Dr. Gulnar Parveen Poorsattar, MD

Dr. Poorsattar has been kind, compassionate, and caring in the course of being my mother’s doctor for years. She’s far more attentive and thorough than any other physician I’ve come across. We’re so thankful for her being in our lives.

Waited over an hour to be seen, repeatedly asked receptionist if the doctor received all the test results( the reason we were there) and even though she said they didn’t have them and we asked that they call the surgeon’s office and get them, she didn’t. Dr Poorsattar finally came in and was confused, didn’t even know that My husband had the surgery she sent him for nor did she review his chart beforehand, unable to get any info and said we should call the surgeon the next day and get them for her since now it was after 5 and office of surgeon was closed. I had to call and get results for her and then she didn’t return repeated calls. When she finally called( days later) she was confused and said she didn’t know what to do, wasn’t sure what the pathology report meant even though it was reviewed by several doctors, or what treatment my husband should have next, said we should have it sent to a different lab. Meanwhile she finally did ask how he was feeling since having a complete thyroidectomy and then said he should up his meds but never called in the prescription. Oh did I mention that my husband has thyroid cancer and she is the doctor who diagnosed this and sent him for surgery BUT NEVER FOLLOWED UP....I could go on and on and on about how unprofessional and scatterbrained she is but I think my opinion is clear. I would NEVER go back nor recommend her.

I was so happy to find a doctor close by well what a joke that was, she said I had blood infection, gave me sulfar Diabetic drugs and said I have some problem and have to sleep with my hands in the air. She gave me the wrong blood work, her staff is a joke she will book you for appt even though you already have one. Her office is strange rooms do not have any medical stuff in them. At least the Camarillo Office does not. Her office staff does not know how to use the computer you wait so long, and all and all she is a and should possible retire!

Wait time for appts were hour+ after appt time, then see’s you for 5-10 minutes, part of the time is spent coming in and out of room, yelling at her receptionist to do this and that. Seems knowledgeable, but doesn’t give you the time of day/appt you’ve been waiting for. Took several days after stating she would request surgery to my insurance to do so, even though she knew I was in severe pain/couldn’t eat solid food. When I asked why do you schedule appts so close?, she just shrugged shoulders and said ‘well the person I saw before you was very sick too.’ If I can keep from it, I will never go back there. Worst doctor experience EVER.

My wife went to see Dr. Poorsattar to get her thyroid checked. Dr. Poorsattar did not listen to her at all when she tried to describe the tests she has been through, her symptoms, or family history. She let the room twice during the appointment to see other patients that she left before finishing with them before seeing my wife. When my wife disagreed with her, Dr. Poorsattar asked who the doctor was and started making fun of us because we are from another state. I would not recommend anyone to get and don’t understand how she has patients if this is how she treats them.

Miss diagnosed me! NEVER returned numerous phone calls!!! Staff when calling the office will put u on HOLD HOPING you'll hang up!!!! If u want to feel worse than u already do then make an as appt

Dr. Poorsattar is very patient and explains things very well. She is very willing to give the time to talk about test results. She is very thorough when it comes to the patients health care. I would recommend her very highly as a physician.

Dr. Poorsattar was very helpful and her diagnosis was correct. She took the time to answer all my questions. Yes I would recommend her. I will continue to be treated by her.

My experience was excellent the Doctors and the staff were very kind an help full. As compared to my previous Endocrinologist, here I got all my questions answered and got educated about my health condition. I strongly recommend her as an Internist and Endocrinologist.

I am so grateful to Dr Poorsattar. I am compelled to write this because my experience of 10 years with Dr Poorsattar has changed my life. I was lost, I was told that I had Brittle Diabetes. She told me in very first visit, that there is nothing called brittle diabetes. All diabetes will show these fluctuations in sugar, if we do not understand how our particular body behaves to particular food and situations. She taught me about insulins, how all these varieties of insulins could be matched with my needs and body reactions. We worked intensely as a team. Her educators were also very patient with me. Dr. Poorsattar would place continuous glucose sensors and download on computer. She would review that with me and advise me. We would make adjustments and see the results. Gradually I learned so much to adjust my own glucose levels that I was amazed. All that YO YO syndrome disappeared. I had no serious low blood sugar reactions. I am now able to predict my day. I am able to do long distance travels. She made me a free person. I can take chances with no worries. I feel independent. She was a tough coach, and now a kind doctor. She is very confident and knowledgeable. I would strongly recommend her.

Would not recommend. She is kind and seems to be knowledgeable in her practice, but wait times have been up to almost 2 hours after appointment time-the shortest time of four visits was 30 minutes-all that waiting and she sees you for only for three to five minutes (not kidding--not exaggerating), is not sure who you are--confuses you with other patients-with other medical issues. Nothing ever was resolved--Nothing was ever followed up, it felt so pointless going there. Staff was super kind and friendly but waited for 4 months to bill my insurance and then billed it wrong.

Although Dr Poorsattar was correct in her diagnosis, her unprofessionalism (shouting from the patient room out to the front desk staff) and incompetant office staff (too many mistakes to mention), I refuse to return to her office for any reason.

I have seen Dr Poorsattar for over 5 years for Type II diabetes. Her practice is very busy, but she is thoroughly professional and accommodating. As part of her practice, she employs a nutritionist to help her diabetics cope and understand the restrictions of their disease.I had previously seen a GP for my diabetes and I would recommend her as the endocrinologist of first choice in Ventura County.

MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH THE DR WAS OKTHE FRONT OFFICE GIRL WAS VERY KIND & PATIENT HAD A SMILE, EVEN THOUGH HER DAY SEEMED VERY HECTIC & SHORT ON STAFF. WHEN IT CAME TO THE DR. SHE CAME IN GREETED ME AND WALKED OUT WHEN HER PHONE RINGED CAME BACK IN ON HER CELL PHONE, ONCE SHE STARTED MY VISIT IT WAS GREAT SHE ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS AND MADE ME FEEL GREAT I WILL DEFINITELY BE GOING BACK.

The girl in the office is horrible....doesn't return calls. I was once left to wait in a exam room for a hour and a half (I think the receptionist forgot me). I could hear the doctor talking to people who came after I did so I told them I couldn't wait any longer and left. Anyone have any recommendations?

Dr. Poorsattar has been excellent over the past few years in the diagnosis and management of my medical condition; however, I HATE GOING TO MY APPOINTMENT. The wait time is completely unacceptable. She triple books patients and comes into the office at 9:30 when the first appointment of the day is supposed to be "9am". I have never waited less than an hour-and-a-half before actually being seen. Ridiculous.
