Dr. Joseph Michael Arcidi Jr, MD

With the exception of communication lacking a little bit my experience with this doctor was amazing. I had two very bad valves in which one had a lot of calcium build up. But he went in and done exactly what he said he was going to do to fix it even fixing a blockage that he had found. I feel due to him I am here today to write this review . I would also like to say he has a great bed side manner very friendly and has been by my room so far to check on me and my recovery several times. I would recommend him highly for any kind of heart surgery.

I would like to thank Doctor Arcidi for the terrific job he did giving me a new aoretic valve, and repairing my mitral valve. You did a very good job, Doctor, and I appreciate it. I no longer fight sleep behind the wheel of a car. This has been a problem all of my life. It is like getting a new lease on life. You operated on me a McLaren Hospital in Flint, MI.

This is by far the best doctor I have seen.

Dr. Joseph Arcidi met me and my family as my father was undergoing prep for a triple bypass, open-heart surgery last February. I was immediately impressed with Dr. Arcidi's kind and compassionate manner. His spirit was strong and confident, and he bolstered our spirits as he and my father went into surgery. The surgery was very successful, and thanks to Dr. Arcidi and his excellent team, my father is enjoying a rapid and full recovery at 76 years of age. Dad has returned to his normal activities -- he's very energetic and has spent this summer traveling and camping. Remarkably, Dad even enjoyed a hike to the top of the dune climb at the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore in northern Michigan within 6 months post-surgery. Dr. Arcidi is a world-class surgeon. His outstanding surgical performance and compassionate spirit are yielding immense benefits my Dad and our family. My family has a history of heart disease, and my father is not the first in our family to have open-heart surgery. We consider Dr. Arcidi and his skills a "God-send".

I was most fortunate to have Dr. Arcidi in the Flint area at the particular time that I needed him. Dr. Arcidi came out of the operating room personally to let my family know what was going on, the additional problems he had discovered, and what he was going to do. Not another person talked to my family the entire 12-hour long surgery except for Dr. Arcidi. He is very meticulous and precise in all that he does. He was always forthcoming and truthful with me. Every single thing he said would happen did indeed happen.

I had emergency quadruple bypass surgery at age 53. He's an incredibly knowledgeable and very talented surgeon, but he's a very arrogant person. He only visited me once after surgery, and when I saw him he was condescending, short and indignant towards me. Aftercare visits were the same. So I don't really know how many stars to give the guy...

I had a very bad situation going on in my heart. The surgery was life saving. But just as important was the care and attention I received before and after the surgery. The encouragement lifted my spirits and gave me the courage to push through the recovery.

I found that his knowledge, extensive training, and years of experience were diminished by his level of patient care. Before during and after my surgery, he had my best interest at heart. He watched over me like he was my own personal guardian angel.

I was really very ill when I met Dr. Arcidi. I had just had open heart surgery 11 months prior at another hospital and could not believe that I had to have another heart valve replacement. I was very skeptical of this new surgeon. I had never heard of a cardio thoracic surgeon before. My daughter looked up his credentials and was very impressed. The more I spoke to Dr. Arcidi the more I realized the compassion he had for me and his extreme interest in getting things done correctly. This combination of competence and compassion instills trust. The kind of trust I needed to feel safe in the hands of this surgeon. Once safely through the surgery, his caring manner continued through out my recovery both in and out of the hospital. This man exceeds the standard on all levels. I highly recommend him to everyone.

Dr. Arcidi is the best of the best in his field. He is a wonderful man who cares deeply for his patients. He saved my life when I had massive heart attack and needed a quadruple bypass. One cannot find a better physician. I heartily recommend him.

Knowledgeable, experienced, expert, caring, personable, angel and lifesaver are just a few descriptive words that come to mind about Dr. J. Arcidi. In May of 2012, I found myself facing emergency open heart. I had an â??aorta dissectionâ?? â?? a condition that evolved after the tragic death of my husband in 1988. I did not know about this, but this was present in my body from 1988 â?? 2012. God saw and knew I needed a guardian angel (Dr. Joseph Arcidi) in my midst. With the help of God, he is the reason I am alive today. Cardiac surgery and being personable with his patience is his calling in life. I love how he explained the problem, the procedure needed, and the risks involved to my sons. He talked â??toâ?? them instead talking â??atâ?? them. He prayed with son â?? something they mention often. Today I am healed completely thanks to the angel that traveled my road of life in 2012. Yes I am the â??Miracle of 2012â??

