I would give NO stars if that rating were possible. Dr. Edgerton is not a nice person. In retrospect I wonder if the surgery he recommended and performed was even warranted. He took advantage of my vulnerability and attempted an inappropriate relationship. Basically there is something wrong with him....

I would rate this doctor as very poor based on previous care and treatment. The best word to describe him is incompetent. Do not trust this guy with your heart. He is bad news! I need additional treatment but would never consider going back to him. Avoid this doctor at all costs.

I had a mini-maze procedure performed by this surgeon for my Atrial Fibrillation. It was a disaster! My condition went from occasional to permanent. He destroyed my quality of life.

My life has been a "living nightmare" since I had surgery performed by Dr. Edgerton. I have even considered suicide. Prior to the surgery, my a-fib was manageable. I had only occasional episodes, but opted for the surgery because I wanted to be cured and off meds. The surgery was a complete disaster! My episodes increased along with the symptoms. Stay away from this guy!!

Prior to surgery, I was in A-Fib 100% of the time and my HR was well above 130. My ejection fraction had fallen to 15... in a word I was a mess and in a downard spiral. No surgery is fun, and my mini-maze was every bit as bad as I thought it would be. Dr. Edgerton was there every day explaining very patiently what to expect and to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. For about three days, my heart remained pretty erratic both in rhythm and pace. On the 4th day it went into a normal sinus rhythm and the rate fell to below 80. According to my my implant there has been no re-occurance of the A-Fib to this day, and my EF has risen to 40 as my EP continues to remodel my heart.There is no doubt that Dr. Edgerton saved my life... zero, zip, and nada. I cannot comment on the 'failures' I see on some posting for Dr. Edgerton, but I can tell you what I know from personal experience. He is a man of expertise and integrity.

Don't be fooled by this surgeon's presentation skills when evaluating him. He is quite impressive, but his surgical skills leave a lot to be desired. I found out the hard way and paid a huge price. He performed a mini maze procedure on me and I never regained normal sinus rhythm. I am now in permanent atrial fibrillation. I would definitely not recommend him.

I had surgery done by this surgeon. It was a complete failure and damaged my heart. He has poor bedside manner and is mean spirited. No follow-up whatsoever. To him, you are just a number. He doesn't care. Look elsewhere.

It's been more than a year since the surgery Dr. Edgerton performed totally corrected my A-Fib. Prior to the surgery I was in A-Fib 100% of the time and my heart rate was so rapid that my pacemaker was unable to 'capture and control' the heart. Today I remain A-Fib free and my ejection fraction has begun climbing as the heart shrinks. Dr. Edgerton still sees me once every six months and it is obvious that he is as pleased as I am with the postive outcome. Great surgeon and a great guy.

it has been 1 year since Dr. Edgerton performed the mini maze procedure. he told us to expect an increase of episodes for a period of 3 months. i had 2 A-fib episodes the first 2 weeks after the surgery and that was it. i have not experienced any further episodes since then. Dr. Edgerton was very informative before the procedure and showed caring and compassion every since. i have my last follow up in a few weeks. i would highly recommend Dr. Edgerton to my own family and anyone else that needs his help.

This doctor was supposed to perform a mini maze procedure on me for my paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. Upon going in, he tore my aorta, which required emergency open heart surgery to repair it. After coming out of surgery, I was in total shock upon noticing the massive incisions. I was cut both vertically (7 inch incision) and horizontally (5 inch incision). He didnt even have the decency to inform me as to what happened until he made his rounds the following day. I initially found out from a nurse. I would describe this doctor as a monster. He is rude, arrogant, disrespectful and insensitive. I asked him a number of questions and he got very angry and defensive. He never gave me a straight answer as to what really happened. My decision to go with this doctor was the WORST mistake of my life. Complications such as a torn aorta should NEVER happen in performing a simple mini maze procedure. This doctor almost cost me my life and I certainly would not recommend him. My advice to anyone considering using Dr. Edgerton is DONT DO IT!!

PKMEverything was handled professionally. Everything went smoothly and absolutely no problems afterwards. I am doing so much better than everyone expected considering the condition of my heart before surgery.Dr. Edgerton was kind and took the time to explain what he was going to do and what I should expect. I felt I was in good hands. Dr. Edgerton and his team took excellant care of me. I had no doubts they were there for me and to see that my recovery went well. I would recommend Dr. Edgerton to anyone. I am grateful and blessed he was my surgeon.

Dr. Edgerton is very professional yet very caring. We trusted our loved one into his hands and he performed the surgery in fewer hours than expected and the recovery was far less than expected. We would recommend Dr. Edgerton to anyone at anytime.

Referred by another doctor for by pass surgery. Dr. Edgerton took time prior to surgery to explain what was going to happen including risks. Extremely helpful in this discussion. After surgery, he came by every day to check on my condition both physically and mentally. Made me feel very comfortable with my progress even though some minor issues developed with my leg. 11 weeks after surgery today, progress has been great and he is still available to discuss any concerns even though I have been turned back to the referring doctor.

I would recommend this doctor to anyone with a similar problem. In my particular case Dr. Edgerton was up front and honest with me except for informing me in the initial consultation about the Maze ablation procedure involving being hooked up to a breathing machine during the procedure. Other than that I am very satisfied with his work.He has good people skills,doesn't seem to be in a hurry, and is very comfortable to be with.

He explained what he was going to do and the risks involved to me and my friends and family. His visits to my room after surgery was caring and sociable. I would let him operate on me again. He was wonderful!

Dr E.is a good physician but I think he may be too concerned about pioneering new procedures. Once he has corrected your problem he gives you the option to not come see him after surgery. At least pretend that you care.

I had valve replacement and 4 bypasses done by Dr. Edgerton. You couldn't ask for a more caring and compassionate surgeon. He took 2 hours to explain to my wife and I the procedure along with risks and complications. Fortunately I had no complications andam healing well
