My experience was also poor. He seems very knowledgeable but that gets lost in his condescending judgmental attitude. He impatiently cut me off when I was explaining an issue.

I had a shockingly similar experience like several other people have posted about in their reviews. He made me very uncomfortable when he made an inappropriate comment about my appearance. I was also interrupted and talked down to when we had a difference of opinion for my treatment.

I tried this dr. Mainly because his office is near my home but now I realize location isn't everything. I don't know if he was having a bad day or what. He seemed irritated and impatient when I asked a few questions. A couple of his replies were so sarcastic I couldn't figure out if I did something to make him angry at me. Overall an unsettling experience. I will keep looking for a better fit.

I really liked the office staff-so professional and helpful. But I don't think this doctor listened to me. After two appointments I found he was very preoccupied with his computer and cell phone for most of my appointment. Condescending and impatient when he spoke to me. Evidently I don't know my own body....baloney! I just could not take this negative tone and attitude.

I wish I had read the reviews before I saw this Dr. The office people were great. The Dr. was a different story. Very closed minded about alternative treatments.

Randomly diagnosed me, labeled me with a condition without any testing, assessment, or gathering a personal or family history that would substantiate such a diagnosis. Then once he came up with this random diagnosis, rather than begin at the conservative end of the treatment spectrum, his recommendations were extreme and reserved for cases that had not responded to conventional therapies. When I politely disagreed with his baseless diagnosis (that I had no complaints or symptoms of having) he insisted he was right. I have since found a partner in healthcare and won't be returning to this health dictator who thinks his opinion is the only one that counts!

I guess this was just not the physician for me. The treatment he suggested was very costly and experimental so there was no way my insurance would pay. When I mentioned this he just shrugged his shoulders. So I went to another doctor who offered more suitable and affordable options that were supported by evidence from medical studies and were covered by my health insurance. I had the distinct impression dr. Patz was just trying to get rid of me after I questioned him for recommending such a treatment. If that was the case, he succeeded. Its important to me that my doctor listens and values my input and that we work as a team. I did not find that experience with dr. Patz.

I have seen this doctor for several months now. At first I was very impressed with the care. He was so thorough and would take whatever time needed to listen, explain things and answer my questions. I just can't figure out what happened. Since I work, I try to get appointments early in the day and I am always punctual. For the last few visits, I have had to wait for him to arrive at the clinic. He appears unkempt and because he seems to be running late, I have lost 15 minutes of my appointment time. Since I am then left with only 15 minutes to explain my concerns, he seems very impatient and continually interrupts me, calls me by the wrong name, and even recommended a treatment for a diagnosis I do not have. I am hoping things will go back to how they were.

Field if not the best I’ve been clean for 12 years

I had been clean and sober for 46 months and on suboxone by the time I first saw Dr Patz-. I was formally seeing a Doctor that I absolutly adored but he had quit seeing patients. I don't like change and was quite nervous to see a new doctor. All that changed when I walked into Dr. Patz' s office! From the front office staff to the nurse, I felt at home. And Dr. Patz, well he was amazing!! Since I had already been on suboxone in for so long, I thought I knew all I could know about it and addiction. I was wrong. He took the time to get to know me, my history and family and didn't make me feel rushed one bit. He listened like I was the only patient he had all day. He taught me more about how addiction works in the brain and seemed to genuinely care. I was worried that he would make me stop taking it but instead told me that he was my "suboxone sponsor" and was there to help me if I continued to take it or taper down. I was so relieved. He's a great guy and I look forward to my visits with him. * After seeing him only once, I found out I had to get some wisdom teeth pulled. This would be the first thing I had to go through without taking pain meds. I called the office worried and his nurse did wonders on calming my nerves and let me know that they were there for me. I am so please I found this place!

My son has begun rehab treatment for addiction to drugs today. I am praying that all of these great reviews of the Dr will ring true for my son. My son took the steps to seek help. I haven't had a chance to as the Dr if they will treat for other underlying issues such as depression and anxiety which may open the door to using...or increase using. Why do we not have dual diagnosis in WA?

Pushes addiction as though all suffer from such. Extremely accusatory and accosting. I sincerely believe he is passionate in the field of addiction, however, gives no attention to those whom legitimately suffer from pain and require some form of relief and does not seem to understand the difference between dependence and said addiction . Sorry but this guy seems highly arrogant... If you sincerely suffer from addiction, knock yourself out... Furthermore, the staff here are jerks. Plain and simple... Unbelievable experience...

Very rude and demeaning. He told me he's not the right doctor for me after I challenged his opinions. I had been addicted to pain pills for about 9 months and he told me I had to be in treatment or I had no chance of success, which I totally understand is usually necessary but I just felt like I couldn't actually talk with him, he would only talk down to me. Needless to say I felt very helpless since he knew that none of my family were aware of my problem and I was going through this completely alone so he was literally my only confidant. So of course I found a new doctor who would give me some encouragement and hope. I've been clean for 2 years :) I suppose I can thank him for making me even more stubborn in wanting to prove him wrong ;)

My experience: Dr. Patz is an expert in his field(s) of medical practice. During each visit, Dr. Patz consistently displays his thorough knowledge and ongoing efforts to stay abreast of new evidence-based research and current treatment options available for my condition. He takes the time to educate me in regards to my diagnoses, listens to my concerns and answers my questions, and then together we have chosen my plan of care. Dr. Patz is also very accessible for follow-up care when I have had questions or concerns. At the same time, Dr. Patz has ensured that I am aware of my own accountability in following through with my treatment while being responsible for my own health care goals. I have had many, many doctors over the years of coping with my chronic illness. Dr. Patz is at the top of my doctor list for his encouragement and support, willingness to listen, and openness to discuss new treatment options. I have never had a more understanding or compassionate physician.

Dr. Patz,is a very good doctor that will help you. be a 100% honest with him and you will have no problems

No vendetta here or anything but this guy is a scam artist. He has integrity issues and some deep insecurity. Takes advantage of people in need and treats addicts as liars and lesser than him. This is interesting given his history.

He has tunnel vision. He does not accept any diagnosis except his own. He does not seem to listen. He does other things while you are talking. He should really work on his people skills. He has a list of questions and doesn't seem to want to deviate from his list. When confronted with the actual diagnosis he does alot of side stepping and blaming.

He doesn't care. Just wants to prove people wrong.
