Excellent Doctor. Had surgery 3 weeks ago for (4) degenerative discs in neck, I am free of nerve pain that existed for several months. Also want to compliment Dr. Richardson, for his post op suggestions and guidance so far.

I have been a patient of John Brayton's since 2007. I needed a spinal cord fusion and he did a wonderful job. I healed quickly. A year later, the pain continued but in a difference location in my back. He performed another fusion and when this did not work, he referred me to a pain specialist. Since that time, I have seen him on numerous occasions and he recently referred me to the Mayo Clinic where they performed a 7 level neck fusion. He had told me that he did not feel comfortable performing that much surgery at one time. So, Mayo Clinic did the neck fusion. Because this back pain has again progressed, he and a pain specialist jointly decided I needed a spinal cord stimulator which the trial of this gave me some relief. Dr. Brayton is the type of doctor who will be totally honest with you and will without question refer you to someone who might be able to give better relief. He is a brilliant surgeon and a very nice person who truly cares about his patients. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Dr. John Brayton saved my life. I had a massive tumor growing through my spinal cord in the C2-C3 area. It would be only months, at the rate that the tumor was growing, before I would have been at best a quadriplegic or ultimately dead. Dr. Brayton and his team skillfully removed the tumor and kept me alive on the table without having any in-surgery emergencies. It was highly possible that I might have a cord stroke during this procedure, but because of the detailed manipulation and unmatched skill of this man, I came through without incident. After a year now I am alive to tell you about my experience. I will not trust my life when it comes to my spine and brain to anyone else. God Bless you John you are my guardian angel.

He is truly an excellent physician and excellent human being. He will explain things in a down to earth fashion and is very compassionate with his patients. I cannot say enough good things about him and how he practices.

I have seen and had surgery performed on my by Dr. Brayton in the past. I recently had an appointment with him and to my delight he has not changed. He is a wonderful patient advocate, surgeon and very easy to talk to. I believe his plan of care is good and I would always believe in his opinion. I would highly recommend him to anyone with a neurological problem.

When I was suffering with sciatica, I aksed two different doctor friends whom they would go to given the same problem. One gave me two names, including John Brayton, and the other said there was no one better than John Brayton. He has done two of my surgeries, each of which should have landed me in the hospital for five days. Instead, with his miracle hands and the tremendous care I received at Delnor, I was out after one night for the first and two nights after the second surgery. And best of all, the only pain I had was the minimal pain following any surgery. Since then, my daughter had the same results following her back surgery and my sister, husband, and I are lined up for surgery in the coming months. John Brayton is the absolute BEST in the business.

We have delt with Dr Brayton and staff many times. Since the first visit we were impressed. Very professional and caring from the entire staff. Never wait more than 5 minutes and spends as much time with us as needed. Explains everything and answers all questions. Due to emergencies your appts. may need to be moved. Small price to pay for the best.

I had trouble from the beginning as the office staff is very specific about getting a lot of medical records, in the correct form, and then the doctor will review them before he even lets you make an appointment. They finally gave me an appointment and then called me 2 days later to say they gave it to someone else who was in a lot of pain and would need to schedule me 2 more weeks later. I was in a lot of pain myself and am unsure what criteria they used in determining our pain level having never seen me.The doctor is a typical arrogant surgeon who diagnosed me with muscular dystropy and sent me to a specialist, just to discover I had a nerve tumor and NOT muscular dystrophy (or anything even close). I would NOT recommend this doctor or his staff and would suggest finding a doctor in Chicago at one of the larger hospitals as I have received exceptional care there!

They don't come any better than Dr. Brayton!! As part of my brain cancer team for 6.5 years, I can't put into words how fabulous he,his nurses & office staff are.

When I first went to see Dr. Brayton I had spent a year going from neurosurgeon to neurosurgeon and being told that there was nothing wrong with me. By the time I found Dr. Brayton I couldn't pick up my left foot when I walked.On my first visit he diagnosed my condition, laid out a course of treatment and gave me 12 following years without pain. He was kind, unhurried and spoke "to" me, not "down" to me.

I SUFFERED FOR 10 YEARS WITH NECK PAIN. AFTER SEEING 5 DIFFERENT DOCTORS WHO TOLD ME MY LEG PAIN AND WEAKNESS WAS DO TO TIGHT HAMSTRINGS, DR BRAYTON ADVISED ME TO HAVE NECK SURGERY WHICH COMPLETELY RESOLVED MY LEG PROBLEMS AND MOST OF MY NECK PAIN. I REFER HIM TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS A GOOD NEUROSURGEON.

Dr brayton is so rude to his patients. He is aggressive and the most uncompassionate person. I have no idea why this man is a doctor. He may have a big title but he needs to learn customer service. A friend of mine has seen him too and had a terrible experience. He messed up her surgery, causing her to be paralyzed on one side of her body. He won't acknowledge his mistake and told her it was her own fault because she didn't follow up w him 3 days later. She saw him 5 days later due to his office staff screwing up. Horrible, horrible man- to put it nicely.
