Dr. Juan Alzate, MD

Dr Alzate performed a very difficult tumor resection on my 21 year old daughter. Was a very scary time for us. He was absolutely wonderful. Once you got used to his accent, you could understand him. He put us at ease and everything went exactly the way he said it would. Highly recommend him!!!!

I was in severe psin and could not get oot of bed without pain. The spinal surgery was a complete success and I have no pain in my back.

After 3 failed spine surgeries Dr Alzate performed a miracle for me. For over 2 years I was in such pain that I couldn’t walk and I cried every time I had to get out of bed and a good portion of the day. I am now totally without pain. My husband can’t believe it and, of course, neither can I. He’s a life saver.

Bad bed side manner, rude, felt he blamed others for everything and that he was the best. My chart was incorrect, has wrong information. He is rude and doesn't listen.

For 4.5 months I was in increasing agony. With loss of appetite, I shed over 30 lbs. Finally I was referred to Dr. Alzate. Due to my heart problems and waiting for insurance approval, it took a month before the surgery could be performed. I had nothing to lose. I woke and could stand erect for the first time in 4.5 months!

He did a good job as far as I know. Just wish my scar was not as wide as it is, but then maybe that was the best that could be done . I appreciate the care that I had when I was in the hospital at Zion Illinois. Thank you to everyone who took care of me.

I started having problems 3 weeks after surgery, my primary care doctor called Dr. Alzate and left 3 messages that were never returned. I had a new MRI which showed that the same disc had herrinated again, I had the results sent to Dr. Alzate, never received a call, I called the office for an appointment and was told I could not be seen for 3 weeks, this was less than a month from the original surgery. Called another doctor got in within a week and had to have the surgery again. I would never recommend this office, very uncaring doctor and staff.

It took us ten minutes to decide that Dr. Juan was who I wanted to do my surgery. He was professional and was straight with us explaining what needed to be done. He had us when he said he has performed up to 4 of these surgeries in a day. All went well. God gave me a miracle using Dr Juan's hands.

Performed laminectomy and discectomy in late October. I had lost feeling in my left leg and had foot drop. Staff at Cancer Treatment Center was top notch and I was able to leave the hospital about an hour after my surgery was completed. I know many people in Illinois with back issues who were misdiagnosed and had botched surgeries. My sister in law has issues that are almost identical to mine and I am trying to get her to come in from Florida to meet with Dr. Alzate and team because her idiot dr's in Florida have refused to do surgery for 7 years and she's seen no relief. I am at 95% in comparison to my previously 100% healthy body, and this is 5 weeks after surgery. I am grateful to Dr. Alzate's steady hands and experience for helping me and I would highly recommend him and any of his fellow surgeons at this location. I literally met all three between my surgery and a stay in the emergency room. The whole team looked at my file. I really felt like I was in good hands from the beginning. If you have any chance for recovery from your back issue, these are the guys who can get it done. Don't go anywhere else. Seriously.

Dr. Alzate was great. The surgery wasn't near as painful as I expected. My recovery was fast and I would recommend him to anyone.

Iâ??m extremely lucky to be taken care of by Dr. Alzate. Thank you so much, Dr. Alzate, for the phenomenal work you did on my back. My backache and sciatica were gone immediately after the surgery (microdiskectomy). Before the surgery, my leg was numb, week and painful because of the nerve compression by disc herniation. I couldnâ??t sit, walk or stand without pain. I didnâ??t need any pain killers after the surgery. I could walk for an hour in a week after the surgery. I was back to work in 3 weeks after the surgery. Six weeks after the surgery, my leg is almost recovered so I have started playing light tennis for 20-30 min. I highly appreciate Dr. Alzateâ??s staff for arranging tests, scheduling appointments and handling insurance procedures. Awesome recovery from this surgery,

Dr. Alzate is knowledgeable and personable. He explained what the treatment path would be and the office staff helped me to "fight" with workman's compensation insurance issues. The MRI staff and billing coordinator made me realize I was in the RIGHT PLACE!

I want to thank Dr. Alzate for giving me my life back! Before surgery I was almost unable to walk even with a walker! 1 day after surgery I was walking without a walker and 75% pain free. The last few days have been a little more painful. I attribute this to colder weather but we should soon see when it, if it starts to warm up. I am trying to reduce my pain Meds but am still getting a pinching feeling in my hips, which I hope will soon go away! My older brother may be contacting Dr. Alzate in the near future because he has a similar back condition.

Dr. Alzate determined very quickly what was going on with my particular problem and he took care of it in a prompt and efficient manner. He is a great doctor and feel I was very lucky to have him take care of me.
