Dr. John Alvin Kirkland, MD

I was treated by Dr. Kirkland for prostate cancer. He, along with a senior oncologist from Presbyterian Hospital, provided excellent care with clear explanations for everything they did. I was also treated by Dr. Kirkland for kidney stones on two different occasions, one requiring smashing by a laser device and the insertion of a temporary stent. All my treatment from Dr. Kirkland was excellent and I was always treated in both a professional and friendly manner. While I no longer live in the Charlotte area, if I again had a serious urinary or prostate issue, I would consider returning to Charlotte from Northern Virginia to be treated by him.

Do yourself a favor and find another doctor. Almost lost a friend due to lack of care

I have now seen Dr. Kirkland for surgery and 3 visits, including a post op scope and very impressed with his bedside manner and skills. Scope was about painless and I was afraid that it would hurt. He has a manner and style that works for me. Bladder cancer patient had 1 small tumor was removed with no complications and recent scope shows did not return after 4 months. Highly recommend this doc.

I no longer go to Dr. Kirkland because we moved to WV ... but I would highly recommend him. If I'm not satisfied my WV dermatologist, I will make the trip back to charlotte.
