I saw several surgeons before meeting with Dr. Fayaz and I am so glad I chose him. I would highly recommend Dr. Fayaz for any back or spine problems you have. He listens to you, he is conservative in his approach and does not push surgery at all. He also worked with me when my insurance changed and he was no longer on my plan two months prior to surgery. Because he is not part of a larger physician's group, he can make each decision on a case by case basis in the best interest of his patients. I totally trust him and would definitely use him again, but fingers crossed I won't have to! It has been one year since my lumbar fusion and I feel amazing. My only regret is not having the surgery sooner. After more than five years of physical therapy, chiropractic, injections, pain meds and more, I finally went ahead with my surgery. The moment I woke up, I could tell my pain was gone. My disc was completely gone so it was bone on bone at L5/S1. Dr. Fayaz had to pry the vertebrae apart because they had started to fuse naturally. The recovery from the surgery was not nearly as bad as I expected. I did not take any pain meds after I left the hospital, I wore the brace for about a month and by the time I finished my PT four months in, I was completely pain free. I can bend and sneeze without pain! I never realized how much my pain had been affecting my life until it was gone.

I dealt with pain for over 30 years because I was afraid to have back surgery. How do I spell relief, DR. FAYAZ! When I woke up from surgery I was completely pain free! It's been 7 weeks now and I haven't needed pain medicine, not even Aleve. I constantly had to remind myself not to overdo it because I felt great. Not only is Dr. Fayaz an exceptional Neuro-Surgeon, he's compassionate and really cares about his patients. I'm so grateful for him and HIGHLY RECOMMEND him. I'm thankful to finally be able to enjoy life without pain!

Having been an ER nurse most of my life I have dealt with many physicians, and sometimes you have to accept a skilled surgeon that doesn't have great bedside manner. With Dr. Fayaz, you get both of the above. My husband was nearly crippled with back pain, and had received different advice from different (3) surgeons. We settled on Dr. Fayaz because of great referrals and reviews, and how he treated us and came across at our very first visit. His office staff is well organized, and his PA Jonas is also kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Within hours after surgery, we knew that Dr. Fayaz had made the correct diagnosis and had repaired the herniated disc. Within a week he was off of all pain meds. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Fayaz and his staff.

Great doctor. Excellent surgeon. Had a brain shunt installed 10 years ago. Have had no problems since. He monitors me once a year to make sure it is working properly. Recommend him highly.

Dr. Fayaz was encouraging and well versed when he explained what my recovery was going to be like after my Spine surgery. That made it easier to accomplish my goals day by day. He is truly a Genuine Doctor.

Our daughter was suffering from back and leg pain for some months.She was referred to Dr.Fayaz who had thoroughly explained to us about surgery options but we were skeptical at first since we wanted to try steroid injections first as Dr.Fayaz had given us as this option .We had taken our daughter to another physician who gave her 3 series of shots which didn't help at all, another Dr. gave her a "nerve shot" which didn't help either.WE REGRETTED NOT OPTING FOR THE SURGERY IN THE BEGINNING.We decided to go back to Dr .Fayaz about opting for surgery this time.He was very thorough in explaining to us the procedures and intended plan of care and treatment.Our daughter was scared since its her first surgery.Dr. Fayaz took the time to reassure her everything will be ok. He also took the time to sit and talk with us, her parents , everything about the surgery pre and post care.He answered our questions and concerns since we're from out of town.DR.FAYAZ IS VERY PROFESSIONAL, HAS VERY GOOD BEDSIDE MANNERS, AN AMAZING DOCTOR, VERY CARING AND THOROUGH WITH HIS PLAN OF CARE FOR HIS PATIENTS.Now, our daughter is recovering very well , following up with Dr Fayaz and his plan for her physical theraphy. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing this doctor is I had to have a neck fusion from C3 to C7 the care he gave me and the kindness of the staff was above and beyond I recommend him to anybody and everybody he is very kind great bedside manner willing and caring why can't the doctor and his staff I will forever be grateful

Dr. Fayaz is a 10+ spine surgeon. Dr. Fayaz is a spectacular surgeon and person. His assistant and staff are equal to the expectations you would wish for in an emergency or scheduled surgery. This was my 4th lumbar surgery, my first with Dr. Fayaz. I can only say if I had him do surgery #3, there would not have been a 4th. Long recovery with good results. Relieved severe right leg nerve pain. Rebuilt and constructed cage for L2,3,4. Cleaned up excessive amount of old scar tissue.

