Dr. Hans Thomas Carlson, MD

Skilled surgeon and excellent ‘bedside manner.’ Highly recommended.

Dr. Carlson was my ENT thru throat cancer. I can not say enough good things about my experience. The cancer center would cause excruciating pain when they "scoped" my throat. I didn't even feel it when Dr. Carlson did same procedure. He was patient and took his time explaining things to me. I never felt rushed or like just another patient to him. Highly revommend.

I suffer from Anosmia (loss of smell and taste) after a virus and I can no longer breath through my nose. This doctor said that he would probably recommend surgery if I was his age but that I was his mothers age, so he wouldn’t bother. I am a 64 year old woman. I hope that he shows his mother more kindness than he did me. He was very condescending and had no bedside manner. He had no interest in my condition.

I recently saw Dr Carlson for a facial abscess. He showed me nothing but kindness and was very professional. I would highly recommend him to my friends and family.

Dr. Carlson is extremely thorough and articulates his findings in a succinct and detailed manner. When I didn’t understand something he was saying he would backtrack and ensure I understood. He answered every question, and while he was conscience of time because he had other patients, he didn’t leave until I was satisfied. I have visited many doctors and specialists and he is without a doubt one of the best. The bad reviews he has received seem completely opposite the experience me and my husband had with him. He is a skilled surgeon with a thoughtful and pleasant bedside manner. I will recommend Dr. Carlson to everyone I know.

I have seen Dr. Carlson for different reasons over the past two years, most recently for a thyroidectomy that he performed. He has been very thorough yet extremely personable each time I have seen him. I never felt that he was in a rush or didn't have the time to answer my questions or address my concerns. I would recommend him with confidence to anyone who needs to be seen by an ENT.

I have never been so infuriated from a doctor's appointment before. He is rude, extremely condescending, does not listen, AT ALL, and has no compassion with his patients. His "bedside manner" stinks! I would not recommend this physician to anyone, ever. Do yourself a favor and find another ENT.

Not very friendly , poor disposition , and lack of communication with patient. In and out in 10 min or less .

I had a really good experience with Dr. Carlson. I needed a thyroidectomy due to cancer and he didn't have any openings in his schedual for a month but he moved some stuff around and fit me in two weeks later. Unlike some doctors that make you feel like just another patient, I felt like Dr. Carlson really cared about my situation and how I was feeling. He did a great job on my surgery and the scar is minimal. I would recomend him to anyone.

I would never go here again! I saw the dr for 5 min (no lie), and he talked to me like I was stupid. I feel sorry for anyone that has to deal with this person! Worst experience I’ve ever had with a dr!

Be aware of this doctor. They charge otoscope with price of endoscope, which they said are the same. $735 charges for finding polyps using otoscope and prescribe nosal sprays. Rip off and dishonest doctor, stay away.

Excellent doctor! Took care of my problem that first day seeing him!!!

This doctor does not listen, nor does he try to solve the problem. His response was to put in tubes. No other discussion.

Dr. Carlson was loud, obnoxious and lacked listening skills. I went to him by a recomendation and was never so frustrated in a consult. I have intolerance to sound and with this information i felt he spoke louder almost yelling. Then he proceeded to deliver information in a condescending manner. He said there was nothing to do. He never heard my story before directing me out the door!!
