Dr. Karen Yvette Perkins, MD

Dr. Perkins is truly amazing. She is one of the few OBGYNs with hospital privileges who will actually be present during your labor and delivery. She guided my family and I through the pregnancy process, and personally delivered my first child. We found her because she was recommended by the nurses at Sinai. She is detailed and competent, while remaining remarkably patient and down to earth. We are so grateful to her. I definitely recommend her for your pregnancy journey.

Dr Perkins delivered 2 of my children out of 4. I had the best OB and GYN care with her practice. I highly recommend her if she has openings. She gives you the one on one care that is desired.

Dr. Perkins has wonderful beside manners. She explained her choice of treatment for me throughly. I left her office feeling confident that my issue was addressed.

This was my 3rd pregnancy but my first time coming to Dr.Perkins she is by far amazing. She knows exactly what she’s doing an the love she has for her patients is wonderful. I have bn going to Dr. Perkins for 12 yrs. She is very thorough and always consistent. She is a sweetie pie as well. Most of my family goes to her. Keep up the good work sweetie. ??

I love Dr. Perkins but her staff are a mess. They do not do a good job of representing the doctor. They are very unprofessional and they rush through everything forgetting the care thats needed behind there attitude.

The worse front office staff ever !! Very unprofessional this makes Doctor Perkins look bad because this is the first impression your patients get when they come into your office. If you have poorly trained front desk staff representing you as a physician it speaks volumes about your concern for excellent customer service and professionalism.

Dr Perkins is the best!!! She makes you feel comfortable, she is informative and as sweet as can be! Ive been with her for over 10 years!!

Front desk staff are very rude I've experienced serveral bad encounters with the front desk staff when scheduling appointments and also upon arrival to office . Dr.Perkins however is an excellent doctor. It's the front desk staff that needs customer service improvement

Good beside manner but extremely bad service. Expect to wait an hour or more before getting your blood pressure checked (I've waited 2 hours once before even getting called to back for bp levels). Staff will not inform you of what is going on (for instance if she had to leave to do a delivery so that is why appointments are backed up) but I honestly think she double books most of the time. Staff are never knowledgeable about anything. If you call with a question, emergency or to get test results back expect to wait at least 3-7 days before she even gives you a call back. Even for my annual visits the wait time is 3 weeks before calling back to know results (which is normal) her staff only answers the phone takes your name down and then you have to wait another week just for her to call you back to let you know everything is normal. I don't understand the purpose of her staff, for this kind of service I can go to a free clinic.

My best friend was a patient of Dr. Perkins for the birth of her son and stated that while Dr. Perkins is good, her front desk staff is horrible. She was correct. This is the only doctor's office I know that does not send you a follow up email or call for an upcoming appointment. Dr. Perkins had a loud argument with one of her staff during one of my appointments outside of my room about not scheduling any more appointments for the day which was very unprofessional on her part. This was my first pregnancy at 41, high risk and she took 10 min max to answer my questions. I felt as though I was in an assembly line as she overbooks her appointments. I decided to switch to another practice and my doctor is great.When I asked her front desk what I needed to do to get my records, the didn't know. Then when I had my doctor send an authorizaiton form, they couldn't find it and then told me they have a 30 day grace period to get the files to my doctor and if I wanted to pick them up they would charge me. The front desk person also had an attitude. In addition, they will let the phone ring and VM will be full. She needs to get her practice together.

Dr Perkins is an excellent doctor. She is very personable and you feel very comfortable with her.I have been going to her over 8 yrs and now i send my daughters to her.

super caring doctor - but her clerical staff can't manage basic things. Typically wait over 45 minutes to eve get bp taken. Have had appointments never entered into system so when you show up there's no record of your appt. Have had appointments double booked with others. Have had payments never credited to account. Maybe she needs to operate with other doctors vs as single physician - could afford competent staff then?

I love Dr Perkins and have been a patient for several years. My mother and daughter and other relatives see Dr Perkins because of my referral. The only issue I have is that she has a large, busy practice which makes it difficult to get appointments and follow up is inconsistent and delayed. I had an abnormal mammogram and to date I still have not heard from Dr Perkin's ofice. For someone who is never ill that is disturbing,for someone who is also in healthcare, that is unacceptable. I expect my doctor or her office to contact me for follow up when there is something wrong.If they did not call me for this, what else have they missed??

Dr. Perkins is a great doctor. My only complaint is the wait. Even with the long wait, she never rushes my appointment and she makes sure I understand everything before I leave.

Dr. Perkins is an excellent doctor takes time with her patiens and cares but her staff is trouble please get better people Dr. they make you look bad you are to good of a Dr. to have such a bad staff.

I recently had my first and last visit with Dr. Perkins and the only thing that stood out about the visit was not how good of a doctor she is but how horrible her staff was. I was very disappointed by how inexperienced in customer care, and etiquette her staff was. The receptionist/secretary was very short and unpleasant and the two medical assistants in the office were unpleasant and terribly unprofessional. About a month after my appointment at her office, I found out the I was pregnant. I decided not to go back 1) because I couldn't get an appointment within two weeks of calling and 2)the lack of customer courtesy the ladies at the office desplayed. Still, I needed to obtain a record of all tests that were done at the first visit to take to my new OB/GYN's office so I had to have at least one last contact with these people. I asked for my records and was informed that records were only given on specific days, but was told that they could make the acception if requesting them the day of my next appointment at my new Dr's office. I called the day of my appointment to have my old records faxed to the new Dr and I was giving the run around. I finally decided to hang up and call it a lost battle. I wanted to support Dr. Perkins because she seemed like such a good doctor but there is no way I can stomach the treatment I received at the last vist, in the future.
