Very thorough and efficient! Dr. Torbert explained everything and was very courteous.

He provided excellent care, I loved the office as my other providers also share his practice.

My knee is much less painful after steroid injection.

Excellent Surgeon

Dr. Torbert is a great surgeon. He did surgery on my left hip. It took him for four and half to complete this surgery. After the surgery I had very little pain. Dr. Torbert takes his time to talk to you and give you answers that I was able to understand. His office staff is very good and is very helpful. I would recommend Dr. Torbert to any one that needs orthopedic help.

I received excellent emergency care, surgery and follow-up from Dr. Torbert for a pretty severe toe injury. I was fortunate that he was on-call when I was injured.

My original ortho retired and I was assigned to Dr. Torbert. I liked his education and background, so I switched practices to have him do my knee replacement. Never had a moment of regret! Dr. Torbert has a great bedside manner, skills and knowledge. He has made time to see me twice when I fell. If I have to have my other knee replaced, I will not hesitate to have him do it.

My wife had her left knee replaced 10 years ago with very bad immediate results: much pain and not normal for 6 months or more. Pain in right knee built up until she couldn't put it off any longer and had Dr. Torbet replace it. Results like night and day. She went from walker to cane to walking normally within 6 weeks. She is largely pain-free, off the heavy narcotic pain relievers in 3 weeks, just occasional Ibuprofen. Couldn't be happier!

I was in a severe car accident at the beginning of this summer in which I shattered my humerus and broke my femur. Dr. Torbert spent 4 hours in surgery piecing my bone back together, and several more fixing my femur. I am a baseball player and my dream has always been to play baseball in college and because of the work that Dr. Torbert did in the operation room I am currently playing baseball at Carson Newman.

Dr. Torbert was on call at UT Hospital the weekend my son suffered a badly broken tibia and fibula, and he performed surgery to repair the bones and put on an external fixator. We were so fortunate to have him caring for our son. We had never heard of the ex fix, and Dr. Torbert was very patient with all of our questions. It has been over five months since my son's accident and we have been back to see Dr. Torbert on a regular basis as my son's leg heals. Dr. Torbert has been wonderful about explaining all about the break, the treatment and what to expect down the road. My husband and I have commented on how much time Dr. Torbert spends with us during office visits -- we don't feel rushed, and he answers all our questions. It was a traumatic injury for a child but Dr. Torbert really connected with my son and has helped all of us through it, even when the healing didn't happen as fast as my son wanted! When my son is finally ready to get back into sports, he'll have Dr. Torbert to thank!

And I am walking again. I was 64 years old when I fell off a ladder crushing both of my heels. I was fortunate that the local hospital sent me to the UT Medical Center where Dr. Jesse Torbert was assigned to my case.I appreciated Dr. Torbert's direct approach when he reviewed my situation and pulled no punches. He told me that I had suffered a serious trauma and that my recovery would be difficult. Dr. Torbert took a conservative approach to my surgery which was the absolute correct thing for him to do. He did not slight me in any manner during the my surgery nor my recovery. I had his full attention everytime we met. I felt he sincerely cared about me as a patient.Because of his surgical approach and his direction during my recovery I was able to exceed his and my expectations when it came time to place weight on my feet and learn to walk again. Yes it hurt and it still does to some extent to walk but I can honestly say I am getting better everyday. I have had no surprises what so ever with my recovery because of Dr. Torbert's attention to detail and honest approach.I can not say enough about Dr. Jesse Torbert as a physician and a person. It was his expertise that has allowed me to regain my active life again. He is an outstanding orthopaedic surgeon that I would recommend to everyone.

Dr Torbert did an excellent repair to my injury. His staff is very attentive and caring. Great bedside manners. I hope I never need his services again, but if so, I would go back.

I can not tell you how comforting it was to be told by my wife how good she had been treated and talked to by Dr. Tobert before , during and after my surgery's. He is very down to earth with us and explains everything to where we can understand. I feel very blessed knowing that he's taking care of me and the welfare of my family.

Dr.Torbert is a talented physician and surgeon. I have struggled with a non-union fracture for nearly a year. Previous MD told me he had done all he could for me and suggested someone at Vanderbilt. Dr. Torbert, through his expertise and excellent follow up care saved my arm. It is so good to have it back. Thank you Dr. Torbert.

We didn't have to wait at all in fact they took us back a little before our appt time. We were on our way out of the office about 10 minutes past the original appt time. I cut off part of my finger on a table saw and Dr. Torbert did surgery about 9:00 pm and we were home by 12:30 am. He removed the thumb from just below the nail bed, it healed very nicely. kudos to a great surgeon.

I was brought in by ambulance from a car wreck in Knoxville at the University hospital. I had a open fracture to my radius and ulna, a fractured acetabulum. My arms have many tattoos and they are right back in place as they were before the accident. He took great care of me and explained everything to me so that I could understand. Till this day I am still under his care and I am highly satisfied with himself and his staff.

Dr. Torbert is a refreshing change from the typical preoccupied and busy doctor. He listens and you feel he is concerned about you. He remembers your conversation from previous visits without first consulting brief vague notes. His surgical skill is EXCELLEN and I had A wonderful result.
