I am writing this post on behalf of my brother who visited Dr. Abroon's office about a month ago. Dr. Abroon incorrectly prescribed my brother a prescription that was not covered by his insurance. After the fact, Dr. Abroon and his staff decided not to follow up with the insurance company; instead, Dr. Abroon has chosen to to be unresponsive, irresponsible, and not helpful to my brother, creating a cost of time and $ borne by my brother. I would never recommend Dr. Abroon to anyone after he has exhibited this sort of incompetence and careless attitude toward my brother's situation. We will be filing a complaint with Office of Professional Medical Conduct at the NYS Department of Health.

Dr Abroon spent very little time with me on my first and last visit. I got a real run around when I asked for my lab results. It took one month and the intervention of a third party for me to get them.

I am surprised to see some of the 1 star comments and reviews on here. Dr Abroon has been my primary physician for over a decade and never did I see him not show bedside manners or be rude. He's thorough and I actually feel that he will do something about you being sick. I get constant colds and chronic coughs and he's been the only doctor to be able to nail those symptoms fast. I personally recommend him to anyone who's looking for an old fashion doctor that will give you the attention you actually deserve.

Dr Abroon has been my primary for almost 20 years and has been consistent in his professional manner, attention to life details with an overall approach and open dialogue to diagnosis and treatment. I have referred him several times. His staff is equally warm and accommodating. Pat Nugent

I have been seeing Dr Abroon for over 30 years. (My wife and daughter are also his patients). Dr. Abroon is very competent, knowledgeable, thorough, patient and friendly. If I have a problem, he will run all the necessary tests to determine the origin. He has a great network of doctors for referrals. Great staff. Appointments usually close to time scheduled. Manny

Dr. Abroon has been my internist for some 20 years. Fortunately I've been healthy but on those occasions when I've needed his expertise and guidance he's been the perfect doctor -- he listens well, is interested in finding solutions, is not an alarmist and, when I've needed referrals he has recommended appropriate experts.

Dr Abroon has a great bedside manner. Very warm and friendly. He’s always interested in hearing about my life and addressing any concerns I have about my overall health and well being.

Never have I had a more degrading experience with a medical "professional" before. Abroon assumed that I had medical issues simply because I was overweight. After checking my blood pressure, he said: " It's good, I'm shocked". When asked "why?" he mentioned with a "duh" tone- " Because you're overweight!". To assume my health based on my appearance is not only wrong but insensitive and unprofessional. I would not recommend this "dr" to anyone nor would I go back. Patients should feel comfortable with their doctor and I felt the complete opposite.

To refill a prescription I had to come into his office. I spent all of two minutes with him and was shocked when I saw he charged Medicare $175 for the visit!! I think that is absolutely unacceptable!! My previous internist never charged for refilled prescriptions.......

He's great so knowledgable and courteous!

Both my husband and I are Dr. Abroon's patients. He is very thorough and listens carefully, he asks a lot of questions and he actually listens to answers. He always refers us to the best specialists around, but he always tries to address issues himself as well. I have had very bad migraine problems and he helped me tremendously, unlike two neurologists that I've seen. His staff is super nice as well. They always call right away with tests results, even when they are good. Dr Abroon is very very good with dealing with insurance companies. I absolutely recommend Dr Abroon without any hesitation.

I continue to be very happy with the medical care I have received from Dr. Abroon for the past 18 years . Dr. Abroon is a compassionate and understanding and has a unique ability to foresee possible issues related to my health . I hope to be under his care for many years to come!

Rents too high, streets too noisy, subway too crowded, traffic too jammed. Why do I stay? Because there is Dr. Abroon! He has helped me through many serious medical issues and I have received the best of care. He is a fine internist and is part of an excellent network of specialists.

Dr. Abroon is a rarity among medical professionals. He takes the time to listen, answer questions and then make suggestions to help me keep healthy. His referrals have been excellent and thorough.

Dr. Abroon was recommended by a friend when I moved to NY. I have been his patient for over 3 years. He is a wonderful doctor, is very kind and thorough. He will never hesitate to get the extra medical test when I am concerned about something. I never have a problem to get an appointment, or referral. I have recommended him to some of my friends without any hesitation. It is hard to find a doctor who really cares and does not rush. He is great!

He was my family doctour for 15 years. due to an insurance mix up (which was his staff fault) he told my son sick with the flu to go to the clinic around the corner. he is smart but greedy lacks ethics and I heard him screaming at an old lady saying medicare pays to little. Stay away he will drop you like a hot potato

I was hesitant to choose an internist online, but I must say I was very impressed with Dr. Abroon. His bedside manner was one of the best I have ever experienced. He was kind and caring, and listened to me explain my history and why I was there. His diagnosis made sense to me -- he was not all over the place trying to get me to take unnescessary tests. I did not feel rushed or as if part of an assembly line. I will recommend him to my friends, and have already made an appointment for my mother!

Dr Abroon seemed very unconcearned with my issues. He had a horrible bedside manner and was very dismissive. Will not return.

I have seen Dr. Abroon for many years. He has been very responsive to me and spends time with me. He knows me well. When I have a medical complaint, he is accessible, listens to what I say, asks questions and does office tests, and gives advice. He starts with a treatment for the most common condition with the characteristics I exhibit. He follows up to make sure my condition responds as he expects, and if not, quickly gets me to other tests and a good specialist if needed.

I would like to give 0 stars but that is not an option.
