Dr. Jean-Marc Voyadzis, MD

I was referred to Dr. Voyadzis via my pain specialist for L4L5 fusion surgery. From my initial virtual appointment with him and PA Heather Beck, to visiting my hospital room post-surgery, Dr. Voyadzis' nature of questioning and his openness to receiving patient feedback seems truly authentic and with concern. I appreciated his pre-surgery check-in with me too. It was important for me to meet my doctor "in the flesh" (so to speak) pre-surgery since all prior communication (inital and follow-up appointments, etc.) had been virtual due to Covid-19 precautions. Pre-surgery, the doctor introduced himself, explained the procedure, and asked me if I had questions. He also visited me to see if I had any concerns and to check my wounds. His office ensured that we had a 2-week check-in (virtual) and the 6-week check-in that will be in-person at the office. All in all, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Voyadzis as a spinal surgeon along with his support staff to care for your surgery and communication needs.

Highly recommend, we are lucky to have him in Calvert county. My father-in-law had severe cervical stenosis/compression and could barely walk. Dr. Voyadzis did amazing surgery and my father-in-law can walk again thanks to Dr. Voyadzis. We felt very trustful and confident with him from the start. Dr. Voyadzis thoroughly explained my condition and the treatment options available to me. He was friendly, empathetic, concerned, and compassionate. I didn't have to ask many questions as he proactively provided most of the answers I was looking for. He provided a conservative estimate of how surgery may eliminate my sciatic pain and I appreciated his honesty and forthrightness. He seems like a very capable and knowledgeable surgeon.

He explained everything to my family and I regarding my brain surgery. His bedside manner is extremely professional, compassionate, and caring. The surgery went very well and the recovery. The post-surgery call line was very convenient and Dr. Webster (his PA) ensured I was comfortable during my recovery by monitoring my medications. Thank you all for making a scary surgery so much less-scarier and comfortable.

I had an appointment with Dr. Voyadzis after my surgery with him. He seemed to be upset that my symptoms did not abate after his decompression procedure. At times, acted petty and demonstrated poor knowledge base. Seemed a bit too full of himself for my liking. I hope he will treat his patients better in the future.

I just had a multilevel laminectomy that Dr. Voyadzis performed. If you need a great surgeon and an honest opinion go to him. From the first appointment through to post surgery follow up, he showed outstanding judgmen and skill and incredible compassion. I had been living with back pain and numbness in my legs and feet. Almost immediately after surgery I had relief. He helped me get my life back. Not only was he amazing, his staff and Georgetown hospital staff understanding, pleasant and efficient.

Great bedside manor, explained everything in way I could understand. Sheena, his PA was so helpful. Minimally Invasive is the way to go!

Dr. Voyadzis made us wait a long time and was rude to my father. I was not impressed with his knowledge base nor his care. Would not recommend.

Dr. Voyadzis is a great doctor: skillful surgeon, thorough diagnostician, empathetic, attentive, and caring. My mom’s minimally invasive laminectomy was successful by all accounts from the time of the original appointment all through carefully monitored recovery.

I feel that over and over again Dr. Voyadzis has consistently displayed that he chooses the path what is best for his patients. It is striking how accommodating he is and that he listens to the patient. To me he has it all ability affability and surgical skills. He is smooth in the nicest way it is conversations with patients. He also makes him self available which I admire. This is an outstanding physician and surgeon

I came to Dr. Voyadzis after having back surgery fromy another neurosurgeon. Dr. V. examined me, listened to me, and reviewed all films. After he did my surgery I have had a huge amount of progress in a short period of time. Dr. V. has a great bedside manner he truly knows how to communicate with his patientts. I wish I went to him first. I would recommend him to anyone. I wish all doctors could be like him.

It took 3 weeks of calling almost every day before I got a call back to schedule an appointment which turned out to be a month after his office contacted me. Once I got to see Dr. Voyadzis he was excellent. He explained my issues to me and what he could do for me. Unfortunately I had to wait 3 months before surgery due to how busy he is and the fact that my surgery required a vascular surgeon also which bumped the date 1 month later from original date. He performed an ALIF L5-S1 fusion surgery on me. I'm now 4 weeks post surgery and doing great. I was walking without a walker or cane 1 day after release from hospital. I'm now walking 3 miles per day and not feeling any of the pain that caused me to see him. I highly recommend Dr. Voyadzis as long as you can deal with the hassle of getting an appointment.

I have had 2 opreation by Dr. Voyadzis. Lower back L4/5 in 2009 for ruptured disc and a 4 level fusion 2012 in my neck. Both were extreamly painful and all pain was gone right after the operation. it has been over a year and a half since my neck and all is well, sometimes I may over do it at work though. Scars were very small at first and not visable now. Thank you Dr. Voyadzis for my life back!

I have had two procedures with Dr. V. Both have come out just right. What I like about him most is that he listens to you - he doesn't just want to cut you or tell you to more PT, etc., he listens to what you're feeling and what your needs may be. Obviously, he does what is medical best for you - but I like that he considers your opinion. I would look no further for any future needs.

Dr. Voyadzis saw me right after I learned that I had a meningioma in the back of my brain. What struck me was how reassuring he was. He was quite patient and fully answered all my questions. During the surgery consultation, he conveyed all options for dealing with the tumor. He possessed a very warm and friendly manner which calmed me. Every time that he met with me, I knew that I was in good hands and would be alright. I would highly recommend Dr. Voyadzis to anyone needing a neurosurgeon's expertise
