Dr. Karen Naomi Whitehorn, MD

I was a patient of Dr Whitehorn for over 10 yrs. She always addressed my concerns about my health issues and worked with them to make me a healthier person. I hated to leave her, but I did relocate to another state. I have nothing but good things to say about her!!!

Dr. Whitehorn does not have a good bed side manner. She is mean and doesn't connect with the patient. Every time I had to see her my stomach would knot up.

Her and her nurse are the biggest liers I have ever come across. I knew I the first time I meet her that I had made a mistake by choosing her as my PCP but I couldn't change doctors for a year. She talks to you like you are a child or stupid. Anybody that gave her a good review doesn't know what a good doctor is!

I was impressed with the amount of respect Dr. Whitehorn seemed to have for my concerns, and for the opinions of other Healthcare professionals. She seems to be very professional, and objective. Her medical opinions are not based on preconceived notions. I appreciate unbiased medical observations.

The doctor's bedside manners need improvement. She appears to condensing and does not listen to patients speak about their concerns. Arrogant.

This doctor can be short during appointments.

Initially Dr Whitehorn seemed very standoffish. But after several visits we have warmed up to each other. It takes time for her to become friendly with her patients. She's a good, caring doctor once she opens up.

I have to agree.....she is very condescending and does not listen. She writes whatever she wants in your chart so be careful. She had me listed as an alcoholic and I rarely even drink. However, she ordered every test under the sun....never identified my issues. Her nurse is also very nasty. They are made for each other. Immature, Inexperienced and unapproachable. I wonder who wrote the good reviews.............

She pays exceptional attention to detail. She listens and pays attention not only to what you say, but to what you write on the intake form; and THAT in and of itself is worth more than gold. She also takes the time to actually talk to you. Gives recommendations and alternatives, in other words, she does not just dish out pharmaceutical drugs. She is a professional in every sense of the word. These are all things one should look for in a doctor. I was impressed and I am not easily impressed by anyone or anything.

Dr. Whitehorn has an especially caring bedside manner. She asks probing questions to understand your problem and actually takes the time to listen to your response. She has a good sense of humor as well. Her office is excellent about follow-up with test results or getting your specific questions answered. I am really impressed with Dr. Whitehorn's diagnostic and pharmaceutical skills. I have been a patient of hers for many years.

Dr. Whitehorn is a very good doctor overall. She is friendly, very well educated, and I would recommend her to others.

Warning! You are better off treating yourself. If you are not ill when you get there, you will be when you leave. Unprofessional attitude,disinterested,does not listen and is very condescending in tone and content.She is hostile,snarky and is in the wrong business. Not a people person. Changed doctors, also a black young female and she was a breath of fresh air. Medical issues handled and new doctor is everything Whitehorn IS NOT!

I chose Dr. Whitehorn because I wanted a female physician and her clinic is close to my home. This was a mistake. There was no real connection with this doctor. It was clear to me that she had a checklist to get through and did not wish to deviate from it. She did not pay attention to my concerns, the conversations were very one-sided, and she did not seem very interested in what I had to say. I came for a physical exam, she seemed to be stuck on telling me that I'd have to go elsewhere for birth control. I never once asked about BC. After waiting for almost 30 minutes, she ordered blood work and had me schedule a pap smear. The earliest evening/weekend appt I could get was 6 weeks later. This doctor/experience just did not work for me. If she's your only option, I suppose she'd be alright, but if there is someone else, I'd give them a try.

I have been a patient of this "doctor" for three years after leaving my previous physician of seven years because of a long commute to his office. I chose this "doctor" because of close proximity, hospital affiliation and I just wanted a female doctor. I have a chronic condition which has a pretty standard management protocol. Every time I have a flare-up, she orders every test under the sun and still fails to manage my condition. In a nutshell, she is incompetent at best. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS DOCTOR.

Dr. Whitehorn has been one of the best doctor's I have ever had. She is very intuned to her patient's, she listen's to your concerns, she orders the necessary test and sends you to the appropriate specialists. Overall, she is a caring, knowledgeable woman with great bedside manners.

Dr. Whitehorn always listens to me and sends me to the specialists I need, when I need to see them. She makes sure I get my yearly bloodwork, and keeps up with all of the other doctors I have seen, and all of the extra tests I have had to take.

when the Secretary asked if i had insurance and i replied "no", she replied "figures". my mother is dying; it's stressing me out and i can't sleep, so she recommends i go to group therapy. needless to say, a colossal waste of time and money.

I've seen this doctor twice, and both times found her to be incredibly slow. My second and last visit, I waited over an hour to be seen by her and was actually never seen. Apparently, she had taken a phone call. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL.
