Dr. Jeffrey Brewster Persons, MD

My mother went to see this doctor and came home crying and devastated. He made her feel like she wasn’t in pain when she injured her knee so badly to the point that she can’t walk on it and is using crutches. His PA told her that she would need invasive surgery and then the doctor came in and said he basically didn’t know why she was still on crutches. He was extremely rude to her and to make matters worse, answered a call from his stock broker and told him, “wait just a minute I’m almost done,” left the line open in the room with my mom while he abruptly told her to just come back in two weeks. I am APPALLED and this man and his treatment of my mom. Would definitely not recommend.

I have seen Dr. Persons for a long time due to hip pain which I've had for eight years. He insinuated it was due to depression which I did not have. He also remarked, "I have nothing more for you." I am currently under the care of a more competent orthopedic physician who is working to resolve this pain.

I would not recommend his services to any family nor friend....He may be biased....I was told by him that ,"My glass was half empty, " in my conversation about not foreseeing returning to my profession as a nurse. Thank God I have my mustard seed faith and although I can't use my fingers nor wrist like I'd hope at least I have my peace of mind knowing God must have other plans and makes ways out of no ways.

He performed emergency surgery on my wife. He did a great. His follow on appointments have nor gone so well. His office staff are rude and act like they are mad because they have a job. Dr Persons has been rude at times and has little compassion for his patients. I would never use him again as my doctor.

So far I am pleased with the care/service"of this orthopedic doctor and staff.They work with patients who are uninsured.......that's a tremendous blessing. I'd recommend his practice to anyone. Thank you again doc and office personnel.

Dr. Persons performed a repair on a torn meniscus on my left knee. I was up and walking in a day and it never gave me a bit of trouble. Highly recommended. Great surgeon who knows what he's doing.

Waited 2 hours for him to be rude and say he didn't really know what was going on. Makes you feel as your not really in pain and are making things up..I dont have insurance so i dont think im going to spend that kind of money on nothing. He definitely gives the impression that he could care less.

I think the docs great. He explains things very well, does what he says hes gonna do and does it all with a smile.

Dr. Persons takes the time to answer any and all questions I had. My level of knowledge about my condition greatly increased. Sometimes he is late but I know it is because he is at the hospital or is answering the questions of another patient. He sometimes has a strange sense of humor; but I get it. I can now drive hundreds of miles with no knee pain; before I couldn't make it 100 feet without lots of pain. I have no problems with Dr. Persons.

This doctor is very rude & condescending. I would not recommend him to anyone.

I waited 3 hours to see this rude uncaring jerk! He scolded my 6 year old daughter for crying. She broke her arm and was in pain! I was mortified. I do not recommend that anyone see this so called doctor.

I was given a referral to see Dr. Persons from my PCM. Called on a Thursday for appt. was given one for Friday of the next week at 9:30 am, told to arrive 30 minutes early. Got there at 10 minutes till 9, I was then told he was not there on Fridays that I would have to reschedule, office staff was very rude to me, with the exception of one. I think they believed that I made this appointment up in my head till I had the recording that confirmed my appointment from the day before still in my voicemail. They were trying to give me an appointment for another 3 weeks away. She was insistant that they fit me in on Monday morning. So I was told to come back Monday morning at 10 and once again be 30 minutes early. I was on time as I am always on time for any appointment. Got in to see Dr. Persons at 1:45 that afternoon, after throwing a fit for being there since that morning. I went up three times during my wait to ask about rescheduling or how much longer the wait. I was told everytime that I was the next person to get in to see him. Finally in to see him. He walks in room, says "your too young to be having problems with your hip" and as soon as I said the word "pain" he immediatley let me know "well I don't hand out pain medicine around here" Didn't ask for pain medicine was just describing my pain to him. All in All was in the room with him for no more then 10 minutes, and he came to the diagnosis of "don't know" . I am feeling that he thinks I was there to get pain medication, in which he is wrong, you can buy them on the street easier then you can get them from a doctor, or I could always get them from someone in my family, or I could just ask my PCM for a refill. Worst Doctor I have ever met and I have met a many being a registered Nurse.

Overall a bad experience. From the moment in the er when he told me or led me to believe that MY physician was not available and he would do the surgery to postop visits in which no questions were ever answered fully if at all. I had to take my husband with me to get answers. Had an accident in the PT and was refused to be seen until Monday and then it was made light of . The office staff were not friendly and usuallly appeared to be bored or wanting to get out of there themselves. After 6 months still with pain i find out that the pins in my knee were not buried in the bone but in the soft tissue and need to come out asap.
