Dr. John Pieter Belzer, MD

Dr Belzer is very respectful, explains his exam and conclusions clearly, and I look forward to continuing in his care. I did not have the experience that some have related. An older woman, I did not reveal my experience as a health care professional, and felt I was treated with appropriate respect and consideration (i.e., he was neither dismissive nor paternalistic).

Dr Belzer has been my ortho doctor for many years . He is the best I would give him a12 out of 10

Dr. Belzer is an amazing surgeon. I can’t recommend him highly enough. He has done full shoulder replacements on each of my shoulders over the past 4 years. I feel great!

I am grateful and thankful to have Dr. Belzer as my orthopedic surgeon! He is the most well educated, intelligent, experienced, highly skilled, compassionate and every other positive adjective!! I was very afraid and he was very respectful and compassionate!! I had a partial knee replacement in September of 2022 and he did a fabulous job!! I am now having an issue with my other knee and I feel safe knowing that Dr. Belzer will be there for me!!! You will not be disappointed if you are fortunate enough to see Dr. Belzer!!!

Dr Belzer explains options clearly to the layman .He told what my MRI would show and it did .The surgery on my knee was a complete success and has not bothered me for 5 years. My most recent visit for the other knee was as I expected: straightforward explanation of the problem and his recommendation. I have complete confidence in his judgment and skill.

Dr. Belzer and his team do fabulous work. I just had my second full shoulder replacement done done by him. I would recommend Dr. Belzer to anyone who needs shoulder work done. I can’t thank him and his colleagues enough.

My husband had a massive tear on his rotator cuff and can't raised his arm above his waist. Dr. John Belzer was recommended to us by one of our nurses at work at ASU and sure enough we didn't regret going to him! Aside from being compassionate to his patient, he did a very successful surgery to my husband that after series of therapies my husband is now able to fully raise his left arm . Soon my husband will have another surgery and this time on his right shoulder, and we are comfortable that Dr. John Belzer is our choice of ortho surgeon. May God blesses him more for all the work that he does and benefiting his patients.

I had the same unfortunate treatment as Jill and Elizabeth, and I get the feeling that he looks down upon middle-aged women. I am an extremely athletic woman who is in early 50's. I have shoulder issues following two successive injuries. He walks into the room and basically diagnosed me with "frozen shoudler" without so much as even asking me what happened. I told him I don't appreciate his dismissive attitude and went on to explain that, in fact, there were injuries to my shoulder. He told me he could do two things - (1) cortisone to take the pain away now or (2) schedule an MRI - but either way I needed to hurry up because he had other patients waiting!!!! I got cortisone and he didn't even restrict my training activities so I went at it full bore and in two weeks I was right back at square 1. I got an MRI which shows actual injury and he still says frozen shoulder and PT. I am seeking a second opinion, even if it's the exact same diagnosis as what he made, I can't trust him based on all the loony things he said but mostly because he diagnosed me based on my age and sex NOT on what actually happened. If he had listened and treated me kindly, I may have a better opinion for one, and may not be seeking a second opinion as well.IF YOU ARE A MIDDLE AGED WOMAN WHO THINKS FOR HERSELF AND IS NOT A SHEEPLE, STAY AWAY.

I meet Dr. Belzer by accident (motorcycle) and received a plate and six screws in clavicle, and a pinned thumb. Service was excellent from the pree surgery, to post surgery, to the recovery stage
