Dr. John Mccall Hicks, MD

This was a follow-up appointment after my L4-5 laminectomy surgery. My surgery went well and my recovery is going well.

Very friendly, good diagnosis, got to see Dr within 10 minutes of arrival.

I saw Dr Hicks for a consultation on my thoracic back pain. He reviewed all of my previous imaging and took x-rays in the office. I would have trusted him to do any procedure that I might have needed but his expertise determined my pain radiates from a nerve problem and not orthopedic. He is extremely personable, polite, kind and listens! Wish I could give more than five stars. Ken Schoewe

He's a busy doctor, but worth the wait. Listen to my problem and has taken care of it with a shot. Thank goodness that's all I was there for. Don't hesitate to call him, great doctor.

Make no mistake about it. Dr. Hicks’ is an excellent surgeon. He is very knowledgeable and very focused. If you want someone to make chit chat with and look at pics of your grandkids, he’s not your guy. I highly recommend him as a very intelligent and skillful doctor. He does have a sense of humor. Thanks Dr. Hicks for getting me back on the trail again.

Dr. Hicks has performed my last two spine surgeries. He has a great bedside manner as well as being conscientious and very thorough. He’s extremely knowledgeable and I trust him completely.

Dr. Hicks and his staff performed a laminectomy on me, after I was losing function in my left leg. The procedure went extremely well, and my postoperative recovery has been fantastic! The follow up visits at the clinic or efficient and thorough, yet Dr. Hicks took the time to make sure I understood the procedure, and I understood all of the potential complications and also how best to recover after the surgery. Exceptional care!

Doctor Hicks is a great Doctor. He provides a quick and accurate diagnosis with an action plan to resolve the issue in a timely and efficient manner. He is direct and to the point while treating the patient with compation. I recomend Dr. Hicks to anyone with spinal cord issues.

Dr. Hicks and his staff were nothing short of exceptional! The efficiency of the front office, was only exceeded by the skill of both Dr. Hicks and his physician assistant! The care was thorough, quick, and informative, with questions answered and follow ups readily made as needed. I saw Dr. Hicks over a year ago, just before the pandemic shut down most surgical procedures. After seeing him, I went to see a specialist at the Pardee Pain Center, where I was strongly encouraged to have a piece of titatium inserted in my lumbar spine. I mentioned that to Dr. Hicks today, and he adamantly said that I should NOT have that done under any circumstances. He injected me for pain, and will be getting me to physical therapy soon. So glad I came back around to him for that second opinion!

Dr. Hicks was a great help cannot thank him enough for his expertise and skill on a scale of 1-10 Hicks is an 11.

Does not sugar coat anything. Does however not REALLY listen to what you are saying. Always interrupts by saying, "That's understandable" ??? You'd better know what your diagnosis is and a general idea of what you want done before going because he throws so much info at you that it's difficult to make an informed decision and I'm an RN.
