Dr. Jonathan David Richey, DO

I like Dr. Richey and his staff is very friendly. I've also referred several family members to see him and I have no reason to doubt his competence when it comes to medicine. I do however strongly recommend you have his office give you an estimate in writing before having any procedures done. I had an appointment and decided to move forward w/ a very minor procedure. I discussed the cost w/ Dr. Richey and he advised me the "cash" price was about $200. They would try to run through my insurance and worse case, I'd have to pay $200. 2 months later I had the 10 minute procedure, and all his office collected was the $60 co-pay. Fast forward 3 months and now I get a bill for over $400. At first I thought it was a mistake since it was listed as 2 different procedures (at $500 each, and lowered to $200 each due to negotiated rate w/ insurance). 1 was for the incision and the 2nd was for closing. THE ENTIRE PROCEDURE ONLY TOOK 10 MINS, and I was in and out of the building in less than 45 mins. Anyway...I got nothing in writing and his office manager refused to adjust anything. In fact, they had NO RECORD of ever giving me a price. What really irked me, is the day after I got the bill and discussed w/ his office manager, I had a gentleman fix my sprinkler system in the Texas heat. He worked over 2 hours and installed a new electronic controller. HIS BILL WAS $190 and he was dripping sweat & mud, and the controller had to cost him $30-$40. I tipped him $50! Not saying the 2 professions are equal, but medical billing is down right criminal at times.

My Primary Care Dr wanted me to see a dermatologist immediately and Dr. Riches scheduled an appointment 45 min. later. I was in and out of the office within an hour. He diagnosed my problem and prescribed a cream. Also, asked me to call him the next Friday because he was so concerned. I felt very comfortably with his staff and Dr. Richie. I would definately recommend him.

Dr. Richey is very knowledgeable, answers questions and has a very pleasant bedside manner! One of the best doctors I've seen in a longtime! I would definitely recommend him to anyone seeking a Dermatologist!
