Dr. James Peter Fulop, MD

Started me on CPAP, helped me get a machine quickly. I finally feel rested in the mornings.

Dr. J.P. Fulop has provided me absolutely superb clinical care in neurology and sleep medicine at the Columbus, Veterans Affairs Clinic. He is a highly trained and experienced clinician with specialties in three areas, including psychiatry. Dr. Fulop is competent, compassionate, and embraces "patient centered care." I trust my life to Dr. James P. Fulop.

Excellent physician in every way

I'm a 67 year young widow & I relocated here in 2011. I needed my C-Pap serviced & me too. I made an appointment and I was shocked at how fast I got in, saw the Dr. . He made all the appointments and I had everything completed in less than two weeks total ! I am staying with this doctor for sure - he always makes me feel like I'm his only patient at the time! That's rare in this day & age!

Very kind man/Doctor

Joyce, office manager, was rude on multiple occasions and it was obvious she was intentionally avoiding addional work when approached with questions and routine office requests. My condition is disabling and required paperwork for my short term disability to be completed in a timely manner. These papers were ignored and resent 5 times. After finalling being sent in they were incorrect and without a physician's signature. Due to the delays from dr fulop's office my claim was closed due to a lack of supporting physician's documentation. This was of course devastating emotionally and financially. As for Dr fulop himself, he told me there was little if nothing that could be done for me and offered no treatment plan suggesting I try caffeine to help me stay awake during the day. I have wasted months working with Dr Dunlop and his office and my condition has only worsened.

Saw him for sleep study follow up and his staff was good natured and he himself saw me within 15 min of my entering I have not negative comments about this provider.

Techs provided much more info than doctor. Visits seemed to be programmed, by the book.

I am a new patient of Dr. Fulop and I found him to be a great doctor and I am happy with my diagnosis, unfortunately he is extremely hard to contact. I found out the only way is to leave him a message with "Joyce" and she will "do her best to get back to you within 24 hours". After three messages and 7 days later I got a call from Joyce who was completely unprofessional, did not allow me to get a word in edge wise and hung up......I was shocked and didn't know what just happened. I was just looking for an opinion on a different device and a copy of my prescription. I really want Dr. Fulop's opinion but I don't want to deal with Joyce again...... but it seams to be the only path.

Arrogant, annoyed, bored. Maybe it was a bad day but he's a jerk

Dr. Fulop Was very helpful. He did seem awkward, personally. But I didn't care if he could help. I got the result of my sleep study. The letter was a requirement with the results, but my second appointment was enlightening. He told me my problem was disabling. We tried some meds with no success. He helped me face reality about work. He prepared documents I needed so effectively that I received disability in 4 months. He is very responsive now when I need new prescriptions. He is not overly "warm" but knows his stuff. He was qualified, effective and responsive.

Dr Fulop has gotten better since initial visit. Decided to give him a chance. We all have bad days. Still no extended hand, for a hand shake, but does seem to be listening to concerns. Answered questions to my satisfaction. Called in a scrip today. We'll see how prompted, this will be. Word of mouth and social media can make a difference. The better i feel about my experience, the more i will improve my ratings. As i feel better, i want others to do the same. and vise-verse. I hope Dr. Fulop continues to improve his bed side manner, because i feel he does have the knowledge needed to help.

I would not recommend this so-called Doctor to anyone. First of all, the fact that he has zero social skills is awkward starting with the first visit. He just seems to wander around lost in thought (or possibly lack thereof) while his patient sits or stands bewildered with what's happening. He had almost nothing to say... I wasn't even sure if he heard anything I said to him. I left feeling very skeptical about having a sleep study done with this guy, but did it anyhow. After the sleep study, I received a very strange letter vaguely explaining the details of his findings. It seemed like a very impersonal "template" that he probably uses for everyone, with standard "vague" comments describing results... half of which did not even seem to match my circumstances. In the end, I ended up with nothing helpful accomplished and a lot of expense out of pocket. I have at least as much education as this doctor, and work very hard to earn my pay check. It just amazes me to see how easily some people earn a lot of money while putting very little effort forth.

Doctor, or should i say GOD FULOP, was very arrogant. first meeting showed some red flags with his condensending arrogance, not even a hand shake. i figured, must have been a bad day. WRONG! the staff was excellant with sleep study. No complaints. Second visit i was perscribed medication, still no hand shake. So after a few weeks the medication was not helping. so i call the office on monday, they told me the GOD FULOP[ would not be in until thursday. they said they would tell him then. no call back by thursday, SURPRISE! i decided to stop by his grove city office wutch is close to my house. As he stood near the receptionist while i explained about no one calling me back, he leaves and goes to his liar. the reseptionist then goes back to his liar and explains to him what he probably heard me already say. she comes out and tells me they made an appointment for me across town next tuseday. i explained to her that all i needed was a call back on what to do about the medication. i guess you can't bill united health care for a call back. needless to say, if your looking for a doctor with good bed side manner, and one that is concerned about your health, keep walking, maybe even run a little. this doctor has lost touch with the reason for becoming a doctor in my opinion. if he entered med school to help people at all.

Dr. Fulop is very vague and doesn't want to spend time with you the 1st time at sleep ctr I had sleep apnea next sleep study I didn't. I had a brain concusion from accident and wasn't getting better he scheduled me for an mri and mra and found 2 brain aneursyms. I thank Dr fulop for following up as Grant Hosp released me with a concusion only. Dr Fulop didn't want to discuss my memory issues, confused, lost etc. Dr. Pema repaired my aneursyms which is a great Doctor.

Dr. Fulop, even though he is very knowledgeable with his trade, is a scam artist when it comes to insurance coverage. I was assured that his office had contacted my insurance company and said all would be covered and all I would need to pay was my copay. I signed off on the paperwork thinking all would be covered. After the initial sleep test I was told I should come back in for a treatment test where I would sleep with the apparatus to see how I would respond to the treatment. I was again assured that I would only need to pay copay. Shortly after the second test I was told I had an outstanding ballance of close to $3000 and needed to pay as soon as possible. I told them I was assured of insurance coverage, they told me I signed the paper and was responsible for the payment. I was eventually sent to collections. This has sent me sour to the sleep disorder scam/fraud at Riverside Hospital.
