Dr Hansraj was kind, respectful, and considerate of my injury, job and general living situation. The staff is awesome and attentive. I had started with another ortho group but got pushed around from doctor to doctor not to mention never being able to get someone on the phone.... Dr Hansraj office answered the phone with a smile and consideration every time. If I was unfortunate to be in a painful situation with my back again I would not think twice. Dr Hansraj scores high in every category... Thank You. I can keep walking! !!!

I had several months of pain from a L2 compression fracture that didn’t heal well. After trying the conservative approach my chiropractor referred me to Dr.Hansraj. Completely pain free after minimal invasive surgery ! Best surgeon around I would highly recommend. The office staff was caring compassionate and organized.

Dr. Hansraj is an excellent doctor/surgeon. The compression on my L4-5 had gotten so bad that I could not walk three city blocks without stopping and leaning on something to stop my legs and feet from going numb. The MRI showed my primary doctor I needed immediate surgery to prevent permanent damage. Dr Hansraj stayed late that day to see me and review the MRI. He agreed and I had surgery ten days later. After surgery, all numbness had be eliminated. I was able to walk without the numbness returning at all. I also had very little pain from the surgery during recovery. I thank Dr Hansraj and his excellent staff for all they did for me.

I was recommended to see Dr hansraj after a bad car crash, was told he won't operate unless it's the only option. This I found to be the case . I drove up from long island and passed alot of good doctors on my way but felt very confident in Dr Hansraj. My surgery went well, durring the follow up visits Dr Hansraj takes the time to look after your whole well being not just the part he worked on. I am very pleased with the entire experience. Lastly his staff is very accommodating , especially since I drove so far they helped me with appointments to avoid traffic problems. I would recommend this Dr without resevation.

For at least the 5 years prior to my sugery, I was unable to live my life to the fullest. My family and I enjoy traveling, and I was limited in my activities. Walking was slowly with a cane, and had to be done on level surfaces. Because of spinal stenosis, any activity caused cramps in the front of my thighs, spasams in my lower back, and tingling in my feet. After my surgery, I do not have the thigh pain anymore. I can walk without a cane (still like one on long distances), and do not have the same tingles in my feet. Am I 100%- not really, but any aches I now have are tolerable, and do not interfear with my life...Thank you Dr Hansraj for giving me back my life!

