Dr. John David Steffens, MD

A caring, qualified, highly experienced neurologist, Dr. Steffens was able to identify my Parkinson's Disease as I walked down the hall prior to my first office visit. He has been quick to recognize what medicines and actions should be used to give me optimum fluidity and capability. I am grateful for his training and more especially, his ability to use that training in giving patients increased years of normalcy.

My husband had Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Steffens treated him with knowledge, care and careful listening. My husband’s quality of life was immensely improved because of Dr. Steffens.

My husband had a series of symptoms that continued to get worse. No one could seem to figure it out. We got lucky and got into see Dr. Steffans and he immediately did an MRI and found the problem. He immediately referred him to a neurosurgeon and surgery was done. Had Dr. Steffans not acted so quickly my husband (as we were told) could have ended up in a wheelchair permanently or died. He is absolutely a down to earth, straightforward doctor who is great to work with!

I drive 2 hours each way and its well worth it. Super patient with me and over all he has helped!

It has been my experience before Dr. Steffens, that neurologists have no bedside manner, or tolerance for people with less understanding. I was able to take my Father-in-law to Dr. Steffens, and found him to be very plesant, understanding and kind to him. I think he treated him exceptional. He seemed honestly concerned at how my father in law was feeling and coming along with his many challenges. Due to not fault of our own, we also arrived early, and which did not seem to be a problem. He was taken in prior to his appointment time. All of the staff treated us very well. Thanks for letting me see that all neurologists are not ...."twinkies".

I have been a pt. of Dr. Steffens for over 10 years. His caring manner and accurate diagnostic skills are superb. Now that he spends over half his time in Idaho, he is harder to get an appointment with. But there is none better than Dr. Steffens, and he is worth the difficulty scheduling appointments with!
