Outstanding communicator, friendly, compassionate, and, in my case, a kindred spirit because of our love of horses. I have to say this because I've had horses for over 63 years and it's rare to find someone who understands that connectivity. It also reflects on Dr. Marrs' ability to identify with his patients.

The best patient visit I have ever had. As a physician myself, I am a little more analytical but this gentleman is uniquely excellent as a physician in knowledge, patience, thoroughness and compassion. DO NOT LET ANY OTHER DOCTOR TOUCH YOUR KNEE! He is the Joe Montana of orthopedic surgeons.

This dr really knows his stuff!!! I'm so very thankful that he practices in Rapid City!!! I also love his staff ,Keith and Angel!!!!

Dr. Marrs is my trusted surgeon who has successfully performed 3 joint replacement surgeries and is scheduled to perform a 4th. Osteoarthritis runs on my mother's side and I am so thankful to have a skilled surgeon to help with these major surgeries. He is the best of the best, and my surgeries have all gone very well. I have not had any difficulties and have been guided through the whole process because of Dr. Marrs and Black Hills Orthopedics and Black Hills Surgery Hospital. What a treasure to have these resources to improve the quality of my life here in my hometown, Rapid City, South Dakota. Because of these successful surgeries I am able to continue practicing real estate and helping many people buy and sell homes in the Black Hills. I am truly grateful.

I experienced a comforting first appt with Dr Marrs. After my exam I realized it was surgery that I would ultimately need but I didn’t have to do it immediately. I’ve been able to share painful knee experience with my friend Linda Heath, who is a very satisfied patient of Dr Marrs. He perfected her knee surgery and she described the experience as life changing for the best! I feel honored to have him for my Dr.

Dr. Marrs sure does know his work, he did a wonderful job on my hip surgery, when I went for my follow up him and his team answered all my questions. I would recommend him to anyone.

This process on double knee replacment is wonderful

I had bilateral TKR in March. I completely recommend Dr. Marrs for all of your knee injuries. He listened to me and seriously looked intensively into my knee problems. He walked me through what bilateral TKR looked like and what it was going to take for me to prepare for it and what healing looked like afterwards. I live in TX at the moment and never thought twice about not coming back to SD and having him perform my surgery. I am 4.5 mths out and am healing so well that I am going back to my 2-3 times a week yoga practice. I listened to him about how important physical therapy is as well. I started with 3 times a week, am currently at 2 times a week, and am moving to once a week since I am transitioning back to yoga. If you follow his pre-surgery and post operative instructions you will heal and your knees will feel so good and strong. The scars look pretty amazing also. Most people can't believe I'm only 4 mths out when the scars look to be a year or more already. YOU have to be ready to put in the work, it's not easy, and it can be painful, but the payoff is worth it!

The out come of my surgery was very positive ! The staff treated me as a human instead of a number which I so appreciated . I am walking without pain and I will tell anyone who is contemplating surgery to inquire with Dr Marrs .

I can’t say enough about this incredible doctor!! I was a bit nervous having just moved to this area from Minnesota. My health care in Minnesota was excellent and I thought that level of care and expertise could not be duplicated. I was so wrong! Dr. Marrs is an out standing orthopedist and is a master of perfection. Since moving here I’ve had 2 knee replacements and was hospitalized at the BHSC. The care I received was top notch. My surgeries went perfectly and recuperating went well. The hospital was above and beyond my expectations. Super care and attention!! I highly recommend Dr. Marrs and the staff of the BHOS Center abd the BHSC!!! Excellent!!! Love you guys!!!

Dr. Marrs performed a revision hip surgery (previous joint by another surgeon failed). He knew I was cautious/anxious about the second surgery and gave us all the time we asked to answer questions, provide updates, advise next steps. He was truly a blessing to us.

From the first meeting to the final meeting, I could not have had better care. All the staff members were great to work with. Dr. Marrs did an excellent job of attending to my surgery and the follow up. Again I will say the staff members were excellent and the facility was excellent.

The staff at their locations every one that I've been at, go above and beyond to do whatever they can to get you answers and get you feeling yourself again. Highly recommend these folks for all your surgical needs. Way above any 5 star rating could ask for. Awesome facilities and staff.

Dr. Marrs did a hip replacement surgery on me. I did not want to do it but had no choice as I could not walk. He must have done everything right as I had no pain and a very quick recovery. I will always think he is great but also hope that I never need to see him again. I hope he gets paid a pile of money as he deserves it.

Very disappointed good surgery but very little contact with Dr Marrs. He cancelled appointment seems not to care

I can't say enough about my experience with Dr. Marrs and his staff. I researched his credentials and experience related to me having a total knee replacement. I had a lot of questions related to having a total knee replacement and he answered them fully. His beside manner is warm and caring and his entire staff demonstrated the same level of professionalism and "personalism." My procedure was done at the Black Hills Surgical Hospital and the level of care that I received far surpassed any on my experiences that I have had at a community hospital/instituion. Thank you
