Dr. James Kenneth Cole, MD

Dr. Cole is thorough, kind, and knowledgeable. He can think outside the box to understand the complex problems an individual may have. He communicates well and really listens to his patients. He is very trustworthy. He also has a great staff that works in his office and they are very caring as well.

Dr Cole is an incredibly compassionate man and an amazing doctor. My L4-5 vertebrae were ‘destroyed’ - as he said - but immediately after surgery, my pain and and other symptoms were already better. I was afraid to have this surgery, but he put me at ease and listened to all I had to say. If you have to have back, etc., surgery, you couldn’t find a better doctor!

I've seen a lot of Dr's for surgeries, genetic disorders, neurology, diabetes, cancer etc & I've never had 1 that has such horrible bedside manner & RUDE staff. His nurse & assistant are nice when and if he's right there but if not then extremely hateful & don't return phone calls for days at a time. I would definitely recommend a neurosurgeon. After sending me for numerous sets of injections & testing, he still kept trying to "figure it out ". I've had several spine surgeries & trusted him to do a couple as well which I will regret forever but I got lucky & another surgeon identified his mistake & fixed it. After doing a few surgeries he just said sorry, I don't know what else the problem can be. I went to a amazing surgeon in Carmel who immediately identified the problem which was the surgery he had done. Luckily the new surgeon was able to fix it and I'm pain free after 4 long years. He's a very nice, kind Dr but don't let that fool you!

He spends time explaining things in layman's terms. His beside manner no complaints. He has done 2 spinal surgeries. Don't trust anyone else.

Very good spine specialist that treats the patient with all options before surgery is needed.

I started seeing Dr. Cole after having 5 spine surgeries from a previous surgeon. Dr. Cole has a wonderful bedside manner and had me do diagnostic testing before the diagnose. The other surgeon I had did the wrong disc and I know Dr. Cole is right because it is what I suspected. The surgeon I had before Dr Cole nickle and dimed me and made it so I had to got through 3 of my spine surgeries in a year and a half. Doctor Cole is wonderful and knowledgeable ! Scheduled for a sacroilliac fushion next month.

I saw Dr Cole for the first time a few years ago when he did a lower spinal fusion on my husband. He was a great Dr and helped my husband when several other Drs couldn't. I started experiencing pain in my neck several years ago and went to see another Dr that I was refered to. He told me I was too young to have a fusion done. I lived with pain for over a year b/4 going to see Dr. Cole. He was very helpful and patient. Great guy all around. He did a fusion on my neck and I felt so much better. I have other issues now and even though he has moved his practice I rufused to see anyone else. I drive almost an hour one way to see him. If you have any type of spine issue this is the man to see!

Knowledgable Dr. So i felt comfortablein his diagnosis and plan of action.Awesome staff to work with. The problem was you could see tension in the staff that were obviously not comfortable with him. The poor girls were trying so hard to comfort me and do there job. He obviously rules with an iron fist. I can say I am pleased with the outcome of my treatment as I have very little pain and get better every day. Just needs to be kinder to his nurses that would help with my nervousness . Office staff was very helpful too getting me all the information I. Needed and handled insurance with ease which mde my life easier. His nursing staff were very sweet and caring eased my nervous nous tremendously. Mostly saw a nurse at follow up which was unsettling.

Highly recommend Dr. James Cole. I had had headaches and neck pain for a # of yrs. Family dr. didn't do anything changed dr and ordered tests and was referred to Dr. James Cole, MD @ My Ortho Team. He was able to tell me that I had to herniated discs in neck that needed fused. Had that done and after healing, I felt so much better and didn't have all the headaches and neck pain. I have had some other spine issues since that are not related to that and he has helped. He explained things well and showed the xrays pics with explanation and was in no hurray. Have recommended him to several other people. They all are happy with him.

I have seen Dr Cole over a five year period about low back pain. I was always treated very well and he listened. He always tried to avoid surgery. Great bedside manner and a great doctor.

Dr. Cole is the best. I had a lumbar spinal fusion and went from having excruciating pain for several decades to zero pain. I can exercise and do things I haven't been able to do in twenty years. He literally gave me my life back. I wish I had done it sooner. He is an excellent physician. He gets my highest recommendation.

Dr. Cole is wonderful. After hearing I was in need of a spinal fusion, I rescheduled a consultation with him, which he spent 45 minutes answering both mine and my husband's questions. He is a very caring doctor who does an excellent job with the pre-op, operation, and post-op care. I would never hesitate to refer him.

Dr. James Cole is the best orthopedic spine surgeon on the South side of Indianapolis. He is the best doctor because he is very nice, and will try to help you in the best way. He makes you feel a lot more comfortable than most doctors you would have. He really makes me feel more relaxed about my surgery. He is definitely recommended. Dr. James Cole you rock!
