Dr. James Kevin Kaufman, MD, FACS

Did you know that he used to go by the name J. Kevin Kaufman? Did you know that he lost his board certification? Look up why. I previously wrote a really long review but it did not post. I am just suggesting you check him out. He kept me and the hospital waiting two hours for my surgery (crainiotomy). I was hooked up ready to be wheeled down to surgery. I had IV, blood pressure cuff, etc. ready when he showed up red-faced and shaking. Because he was so late the hospital had to give the special surgery suite to the next doctor who reserved. So I was unhooked, sent downstairs to sober up from the meds and sent home. One week later I was scheduled at a different hospital. I was there for 10 days. He never came by or called. He sent a staff member from his office which used to be at The Center for Neurological Disorders on Summit Ave. Gee, I wonder why he is no longer with such a major group? That surgery was supposed to provide me with relief from Trigeminal Neuralgia. What it did was leave me permanently deaf in my left ear and with a condition called Anesthesia Dolorosa. I found out later this is the worst outcome (besides death). Funny, he never mentioned anything about that. SO MUCH MORE. Be careful. Check him out thoroughly.

Not only is Dr. K someone who goes above and beyond for me every time I visit, he goes out of his way to follow up with me long after everything if I’m the clear!! Thank you Dr. K!

A few months ago I was not able to move around like I once did. I was having trouble sleeping, bending over was extremely painful, and I could not walk or stand for long periods of time. I went to Dr Kaufman and was surprised that my life wasn't over. He took the time to explain I had a very common problem and a simple procedure could fix it. 6 weeks after my surgery I am feeling amazing! I am sleeping through the night and walk a mile a day. Dr. Kaufman has a great bedside manner. He listens to your problems and includes you in your care plan. His staff is also very nice and helpful.

Dr. Kaufman and his staff always made me feel like they cared a great deal about my well being. The surgery went well and I was very happy with the outcome and the follow up visits. It is all about you unlike of a lot of other doctors who don't really care.

I had a 4 level Alif and the out come has been amazing. I was unable to walk without assistance from a cane or walker, and three days after surgery I was feeling none of the pain that I had been in for several years. Dr Kaufman is a miracle worker and I would recommend him to everyone I know. His staff is amazing and helped me through the process and filled out the thousands of pieces of paperwork the my employer and insurance company threw at them. I am also about to have neck surgery and I know Dr Kaufman will take excellent care of me.

I had surgery on my neck 6 weeks ago and I feel good as new! I was unable to use my left arm and hand and now I can. I'm glad Dr Kaufman did my surgery. I had to wait 1 and a half hours to see him, but he was worth the wait.

Kevin, is a very friendly person and really cares for my and my health issues. His nurses are very friendly and knowledgeable as well. I had a lumber fusion and my years of pain have been reduced to a little arthritis when bad weather comes thru. I would totally use Dr Kaufman again and I would recommend friends and family. A big thank you to Dr Kaufman and his whole staff for making my experience with such a larger surgery and recovery go so smooth.

i have two surgerys by dr Kaufman and both were great no pain quick recovery and no problems I even recommend my wife to him for her back pains

GREAT DOCTOR!!! The staff was so helpful and super friendly!!! I had surgery about three months ago and I AM DOING WONDERFUL!!! Dr. Kaufman is the only surgeon that I would have do my surgery. He spent so much time with me prior to surgery to make sure I understood the procedure and helped me weigh all my options. After my surgery he along with his amazing nurses and staff helped me thru the healing and now I am as good as new.!!!
