Dr. John Patrick Schilling, MD

Dr Schilling did my Hand surgery last month, both Carpel Tunnel and majorThumb Arthritis intervention surgery at the same time. I anticipated a very high level of pain/ discomfort, I was amazed how little pain I had. Dr Schilling did an amazing job, was attentive, empathetic and very positive. I can’t thank him enough he did a wonderful job!!!

Excellent orthopedic Hand surgeon. Dr. Schilling has been my orthopedic Doc for manny years with issues with my Hands. He’s easy to talk with and not in a hurry to get to the next patient. I’ve given him reviews with no hesitation

Why aren't all doctors like Dr. Schillng? He is very approachable and assessable. He walks in with a smile and continues with a smile throughout the whole appointment. He's knowledgeable, he listens, and I trust him. He sets the bar for all other medical professionals.

Dr. John Schilling is a treasure. He listens, he explains, and he truly cares. I saw him due to a work injury, and after not making progress through Concentra, I was given a list of doctors to choose from. I'm so glad I chose Dr. Schilling. After looking at my MRI and my physical therapy reports, he gave me a cortisone injection. The cortisone did not help, so he recommended surgery, which workers comp denied. He then appealed it and won. I'm now in the healing process after having surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Schilling.

I found Dr. Schilling to be very knowledgeable and also very pleasant, gentleman. I went in for my wrist & thumb I was really having a lot of pain , and he gave me a cortisone shot which at first I said this isn't working , but it did kick in. I really like him I would recommend him , this is my opinion.

Dr. Schilling is the best!!! He saved my right hand after a bad accident that left me with most of my nerves and tendons severed. He was able to get me in for emergency surgery. I would not have a functioning right hand if it was not for him. The hand PT team is also great. He is so nice and professional. Great bedside manner! He truly cares about his patients and his staff is wonderful as well. He did such a great job when I had the accident that I didn’t even hesitate a second before going straight back to him when I needed carpal tunnel surgery recently. He and his team are very responsive when you leave messages and they always get back to you timely. I recommend him every time I get asked for an upper extremity specialist. Top notch!!!

Dr. Schilling is very thorough and has a good bedside manner. I recommend him highly.

I was referred to Dr. Schilling by Dr. Contreras (John Muir Ortho). He was recommended as hand and wrist injuries expert. My son was complaining of constant pain in his wrist after the removal of his cast. Dr. Schilling suggested more therapy. So, I spent 8 additional weeks with Therapy without results. We returned and asked Dr. Schilling for next steps. His answer was, lets get another X-Ray. We completed the X-Ray and went back again. He reviews the X-Ray and says "It's a head scratcher, I don't know what else to do". Are you serious ? His words were "you may have to live with the pain". What ? I changed my insurance to PPO. Visited with a doctor at Stanford Hospital. We performed an MRI. Then, we operated to remove Scar tissues. Problem fixed and has been for over 8 months now. I told Dr. Schilling that I will be visiting with a Stanford Doctor as I gave up on his ability to offer expert opinion or take action. He asked me to return back to tell him what the Stanford doctor found. Oh my goodness.... I gave him two stars for his ability to perform simple diagnostics. I suggest you start with another doctor at Muir Orthopedic and skip Dr. Schilling

Office staff billed Medicare instead of our primary Insurance, causing big problems for us with Medicare

When I went to the office it seemed all who entered the office was greeted in a nice professional way. Norma the rep. had a big smile when I approached the window and Renee another office worker was very pleasant. It was nice to see how all the office help got along with each other. Rochelle who took my x-ray was happy to help me and Sharon was quick on her feet to set my cast and listen to my story. Now doctor Schilling was patient an caring. So I give this office in san Ramon a 5 star rating, because first impressions does make a difference!
