Took his time with me. Answered all of my questions and cared. I'm very grateful!

Went for my husband to manage his blood pressure. Was blunt about how bad it was but I was glad he told him that so he realizes how serious it was. Totally trust his rx recommendation!

Dr Simon is the best!! Not only has he exuded patience with me time and time again, but I have seen him talking with patients in the hospital hallways. He listens and HEARS their thoughts and concerns. He has the best bed side manner of ANY doctor I have ever had! I moved away from the Covington area years ago, but I still make the 45 minutes to hour trip to Covington in order to keep him as my doctor! I trust his advice and in the past 20 years he has never let me down! I wish there were more like him!

Very knowledgeable Dr.! Has helped myself and several of my family members get resolution and efficient care through a number of health issues. My wife has recently received treatment AND resolution from Dr. Simon to issues that 3 Neurologists could not solve. I will continue to trust my care and refer others to him for their health needs.

I was referred to Dr Simon when I thought I had kidney stones. He addressed all my concerns and was very helpful. Explained my treatment plan in great detail and did not rush through my appt.

No communication with family members even when asked. Erroneous diagnosis, a lot of CYA going on. Wouldn’t let him treat my dog!

John Simon is an ego driven negligent doctor who cares more about his pocketbook than his patients. How he is the head of the Hospitalists at Lakeview is beyond comprehension. My mother was in Lakeview over a span of 4 months, and we never laid eyes on this 'doctor'. In fact, he had the NPs do his dirty work except when he wanted to know our plans for where our mother would go when she was discharged (which she was not ready to be discharged and we appealed it four times through Medicare). Not only is he an absent 'doctor' but he is negligent in learning about the patient and how to actually help them instead of neglecting them into early death. My mother was put on a feeding tube because she was having trouble swallowing, a regular thing for her. Instead of the staff taking time to help her eat, he inserted a NGT tube down her throat TWICE. Now why would you put a tube down someone's throat that couldn't swallow. When that didn't work, obviously, a stomach tube was put in and she was only being given 20ml per hour and NO fluids. That is right around 2/3 oz. Who can live on that and no fluids? Basically, he starved her to death and put her into early organ failure and death. DO NOT TRUST YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS HOSPITAL AS LONG AS HE IS EMPLOYED THERE. I will post on every site and get the word out to my community (I have a ton of contacts) until something is done to remove this 'doctor'. He needs to have his license revoked, fined handsomely and put in jail.

Dr. Simon is an amazing physician.

I can not speak to his Nephrology practice, but his other endeavors are at best unethical. Not only would I NEVER recommend him, I would do everything possible to keep Dr. Simon and especially his NP away from anyone I loved.

I saw Dr. Simon for several years after I had a kidney removed by another doctor. Dr. Simon was thorough, efficient, and kind. When my Internist left my small town, Dr. Simon became my only doctor. He kept me healthy and showed genuine concern for me and made sure that my remaining kidney was working well by ordering the necessary tests & writing my prescriptions that I needed to stay healthy. I have Systemic Lupus, an autoimmune illness that can attack kidneys & other organs. If I did not now live over a thousand miles away, I would continue to see him.

Dr SIMON WAS THE DOCTOR FOR MY BROTHER HE LIED TO THE FAMILY ABOUT HIS TREATMENT AND WHAT CARE Dr SIMON WOULD GIVE HIM. Dr SIMON AND HIS NURSE PRACTITIONER DID NOTHING FOR MY BROTHER then PULLED HIS AIR SUPPLY ALLOWING HIM TO DIE ALONE

Dr. Simon helped me and my family, thru multiple illnessess. He stood by my side, and took the BEST care of me. I am ever thankful for Dr. Simon and his staff. Amazing!

I have great respect for doctors, except this one. When my son suddenly went into kidney failure 17 years ago at the age of 18, Simon was on call. My son was near death, and his lack of compassion, even interest, was appalling. He installed him at the filthy dialysis clinic he owned with no hope of recovery. He charged for countless hospital visits that didn't exist. Luckily, we eventually found another nephrologist and my son is now doing well following a transplant. Perhaps Dr. Simon has matured into something other than the arrogant man that seemed inconvenienced by being called to the ICU that night. I dealt with him long after, and his uncaring and unprofessional behavior never improved. if I could rate him in negative numbers, I'd give him -10.

Over period of some months and approx 5 hospitalizations, Dr Simon never responded to patient or family's request for status and/or information on diagnosis, condition, prognosis. Elderly, disoriented patient discharged from hospital each time WORSE than when admitted! The physian's attendant also never returned call after last hospitalization.
