Dr. Jieshi Yan, MD

I was in the hospital for a week feeling very ill. Five doctors and all their tests couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. One day Dr Yan, (new to me), said he was reviewing my case and had an idea of what I had. He was correct! Also I had a rare disorder. Dr Yan is a life saver to me! I am constantly amazed at how intelligent and wise he is. His compassionate and caring bedside manner is very genuine. I'm so thankful he walked into my hospital room 11 years ago!

I have dealt with a lot of nephrologists, but he is by far the best and the most educated. He is very patient and genuinely wants to help his patients as much as he possibly can. He goes out of his way to find solutions for problems and help his patients. He is very caring and always has his patient's best interest at heart. He is not just a great doctor, but also a great human being.

Had a 4way by-pass and having kidney failure, was told by another Doctor I would not make it without my kidneys shutting down. Dr Yan said he felt he could overcome this and he DID.

Dr. Yan is one of the best doctors I've seen. He is professional & knowledgeable not only at the Nephrology but also in the related fields. He was diagnosing accurately and following up in timely basis. He is patient & caring. He is always listening & gives all explanation when patient has questions. He is an excellent doctor!

When my mom was hospitalized for complications from diabetes we were lucky to meet Dr. Yan as her appointed doctor. My moms previous doctor had refused to send her to a kidney specialist despite her complications and she ended up in a hospital for ICU for 2.5 weeks..and we were all very scared for her life.. Dr. Yan eventually diagnosed her with autonomic dysfunction ( which could've been avoided if her other doc had sent her to a specialist instead of insisting he had her under control!!..sigh ) after my mom was released from the hospital my mom switched her doctor and started seeing Dr. yan regularly...before she met dr. yan she always felt sick...and her old doctor kept switching her meds instead of getting to the bottom of her problem..but after she switched to Dr. Yan she is back at work, and is playing golf again ! Dr. Yan is definitely more caring than any other doctor we have met. He had my mom take notes of her own condition everyday ( her blood pressure number etc ..sugar level ) which helps her to be more aware..and by checking her notes everytime she visits, he is able to see more closely in detail her every day conditions and tries to figure out what was different each time.. and no matter how busy he is..he always gives enough time to ask questions and address our concerns...when my moms blood test came back with potassium level dangerously high. that very same evening he called us personally to have her be admitted to the hospital to avoid complications..she was released the next day but we were all so grateful that he had looked at the tests right away ( not waiting till the week after to see the test results before her appmnt ) and informed us personally so that my mom could be saved from further complications...when i was having a hard time with getting her medicine approved by her insurance. He took an hour out of his time to call the insurance himself ..even tho i felt like we were all being played by the insurance company. i have never met such a kind doctor who actually took that much care. i wish him and his family all the good things in life..andI will forever be grateful to Dr.Yan..and i have so much respect for him not just as a doctor but also as a person.