I was sent to Dr. Arcidi by my family doctor for a mass growing between my Heart & lungs that had to be removed. Dr. Arcidi was professional and up front about the surgery explaining what was to be done, recovery time and awnsering all questions asked. Plan and simple I feel that Dr. Arcidi saved my life and truly believe he was god sent and Mc learn is lucky to have him. Not just myself but my family would recommend Dr. Arcidi. Thank you Sir.

This doctor is either a Saint or a super hero. Just as I was praying for a miracle, he came along and did the impossible. He was so kind to my family and made them feel at ease. He is both brilliant and down to earth. He goes above and beyond what anyone expects.

Dr. Arcidi is an Angel in mine and my families eyes. He was placed in Flint about 3 weeks before my dad's heart attack, my dad need a quad bypass. The surgery was a sucess, but in the CCU my dad contracted c-dif and soon after went into septic shock and required a life saving iliostomy. He was given little hope to live. He was life support and when all hope seemed lost Dr. Arcidi along with the ICU nursing and head Dr in ICU saved my dads life a true miracle. During intese day Dr. Arcidi never left my dads side over 12 hours. He prayed along side us for God to used him as an insterment to heal my dad. He was with my dad everyday until his discharge from the hospital almost 3months later. Its been almost 3 yrs since that experiece Dr. Arcidi has continued to checking up on my dad even though he suffered no heart damage thoughout his whole experiece and no longer required his care Dr. Arcidi has been in our prayers everyday since we met and we pray for him, his family and his future patients. Our family is complete thanks to the care and strength Dr. Arcidi provides to his patients.

Dr. Arcidi is very honest and forthright. He has your best interests at HEART... He makes you feel as if you are his only patient from your first conversation through your final visit. He is compassionate about his work and his patients. He takes his time during surgery to be sure nothing is missed. You have questions he has answers. I would recommend him to anyone young or old and in between . He is a special man to us and we know GOD sent him to us in our time of need and left us with a true friend. He is a blessing to GOD and Mc Laren.

I found Dr. Arcidi to be not only highly knowlegeable and skilled in his profession but extremely detail oriented.After a very difficult 12 hour surgery, each morning while in the hospital, he called my nurse to check on me first thing in the morning(6:00A.M). He would then order changes in my medication if necessary. He never missed a day for visiting me during my 25 day stay at the hospital. Once I was home he personally monitored my progress and my Coumadin intake. His manner is gracious and kind and very understanding. Not since I had my husband at Sloan Kettering have I met a doctor of his caliber. Having him for a doctor made me feel safe and protected as he was concerned about me as a whole not just his area of expertise. I nicknamed him in the hospital as my "Mother Hen" but I felt like the psalmist who wrote Psalm 91:4 "...under his wings you will find refuge." More than once he advocated for me with other doctors and hospital administrators. There aren't enough doctors who put their energy into patient advocacy. I thank God for Dr. Arcidi. Without him I am sure outcomes would have been different, and I would not be here today.

This (I would not even consider him a doctor in my professional opinion)... man absolutely destroyed the quality of life for my father. He preformed an atrocious heart surgery for my dad, the after he "nicked" his lung decided to without any pulmonologist to agree to this LUNG procedure, put "talc powder" in his lung, to seal the hole (he caused) never gave my father or my family insight on the damage it would later cause, adverse effects, or explained the permanent damage it would cause to anyone. You could literally hear my screaming father throughout the ER (where he did the procedure) in pain because this non-compassionate (to say it nicely) man refused to administer any pain management prior to the procedure. After all was said and done, my father now has no use to that lung, can not breathe, has a constantly low oxygen saturation, a paralyzed diaphram, and can not preform any of his daily activities in life. When my father was finally assessed in Boston after all this, the MD could not believe what "Dr." Arcidi had done to my father. Dr. Arcidi has washed his hands of my dad, please from our experience do not EVER let yourself, your family, or someone you love be in the hands of this monster. He has since been fired from the hospital he was practicing at.

this doctor is not to be trusted if you care about your love ones please do not put there lives in this doctor hands please go some where else he make you all types of promises and says he the best and can't deliver. MY mom was taken away for me we trust him.
