Dr. John Talley Parrott, MD

I received a spinal cord stimulator & this Dr handicapped me as well…. I had to have emergency surgery to get it removed!!! I am so very sorry that I ever stepped into his office!!! I am truly suffering. He really should have tried to do the right thing & contact me to correct his wrong. I now have a fluid pocket on my thoracic spine, which needs to be removed but I’m afraid to have anyone touch me after Dr Parrott handicapped me!!!

Dr. Tally Parrot implanted a spinal stimulator in me... the trial stimulator worked great. Dr. Tallys did not. When i returned to Dr. Tally he told me what he did was right and I was just someone that could not be helped. I went to other drs. for help. and was told my implant was not in the correct place.

I had back problems already had 1 back surgery at 30 years old. I hurt my back in a house fire. Dr Parrott fused l-3 to s-1 it has been 7 years now and back still doing well. Thanks for your work

I took my wife in to see Dr. Parrott today. Her issue is a compression fracture of the T-7 Vertebrae. Things started of well enough but it became obvious very quickly that Dr. Parrott did not want my wife or I to speak. The more information we tried to give the more agitated he became. At one point when my wife asked to have and MRI of her cervical as well he asked where does it hurt? she started to explain he said again I ASKED YOU WHERE DOES IT HURT!!!!? Is it your mid-back??? my wife said yes but....at this point the thundered answer my question or I will leave the room!!! She tried to tell him she had cervical trouble in the past he was not interested and totally dismissive. She told him of a stenosis issue or tried to oh I guess YOU know everything!!!! He screamed....I stepped in and said wait a minute she is trying to tell you something at that point he stood up and said I've had enough my wife said we're leaving!!!! My wife in level 10 pain was treated worse than a dog!!!!

The appointments that I had with this doctor were quite a few years ago but at that time, there was no such site. I was looking at reviews for another do9ctor and happened to come across this man's name. This was the rudest, most self centered, childish acting man I have ever met. He literally yelled at me for stopping physical therapy when the therapist told me there was no more that he could do for me with PT. Parrott said he was the doctor, not the PT or me and that it was up to him to decide what was best for me, althoughhe offered no solution. I was in so much pain I could barely walk and he proceeded to tell me that I was a woman and women had bad backs and to just suck it up. I left his office in tears and sought help elsewhere. There is no excuse for a doctor yelling at a patient, or being so rude when a young woman (around 34) comes in in obvious pain. Turns out I had injured my back, and with time abd stretching it finally improved.

He is the best doctor in the state and his office personel is great.

This man is the rudest Doctor I have ever encountered! Does a poor job looking into your past medical records which he has immediate access to. This doctor couldn't tell me why I had back pain and then wanted to operate on me anyway. He could care less about what I had to say about my pain and aggressively tried to sell me his surgery and device! I felt violated and emotionally abused leaving his office.

I have been a patient of Dr. Parrot since 2008. He is one of the most carrying and talented Dr's I have ever known. He had done multiple surgeries on me and I would trust him to treat me if I require any other. He is one of the few doctors I trust completely. I would highly recommend him to anyone!!

Dr. Parrott is fabulous. He is quite honest and blunt, which may explain any less than excellent reviews. I merely find the characteristics refreshing. He is a kind, caring, conservative doctor. The best.

My husband saw Dr Parrott and he was the most unprofessional almost to the point of abusive Dr I have ever seen. My husband is disabled and has seen many Dr's in the years since his accident and never has anyone treated him/us so badly. He kept yelling at my husband to tell him why he was there. My husband answered because our family GP referred him and thought he may could see something that might help. He didn't like that answer and kept asking him, "I didn't ask why your Dr wanted you here I ask you why you were here? I was so shocked by Dr Parrott's behavior that I froze as did my husband. I have wished many times that I had came back at him, but we left feeling abused and defeated and of course billed for nothing.