Dr Fayaz and his team are the best. His personal style helps you feel at ease and he is extremely through and gives you a complete plan for your recovery. Appointments are seen on time and his skills are excellent

I was in pain and went to see Dr.Fayaz, surgery was needed. I was scared when Dr.Fayaz told me. Now that the surgery is over and I'm on the road to recovery the only regret I have was not having the surgery sooner.

I would highly recommend Dr. Fayaz. He is a compassionate, wonderful man. He and Jonas are very thorough and caring. If I ever need additional surgery he has my business!

Gotta Love this guy, Dr. Fayaz is the greatest and no other is better and he has a great staff and assistant. Insurance can be tricky, but if you can work it out this is the Dr. you want to see.

Dr Fayaz saved my life...my stenosis was so advanced I could no longer feel my legs and was told I needed surgery immediately or my legs would be amputated, so I was referred to Dr. Fayaz who not only did the surgery, he also provided therapy and I am pain free and walking and hiking better than before.

Dr. Fayaz is a wonderful doctor & surgeon. My Back surgery went very well & I have had a complete recovery. I was so worried that I would lose so much of my mobility & doing the things I love to do but he did such a good job of putting me back together that o have resumed the activities that I love to do.

They took very good care of us, taking the time to help us sort through our surgery questions, answered our questions/concerns and always treated us with great concern and dignity. I had a 2 level ACDF in my neck c5-c7. Anytime you have to have surgery it is stressful. Dr. Fayaz and his staff made the process much easier. After seeing several doctors and a neurologist, I was finally referred to Dr. Fayaz for a final consultation and to determine a course of treatment for chronic neck and shoulder pain, with tingling down the arm and into my hand. Dr. Fayaz confirmed what I had suspected, that three of my neck vertebrae needed to be surgically fused. Right away I felt completely reassured that the course of action recommended by Dr. Fayaz was accurate and necessary. My level of comfort and well being was very important to him, and he worked closely with me to understand my life style and needs, both prior to and following the surgery. My stay in the hospital was brief, and my recovery time at home very manageable. Dr. Fayaz was amenable to having me send him the follow up x-rays from Florida and California since I would not be in the immediate area when these were due. We were able to consult on the phone to continue with the follow up care. All of the staff were friendly, helpful, and above all, professional and trustworthy. I would recommend Dr. Fayaz to anyone needing care of the brain or spinal column. There were some extended wait times for appointments, but this is a small drawback that does not detract from the excellent care Dr. Fayaz provides. This type of medical practice is far from routine, so one would expect occasional delays.

Thank goodness the initial surgeon wasnt on my insurance plan, or I wouldnt have found Dr Fayaz.I self-referred to Dr Fayaz after reading several glowing reviews of him, and Im here to say that they were all true: Dr Fayaz is a knowledgeable, truly caring person who happens to be fantastic, talented neurosurgeon. Hes easy to talk to AND listen to, and he always takes the time to explain anything you might have a question about. Ive never felt like he was rushing to get through an appointment with me. All of his staff are equally competent and caring; theyre truly wonderful people to deal with. How many times have you been in a medical office when the doctor was running late? Plenty, Im sure. How many times, though, has someone on the doctors staff come out to the waiting area to explain whats going on, giving patients the option to come back at a predetermined time later in the day, or to simply reschedule? That level of excellent communication rarely happens in a doctors office, but it seems to be common practice for Dr Fayazs staff.After Dr Fayaz saw my initial MRI scans, he calmly but firmly indicated that my tumor needed to be removed as soon as possible. A little over a week later, the surgery was done, and I was well on my way to a complete recovery.

While there is sometimes a long wait (come on, he is a neurosurgeon and has emergency surgeries...would you want him to hurry up if he were in your brain?), the wait is worth it. His bedside manner is incredible. He has great knowledge, integrity, compassion and honesty. He will not tell you that you need a surgery if you don't. I am a patient, my god daughter is a patient, my husband will be a patient and I have sent a number of friends and family members to him. When it comes to my family, I want the best, even if I have to wait a while.
