Dr. Williams continues to be an outstanding physician. He makes what could be an uncomfortable interaction with a necessary procedure totally comfortable. His team and he are outstanding in their interactions, professionalism and friendliness.

A wonderful physician! Skilled and very understanding. The preparation prescribed for my colonoscopy used Miralax and it was TASTELESS! My previous two colonoscopies, (not in Athens) were very difficult because the liquid tasted like drinking a gallon of salt water. I would recommend Dr. Williams without hesitation. Both he and his staff worked hard to relieve my anxiety about having this procedure.

I recently had a colonoscopy performed by Dr. Williams and I feel comfortable recommending him, his facility and staff to anyone needing a gastro doctor. Although my interaction with him was limited, when the whole process works well, it speaks for the doctor. The experience was Professional, comfortable, streamlined - as pleasant as a colonoscopy can be. My only suggestion is for the staff/doctor to introduce themselves to the responsible family member and/or to have a visible ID (if they had an interaction with the person). As the patient, everyone introduced themselves and their role to me but when I wasn’t awake he had to guess who was who. The CRNA introduced herself and had a clear ID. The doctor may have had his ID on his scrubs.

Dr. Williams and his staff didn't an excellent job taking care of me this morning. My appointment was at 8 am and was out and on my way home in a hour.

From the moment you walk in to the time you leave, you receive excellent service from the entire team. The efficiency and quality of care provided by Dr. Williams, Joe, Holly, Joy, Trevia, Todd and Tiarre was outstanding. I highly recommend this practice for gastroenterology care.

I have been a patient of Dr. Williams for several years. He and his staff are very professional, friendly, and compassionate. The main concerns at Dr. Williams’ facility are that you are comfortable and kept informed of what is going on with your procedure. When the procedure is over, Dr. Williams gives you an oral report as well as a written report. He makes sure that you understand what he has reported to you before you leave.

My husband had his procedure done and I was so impressed and the staff was just wonderful, I had mine done there also. He was very friendly and very informative and I felt comfortable and a wonderful staff. I highly recommend Dr. Williams and staff, that is the only place I will ever go, all my family goes there as well.

The dreaded colonoscopy was nothing to dread at all! Dr. Williams, his staff and well-planned facility function quite smoothly with absolute kindness and respect toward their patients. If necessary, I'll travel a distance to come back in ten years. The only thing I suggest is that patients bring them some socks if their feet get cold. I came prepared. :)

On 1-24-2019 I had my first colonoscopy. Needless to say it was not an event I was looking forward to, but Dr. Jefferey Williams and his staff were awesome! The center was very clean and welcoming, the staff was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. I was seen very quickly and was on my way home in less then 2 hours. I would highly recommend Dr. Williams and the Athens Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center and I will be going back to see him in 5 years.

I was having some stomach problems and had been referred to Dr. Williams by my primary-care physician. I thought that, as a "specialist," he'd be able to help me. What a joke. He was in an out of the room in less than 10 minutes. All he did was interact with the computer the whole time, and made a little small talk. He did not examine me, nor did he ask me any probing questions about my problems. He said he didn't have any idea what could be wrong (no wonder--he didn't bother to take the time to try to find out.). He even mentioned crazy possibilities like "cancer" or "diverticulitis." Rather than try to make a diagnosis, like a real doctor should, he just said, "Let's do an endoscopy." I wonder how much money that would have made him? Anyway, suggesting a major procedure like an endoscopy when he didn't even know what was wrong was ridiculous. I told him I wanted to try something else. So, he suggested instead doing a more specific X-ray than what my primary-care physician had done. Even though he didn't explain the rationale for this doing this procedure very well, I agreed to it, and the radiologist (who performed the X-ray) said everything looked fine. In fact, the radiologist was far more helpful as a doctor than Williams was. I won't be back, and I encourage others to go elsewhere as well. Apparently Williams is too busy playing on his computer to actually do his job as a doctor. Maybe he should just become a computer repairman instead.