I had my surgery back in Aug, of 2012. I was 26 years old at the time. I had been dealing with the pain of a herniated and bulging disk for over 4 years. Dr. Parrott offered me the one service that everybody else refuses to give me because of my age. I simply ask him to treat my body not my age. He reviewed my records, and all things that I was currently doing that did not work. Therapy, steroid injection (crazy painful), pain medications. We did the surgery, and it was a lot more painful then I imaged but, he came by everyday that I was in the hospital. Every single day to sit, and talk with my wife, my daughter, and myself. Every day, my hospital stay was supposed to be only 3 days. But due to my complication with walking I stayed 5 I believe. So I say again, everyday. Within 5/6 months I was up shooting in the gym, doing a little jogging. Within 7/8 months I was playing full court basketball for hours at a time. I wasnâ??t able to play basketball prier to my surgery for almost 2 years. So I was very excited. Dr. Parrott was a great surgeon, and a great person. His staffs were a great group of individual to be tended to in his absence. Overall great, experience. Thank You Dr. Parrott!

He was furious about the quality of the MRI that had been done, and came into the room for our first meeting having a full blown temper tantrum. I fell apart, as I needed guidance in the moment due to a serious spinal chord injury, and this doctor was acting like a two year old. He did order another MRI which detailed the serious injury and I returned to his office where he explained that I did, indeed, have a serious spinal chord issue. Though I was in great pain, Dr. Parrot wanted me to endure injections over several months. Due to the severe pain, I sought a neurosurgeon who saw my MRI and had me in a hospital, doing the much needed surgery, within 48 hours. Dr. Parrot would have been fine with me being in debilitating pain for MONTHS, and the neurosurgeon understood the high degree of nerve pain due to the injury and said only immediate surgery would repair such a severe trauma to the spine. I could not even stand up for more than two minutes, and Dr. Parrot failed to respond in a manner both me and the neurosurgeon who treated me, appropriately. Both appointments I had with this man convinced me that I could never trust him to work on my spinal chord.

I had a very good experience with Dr Parrot, he cares and show it. I had the best experience when in the hospital, he came and spent time with me everyday, he was always kind and caring. He is truly the best doc I have ever met and dealt with a better person in the medical field.

This man was a complete jerk . . . almost ended in a fist fight when I was hurting so bad i could barely stand up . . . he basicly acused me of faking my pain but operated on me anyway . . . he should not even be in pratice . . . the only reason i went there was i was in so much pain and goin tru a divorce at the same time so i was emotionally unable to think straight and had no one with me to set him straight . . . looking back he really took advantage of me . . .

My overall experience of this doctor is that he was not caring enough as I thought how doctors are to be concerning their patients mental care. This doctor did not give me the care and attention that my condition called for. I sat in the waiting area for at least two hours with others who were there long before I arrived. By this time, some of his patients started getting up and walking around the room; from sitting down so long. Not one staff member came out to inform us of the doctor's phone call they received prior to one of the patient asking a staff member, why is it taking so long to see this doctor. Then one of the staff members said that he was running late from a meeting. WOW, that was very unprofessional!! And another time when I had an appointment as was called to a room to wait on this doctor to see me ( this normally takes about 5 to 10 minutes). It took the doctor at least 1 1/2 hours to get to my room. By this time now , I am really hurting and I had to call the nurse to ask again, why is it taking this doctor so long to come in my room and she had placed me in this room for quite sometime now. All they staff did was apologized for the inconvenience. The staff is unprofessional and inconsiderate to their patients well being. We (patience waiting to be seen)told the nurse that if we had known it was going to take son long then we would have rescheduled. One lady missed another appointment with another office and had to reschedule... That is not good service to the public. The again, I was waiting for the doctor to come and examined me, but this doctor was in another patient's room across the hall from my room. I heard every concern and thing they were talking about because the room door was wide opened. I thought that this was surly invading patient's privacy and bad business. Just a few things that I saw that I did not like and how the office personnel handled them. My visits have been very limited to the bear minimum!
