Dr. Julie Michelle Shapiro, BHP

I was a patient of Dr. Shapiro's for about 5 years. She was completely unable to diagnose a chronic condition that I developed. To her credit, she admitted that she had no idea and recommended some tests and a couple of specialists. However, she missed all the symptoms that I was experiencing, and she was not able to diagnose or help me. A podiatrist later arrived at an accurate diagnosis and was able to refer me to the other doctors and specialists that I needed.

I LOVE Dr. Shapiro she is by far the best doctor I have had. My kids LOVE her as well, she makes them comfortable and at ease. She jokes with them and is straight forward with my teenager which I love. You can tell she really cares about her patients. I will not switch doctors ever!!! I also love her nurse Barb, she knows all our names and my son was scared of her at first now he's used to her and loves her.

I went to this doctor by a referral. What a mistake!!! She will not refill medications, her staff is extremely rude as well. Dealing with the staff, her RN or her assistant is like talking to a wall. She doesn't know what is going on and she shows how stupid she is. The doctor is just as rude and incompetent. I asked for a list of pain management doctors in my area and was told to call my insurance. What? Yea let me call up an 800 number and ask which pain management docs are in my area. I have NEVER been treated so badly in my whole life. Also, if she refers you to one of her doctors in her network and you decide to go somewhere else, she writes in your medical record that you REFUSED to go. Unbelievable! Don't go to this horrible doctor (if you can call her that). Its a waste of you time and effort. She isn't there to help you, only charge you money and push you out of the door!

This doctor is amazing. My 4 year old daughter loves going to the doctor because Dr. Shapiro makes it such a pleasant experience. Dr. Shapiro listens to my concerns and does whatever she can to help. She is very proactive and I appreciate that. I would recommend her to anyone. The wait time is typically about 5 minutes. The ladies in the office aren't that friendly but I'll gladly deal with that in order to see such a great doctor.

The first time I went to her,my thinking was... oh my I have children older then her!Well that was over ten years now, She is the BEST! She takes the time to listen,and knows what to say and do.She is the best I have found since I moved to Lake county... Love her like a daughter!

Dr, Shapiro is easy to communicate with, esy to undestand and makes me extremely comfortable.

My family and I have never had a better experience with a doctor. Anyone else is just second best. We are moving over an hour away but we will continue to go to Dr. Shapiro. She is everything you would want in a doctor and best of all, our 3 year old daughter loves and is comfortable with her and we trust her 100% with the health and well being of our daughter.
