I highly recommend Dr. Hafron to anyone who has prostate cancer. He came highly recommended, and I was fortunate enough to get in, and have the doctor perform my surgery. I rate my surgery as a success, and everything went exactly as Dr. Hafron said it would. I was concerned (as I am sure many are) about post-surgery bladder control, and unsure of exactly what to expect. You can read a lot of different experiences on the internet. I am a 5’7” male weighing 165lbs. Doc said I was a good candidate for Robotic-assist surgery. My surgery went well. Post-surgery I was in some mild discomfort coming out of anesthesia. I did get up and walk after a few hours with assistance. It was painful getting up but I worked through it. Walked again later than that day – it was better. I really was in no pain all day and had a good night’s sleep. Next day I experienced some intermittent pain (maybe bladder spasms) and took one pain pill and later some Tylenol. After discharge I followed the suggested Tylenol / Ibuprofen alternating regimen to manage pain for 3 days. During this time, I did not experience any pain. 1-week post-op I went in to have the catheter removed. This was a big day not knowing what to expect. I took a male brief and pad with me. The removal was nothing at all. Surprisingly I did not leak. I put a pad on and maintained having a pad for the next week as a backup in case I leaked. During that first week I leaked a drop or two per day and had to be careful focusing on bladder control. Hard to explain but you have some different sensations you will experience that you never had to think about before. As an example, it took about four days to resume bowel movements, and the sensation of flatulence would want to cause a release from the bladder which I needed to think about and try to control. Took a little getting used to it, but never had problem. I’ve practiced exercising my sphincter muscle as suggested. Stopped wearing a pad after one week and haven’t had any issues. At the time of this writing I am 4 weeks post-op. No pain, no discomfort, no loss of bladder control and healing well. I was pleasantly surprised at “not” losing bladder control and how well my recovery has gone. I believe this is 100% attributable Dr. Hafron. There is no doubt in my mind having an experienced, qualified and gifted surgeon like Dr. Hafron is the reason behind this successful surgery. If you are facing prostate surgery, do yourself a favor and see Jason M. Hafron M.D., you won’t regret it!

He is negligible about post surgery follow up. His staff are so arrogant and not serious about appointments. I lost two half days office due to their negligence. I lost my pay for 8 hrs. I donot receommend him

I had very bad experience with Dr Jason staff who look after his appointments. I had surgery and they gave me a date for follow up. when i visited on same date and exact time,they said that your appointment not in system. I lost my half day salary. Again they gave me appointment after a week. I took half day leave from office and went to hospital. same answer from receptionist, your appointment not in system.(worst thing is same person who has given me appointment is saying that your appointment is after one month not today, I had appointment card with me which date and time written by her). Finally some nurse came and see me, its mere waste of time. Dr Jason, Please take care of your patienets who had surgeries.

Dr. Jason Hafron is an outstanding Urologist ! He is extremely competent, very personable, and a masterful surgeon. Prior to seeing Dr Hafron I was suffering from all the uncomfortable symptoms resulting from BPH. Dr. Hafron recommended GreenLiight Laser Surgery as the best course of action. The outcome of the surgery exceeded my expectations, and all the issues related to BPH have been resolved. Dr Hafron has greatly improved the quality of my life !

Dr. Hafron was referred by from Dr. Hollander, both of the well regarded MI Institute of Urology. This was due to my suffering malignant neoplasm of prostate. Dr. Hafron is a specialist with highly developed skills in treating malignancy such as mine. My treatment included Lupron, followed by Elegard. In addition, Zytiga together with prednisone, for late-stage, castration-resistant prostate cancer, and with Xgeva. His knowledge of the latest techniques has preserved my life. I thank you much!

He is a great as a person and excellent surgeon. Also he is very much respected by his courteus staff. I had a very enlarged prostate problem, but hesitated toward surgery.
