Dr. Jeffrey A Rihn

Dr Jeffrey Rihn is a great surgeon once he viewed my MRI he plainly and bluntly put it to me you need surgery as I had severe spinal stenosis on three of my discs after explaining the operation and the recovery time at first I was hesitant because I couldn't have afford it. It got significantly worse over the course of 10 or 11 months so finally I had to break down and go get it done and I couldn't be happier with the experience and the results. After 3 weeks out of surgery I am feeling much better even though I still have a little pain the pain I was experiencing before the surgery was worse and the medicine didn't even touch it hardly. Dr Rihn and his staff and everyone at Riddle hospital was awesome and made my stay as comfortable as possible I can't recommend him enough , go see him you won't be sorry!!

I selected Dr Rihn to perform my decompression surgery after interviewing several highly respected providers in the Philadelphia area. Immediately following surgery, my years-long back pain was eliminated. What a life changer! Dr. Rihn's conservative and disciplined approach (combined with his years of experience specializing in spine surgery) resulted in a '5-Star' outcome. I am 2 weeks post surgery as I write this review and my recovery has exceeded my expectations in every way. Friends and family have been amazed at the change in my mobility and posture! I am a 75 year old man who after suffering severe back pain and having 2 lumbar laminectomies at a local hospital, was in severe pain and was a semi-invalid. At the urging of relatives & friends who referred to him as "The Back Whisperer", I consulted Dr. Rihn who recommended spinal compression surgery. During the surgery he noted a massive staph infection, compliments of my local hospital which required additional treatment. I am now pain free & back to living a normal life. I can't say enough positive things about him. He changed my life.

I’ve had many visits over the years. I’ve had surgeries by Dr. Rhin as well. This man is dedicated, has a great bedside manner, empathetic to your pain, and so much more; Not to mention a Brilliant Surgeon. I won’t allow Anyone else to examine me or touch my back . Dr. Rhin is THEEE BEST!

L3, L4, L5 laminectomy with fusion healed the nerve pain that I was having in my leg and gave me more stability. From my experience Dr. Rhin is thorough and wants to make sure that he does all he can to resolve his patients issues. As I'm having pain bending at the waist and and laying on my back on a hard surface he has ordered an MRI and CAT Scan. I may need to have the hardware removed from my back now that the bones have fused successfully. The staff have been patient and helpful with me and all of my questions as well as providing my employer wih Leave Of Absence documents. Thanks

He’s a great doctor

Listens, Responds, Cares I just had back surgery with Dr. Rihn that gave me immediate relief. Pre-op and post-op I have found Dr. Rihn to be a very caring doctor. The my wife or I was asking questions or sharing our concerns, we found him to be actively listening. He takes his time with you. And his responses are not set responses. I think he did a get job on my surgery. I wish for a better bedside manner. I did not like that he did not come and check on me after surgery. As I woke up in a lot of pain and they had to call a CNP to ask what to do for me. Other than that everything went well.

I had two surgeries in two years with a different surgeon who didn’t fix my problem but still wanted me to have him operate again on me. I went to Dr. Rihn for his opinion and within two weeks I had surgery with Dr Rihn at Surgeons Hospital in Royersford. I am only 2 weeks out but my nerve pain in my legs is has subsided and I am so pleased Dr Rihn knew exactly how to proceed with my lumbar spine. He is compassionate and very knowledgeable. The hospital was the best place I’ve ever been treated after a major surgery. Im hoping in time I can get back to a better quality of life with no more surgeries. Dr Rihn is very optimistic about my outcome which really has helped me to recover and get on with my life.

Dr Rihn is wonderful- he spends time explaining and answering questions, he considers all aspects of patient’s’ health (pain management to codeveloping hardware that is optimal), he is patient and kind and I would highly recommend him to others!

Dr Rihn just did my second spinal fusion on 1/11/2023. This time I only needed one level done . I am 2 weeks post op , no narcotic pain meds needed after I left hospital .walking 30 minutes everyday . Dr Rihn is an outstanding spinal surgeon . Doctor Rihn and his staff performed a microdiscectomy. Pain relief was mediate. Recovery was a walk in the park compared to previous nerve pain. Communication from pre-op to post-op was impeccable. After surgery communication with the PA’s were top notch. Thank you for allowing me to get back to life as I know it.

I can't express how grateful I am to Dr. Rihn and his entire team. I was sufferings with severe pain for weeks. I had seen several other physicians that only wanted to prescribe pain meds and send me on my way before I finally found Dr. Rihn. Within minutes of my appointment Dr. Rihn knew exactly what was causing my pain and put a treatment plan into action. My entire experience has been wonderful. I feel that I received excellent care, not only from Dr. Rihn but from his entire staff. They are compassionate, professional and knowledgably. Had large herniated disc at L4-L5. He did a lumbar laminectomy with fusion. 2 days in the hospital followed by lots of walking and PT. It will be 1 year next week and I’m back to normal.

The Rothman group's credo is "Be what you were." While I recognize that cannot always be the case, in my circumstance I can honestly say that Dr. Rihn's surgery to my lower spine has already succeeded in fulfilling that goal. I had the worst, most debilitating sciatic nerve pain and numbness in my right leg, such that the quality of my life was severely reduced. I could not stand for long periods and walking was excruciating. Neither physical therapy, cortisonal injections or Neurontin could do much to alleviate it. Dr. Rihn diagnosed a protruding disc at L4-L5 that was impinging on the nerve. He performed a microdiscectomy early in the am., and I was out of the hospital before noon that same day. The pain in my leg had vanished. It has not returned. While I'm still in the healing process and under slight restrictions for a few more weeks (lifting, bending) I can also feel my back strengthening on a nearly daily basis. I am essentially already back to "what I was" and look forward to running again. While I understand everyone's circumstances and conditions are different, I cannot say enough good things about this doctor and his work.
