Dr. Muhammad K Arshad, MD

I was reluctant to see a psychiatrist again because I had seen a few bad ones previously. When I faced a life-threatening crisis last year, one of my friends gave me Dr. Arshad’s name. I couldn't be happier with my choice. Dr. Arshad is very knowledgeable, patient, and kind. He listens carefully and takes time to explain things. He answered all of my questions to my satisfaction. His guidance and advice helped me through the crisis. He prescribed medications that alleviated most of my anxiety and depression. He and his office were accommodating with the paperwork I needed for my job and insurance. Dr. Arshad is arguably the best psychiatrist in the region.

I saw Dr. Arshad when I was in a grave crisis in my life. He listened and helped me through. He is truly a life saver. I saw some doctors in past I wouldn't even take my dog to. Dr. Arshad is different. He is caring , kind and compassionate plus he knows what he is doing.

I saw Dr Arshad when I was just about to give up on life. His timely care saved my life. He is kind , smart and very perceptive. He cares what you have to say .

Dr Arshad is THE BEST. He has really changed my life for better. His charges are reasonable. He ia not greedy. I trust him fully and feel very comfortable speaking to him.

I was referred to Dr Arshad by my best freind. I have to confess I was initially hesitant because of his first name. He quickly put him at ease and treated me like I mattered. He is humble and kind. I have never seen a doctor who uses his sense humor so well to help you. At one point he had me in stitches. He never put me down.I have seen few psychiatrists previously. Dr Arshad is the first psychiatrist I have ever gone back for follow up visits because I find visits with him to be truly healing. He has diagnosed me properly and I feel I am finally on correct medication.

I had seen Dr Arshad for several years before I left town after Katrina . I had bad experience with some psychiatrists in Texas who didn’t seem to care what was going on with me . I feel one of them shouldn’t be even a doctor . I was happy Dr Arshad accepted me back as his patient when I returned to town . He is caring and kind . He listens and gives me clear directions. I am happy to have him back as my psychiatrist.

I have been seeing Dr arshad since last year. I have struggled with mental illness since I was in my twenties. Unfortunately my experience with psychiatrists has not been positive. I found them to be money hungry and uncaring. Some of them were downright arrogant and condescending and should not in profession of psychiatry. One of them didn't undersand or hardly spoke any English. In contrast, Dr arshad is caring and kind . He is a good listner and very attentive to what I have to say. He made me feel valued and didn not push medications on me . He is simply the best in the area.

My fiancée and I having been seeing Dr Arshad over last several months . After seeing four other so called doctors who acted holier than thou , it was great to see a true doctor who acted like a human being ,listened to us and valued what we had to say . It was just amazing to see how correctly he assessed our situation and prescribed just the right treatment . He is very genuine and sincere . We trust him and would recommend him to anyone who needs care .

I see Dr Arshad in his Cut Off office . I was so happy to finally have a psychiatrist nearby . I felt very comfortable talking to Dr Arshad . He put me on the correct medication. His office staff is great and very responsive .

I read the above review which is contrary to my experience with Dr Arshad . I have been seeing Dr Arshad in his office over last 8 months . He has not referred me to any program or hospital . In fact his office informed me that he is not associated with any hospital or program . I find Dr Arshad caring , kind and ethical .

I know from experience. He sends patients to a type of "psychiatric hospital" that is a joke. Each patient has to spend months in ridiculous "therapy" sessions. Arshad sees patients for a couple of minutes about every three weeks. When they' are released from the facility they have to attend more group "therapy" sessions at another location. The so-called therapy is a total waste of time.

Dr Arshad helped me tremendously to deal with my illness and stressful situation in my life . He took time to listen and understand and selected the right medication for me . I found him caring and knowledgeable.

My office visit with Dr. Arshad was painless and successful. I received the utmost treatment without the doctor contributing judgmentally. I enjoyed talking to Dr. Arshad as well as figuring out my diagnosis without becoming anxious or sad. He has a comforting disposition and is compassionate about treatment both short and long-term.

Dr Arshad treated my grandmother recently in a hospital . He met my mother and me personally and called us promptly when we requested . He gave us valuable advice regarding care of my grandmother who suffers from dementia . We will recommend Dr Arshad to any family member or friend .

I wholeheartedly agree with the good reviews this doctor has received. He is great with elderly patients and very responsive to families. Our experience with care of my elderly aunt at Seaside Behavioral Center was much more pleasant than the one we had at another facility earlier this year.

Dr Arshad recently provided care to my mother in law at a private psychiatric hospital. She was initially seen by his colleague who we met but our questions were not properly addressed. W e called Dr Arshad to express our concerns. Dr Arshad responded promptly and spoke to us in a very professional manner. He met us next day in person. We were very imprssed by his concern, compassion and knowledge . He communicated with us regularly and gave us all the options as to what we could do to help my mother in law. He is one of the few psychiatrists in town who specializes in care of elderly. In our opinion he is the best.

My mother was recently treated at a local hospital where was hospitalized because of her progressuve dementia . She almost lost her life as a result of her illness prior to her hospitalization . Dr Arshad called me and my two sisters who also live out of town as do I . His calls and regular updates regarding my mother's treatment at the hospital were source of great comfort to us . We went to see our mother when she was still at the facility . Dr Arshad took time to meet us on a Sunday and gave us very clear idea as to what we had to do help our mother . Dr Arshad , along with his great staff at the hospital addressed our concerns and answered our questions . We finally decided to place our mother in a nursing home . We are grateful for the care my mother received at the hospital .

Dr Arshad saw me after I was referred to him from my attorney following a serious injury at work . I could not find any psychiatrist in town to accept me as a patient. My injury and its effects on my physical , emotional life and my family have been devastating . I was at brink of giving up on my life . Dr Arshad has provided me and my family with tremendous care . He has helped us with extensive paper work , fought for me to get initially workman compensation benefits and then social security. I don't believe any other professional in New Orleans would have done what Dr Arshad has done for us. His kind word, encouraging feedback ,wisdom and compassion keeps us going. We would encourage any of our friends and family to see this amazing physician when they are in need. I hope Dr Arshad reads this comments and knows what I said I meant and we truely appreciate his care and treatment .

Dr Arshad took care of me at a local hospital . He is caring , understanding , kind and compassionate . Treated me and my family with respect . He understood the difficult situation I was in . He has continued to see me in outpatient program . I feel fortunate to have Dr Arshad as my doctor . Would refer my friends and family members to him if they needed a psychiatrist . I think he is the best one around.
