Dr. Placer himself is good the two times I met with him. His staff is horrible. 3 times they tried to have my insurance pre-approve a procedure, the insurance denied it each time because the staff didn't give the insurance company all of the requested information. Each time they had me come back, pay another co-pay, just to be told we'll try again. I paid them $120 in co-pays for absolutely no service. That could have been handled by phone. Won't be going back.

Dr Placer and his staff are amazing. I have seen Dr. Placer for 7 years and he is caring, communicative and an excellent doctor. His entire staff , especially Gaby are patient, helpful and understanding. I highly recommend Dr. Placer and his staff.

Would like to thank Rachel and billing for going the extra mile I’n getting our insurance verified so that Patti could have a procedure done. Entire staff has been helpful and understanding.

I will start this review by saying my one interaction with Dr. Placer he seemed very nice and to care about helping me. Unfortunately his office staff is the worst I've ever seen. I had a follow up appointment scheduled for 8:30am on a Friday. I showed up to my appt and after paying my copay and checking in that Dr. Placer was not in the office today and was offsite doing procedures. I asked if these were emergency procedures or did they know ahead of time he wasn't going to be there. I was told they knew ahead of time. I then asked if they knew ahead of time why wasn't I called and informed this. They had no answer. They then asked if I was ok seeing their nurse practitioner instead of the doctor. Well I am all the way here already so why not. So I sat back down for another 5 minutes. They then come to me and inform me the NP does not have the tool needed to read my disc that has x-rays on it and that I will now have to reschedule for another day. So at this point I need to say that when you sign all of your paperwork with them you authorize them to charge you $50 if you miss a scheduled appt. So if I am held to that standard, what standard should they be held to if they miss an appt??? After spending almost two weeks trying to get with the office manager they finally reached out to me. I explained that I wanted a refund of my copay from my missed appt and that I wanted them to cover my copay for my next appt for all of my time and hassle. For the appt that they cancelled I missed 3 hours of pay at work, drove 45 minutes each way, and spend about $6 in tolls. I don't think asking them to cover $45 based on how much I was put out was at all out of line. They proceeded to give me a song and dance about how they have to collect a copay and can't waive it. Great then cut me a check for $45. I was flat out told no. So this office, who was totally in the wrong, is willing to let a patient that will be seeing them for years to come walk away over $45. With customer service like that I don't see how they are still in business.

Dr Placer keeps me pain free having major back problems and lung cancer, I find him very pleasant and always listens to his patients

It is very easy to give a poor rating for a doctor on this site. Not entirely fair but that's that. I have gone to this practice since Sr. Doctor Flynn was practicing. Of course I have had to wait at times, that is normal for most medical practices. And I was sent home from having an epidural one time, only because my sugar was too high. Given that, I find it unbelievable that Dr. Placer would send any patient home with a life threatening blood pressure. I think having used this practice for 50 years should say something for the physicians.

Dr. Placer is the most unprofessional doctors I have come across. His office will cancel appointments a couple of days before and just has no cares regarding people's health. He is rude and all he would like to do is pass out injections with out really trying to find out the problem. His wait times are long. I have sat in a room for over 15 minutes and he was talking to a woman that was not a patient.

He never did a physical exam, never spent more than 3 minutes in the room with me, just wanted to do injections and give prescriptions. Not helpful.

Doesn't take vitals, I'm on several medications including a narcotic. Spends less then 8 minutes with me on average. Shows little care and first tried a medication that had interactions with every other med I was on. It caused burns on my body (Butrans pain patch). Never felt my muscles to see how badly the muscles were contracted.

This doctor is in a rush. Tells you what he thinks and that's that. I was referred to his office by a doctor whose experience I valued. After arriving at the surgery center I waited almost 2 hours. Dr Placer was late. After my procedure he disappeared. I wanted to know which steroid and the dosage he used in my facet joint injections but there was no record found. I requested the info from the nurse who called me from the surgery center the next day but she called me back and referred me to Dr Placer's office. All I was able to do was leave a message and I did, detailing exactly what I wanted to know. I've not received a call. A doctor who has not a moment to return calls will NOT have my money.

I went to Dr. Places on another doctor's recommendation to have an epidural for my sciatic nerve pain. I was not prepared or told how excruciatingly painful it was going to be. As I'm lying on the table feeling like I've been electrocuted, he walks out telling me to have a good day. I was sent home 20 minutes later with my BP at 190/120 and told to call my regular Dr in 3 days if it didn't go down. I have not had any relief from the pain.

I have had a horrible back problem with tremendous pain (double scoliosis, spinal stenosis, pinched nerve, nerve damage...the list goes on). Dr Placer has been the only dr to get my pain in control, and in control without me being loopy or sleeping constantly. He is my hero!

I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis almost 10 years ago and have seen multiple doctors over the years. Some doctors has told me that there is nothing they can do and others has recommended surgery but can't do surgery due to my health condition. I met Dr. Javier Placer 2 years ago. He confirmed the diagnosis but explained my condition in full details and spent plenty of time with me. He gave me options and hope in life. He has provided me 2 injections which has changed my life and took me off 2 medications in exchange for the butrans patch which has been able to control my symptoms well. I did see his PA prior seeing him. I will highly recommend to see him. Dont think twice. Ask around. Dont go with what people say here. Other doctors will recommend him and for a reason.

I saw doctor placer for my arthritis and knee pain. I am zero pain tolerant person so I was very scared to see any doctors. There are times when I went to see a pain management doctors and walked away due to I just did not like the way they treat their patients. I can be obnoxious some times, but when I saw doctor placer and the way he addressed me ..I knew I wanted to be there. so I have been seeing him for arthritis and knee pain. He controls my pain meds to make sure I don't do over for my health concerns . I truly like him and think world of him. thank you dr placer I can walk now. Arthritis are still the same but I am sure it will get better over the time. Staff is wonderful. Love yiyi she is cool.

He is very good at looking at the whole body not just your back. I would not go to any other pain doctor!