Dr.Hansraj is the surgeon that anyone with a back problem should see. He is the best one in the field.!!!! Earlier this year , after several months of seeing a chiropractor i was in more pain than ever . I thought it might be my sciatic nerve give me all that pain and it was not give me a break. So a good neighbor of mine suggested that i should se a spine surgeon that helped him get over a very bad accident -and that was Dr. Hansraj. I call the office and made an appointment . The staff was very friendly and did not make me wait to long time to give me an appointment !!! Dr. Hansraj give me a referral for an MRI. Soon He got the result he saw right away that a herniated disc that was causing the pain by touching the the nerve!!! He immediately schedule me for surgery at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital (the former St. Francis) The day after the surgery i felt no more pain . I though it was miracle !!! Within a month and the wound was healing i felt like a new man. It had been almost 6 months of pain. Dr. Hansraj give me back my ability to physical activity again . My name is Neal Richter and I live in Highland, NY. For many years, I suffered from lower back pain. I went to many doctors and they sent me for x-rays and MRI's and all of them noted a bulge on a disc in my lumbar spine. I was told by one of them to "drop a few pounds" and I'd feel better. He said I should take up tennis to help me do that because that is what he did!! Imagine that!! I was in constant pain so much that I often had to sleep sitting up in a chair because it hurt too much to lay down!! Finally, after being put on medications and trying several chiropractors and even acupuncture to relieve my pain, I decided to make an appointment with a top surgeon at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts in the hope that he would be able to help me. I will never forget that day because I had to stop about every half hour on the drive up there to get out and stretch because I was in such pain. I saw a top surgeon there and he looked at all the x-rays and MRI's that I brought with me and read reports from doctors I had seen and the technicians who performed the x-rays and MRI's. When he was done, he looked at me and said, "I don't think there is anything I can do to help you". I was devastated. In fact, I called my wife and told her half kidding that I crossed a couple of bridges to get up there and said maybe I should just jump off one of them. Anyone who has had severe back pain knows how I felt. I returned home and continued dealing with my pain. One day I ran into a nurse I had known and she asked me how I was doing. I told her about my back and she told me I should see a doctor in Poughkeepsie by the name of Kenneth Hansraj. I thanked her but just brushed it off because I thought it would be more of the same. But finally, I figured I had nothing to lose and I called and made an appointment to see him. My appointment date came and I was brought into a room and a nurse came in and asked me all kinds of questions. I had already filled out a bunch of papers telling my history. The first thing which struck me was how nice the nurse was and how intelligent she seemed to be. She seemed more like a doctor than a nurse. (Her name is Jackie, by the way, and she is still there!!) Then Dr. Hansraj came in and introduced himself and talked with me for several minutes. At once I was struck with how caring he seemed to be. He examined me very thoroughly and then brought me into his office. He had my x-rays and MRI's up on his wall and took the time to explain to me exactly what I was looking at and what he was seeing. He made it so simple to understand and he was the first doctor I had seen who ever did that. We then sat down and he read some of the reports from other doctors and he looked at me and said, "You have a herniation on a disc which they are calling a bulge and my question is, why has no one removed it?" I felt a rush in my body and told him I was ready right then for him to do that. He smiled and then explained to me that I was only the 2nd patient that he had that month that he recommended for surgery. I cannot tell you how thrilled I was! Finally -- I found a doctor who was going to help me, or at the very least try! To make a long story short, Dr. Hansraj performed the surgery which was difficult because he was trying to save the disc by only removing the bulge. I was in the hospital just two days and I did everything he told me to do (including dropping a few pounds!) He sent me for physical therapy and within a few weeks I felt better than I had felt in almost 20 years! I was completely pain free and to this moment have never had that pain again. Needless to say, I will be eternally grateful for Dr. Hansraj and his wonderful staff. That surgery was so long ago (15 years, maybe?) that I can't even remember when it was. But over the years, whenever I was in Poughkeepsie and near his practice, I would drop in just to say "hello". He was always very receptive and always very nice to me. He even sent me one of his books and autographed it for me!! I will say this without any hesitation. I love Dr. Hansraj!! I call him "my hero". He is a special person, above the fact that he is a world class doctor! I have recommended maybe a dozen people I knew or happen to meet to go see him over the years. Anyone who has back pain should go see him! Presently, I am taking my 85 year old mother-in-law to see him and he is going to operate on her at the end of this month to help her with stenosis. I have complete faith in him and so does my mother-in-law. She has seen several doctors for this problem and I finally told her I was taking her to see him. I said if there's anyone who can help you, it's him! I don't know what else to say about Dr. Hansraj. Words are not enough to express how I feel about him. When I took my mother-in-law to see him for the first time, he came into the room and I put my hand out to shake his hand. I was smiling from ear to ear. He came toward me and gave me a big hug! He was also smiling from ear to ear! That's the kind of man he is. With all the patients he has had over the years, he never forgot me and still treats me like a great friend rather than a patient. Again, thank you Dr. Hansraj for giving my life back to me and for being one of the most special people I have ever met in my entire life!

Dr. Hansraj an excellent doctor. He did 3 surgeries on my son. He went from crawling on his hands and knees backwards to go to the bathroom to walking fine after his surgery. He is a kind and compassionate doctor and is totally on his game when it comes to helping his patients. He truly cares about his patients not just their problem. I have and always will recommend him to anyone that needs a spine surgeon!!

Dr, Hansraj is very knowledgeable about the back and spine. I went to him with two ruptured disc's where I couldn't walk sit nor stand without severe pain, after surgery I felt like a ew person. He has a great bedside manner, very honest and educated. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing back or spine surgery. His staff were incredibly helpful and friendly also.

Dr. Hansraj did an excellent job repairing my back injury. I had already tried other medical treatments (steroid injections, etc.) before seeking Dr. Hansraj's surgical help. The severe back pain I had is now gone, and I'm able to physically function again without discomfort. I highly recommend Dr. Hansraj to anyone in need of his expertise!

I started suffering pain in my neck area in 2011. I had to sufficient problem getting out of bed and performing my daily routine. I sought out professional medical help with my issue. I became a patient of Dr. Kenneth K Hansraj MD for a bulging and herniated disc in my neck area in 2011. After several examinations Dr. Hansraj concluded, that surgery is the best route to fix the issue. After surgery, Dr. Hansraj had me in Physical therapy (PT) to help migrate the pain from surgery. Dr. Hansraj provided me with literature to cope with mental aspect of feeling discourage. The book was called, “Amazing life: Secret of the Cervical Spine”. As part of my recovery process, Dr. Hansarj assistant Jackie, contacted me by via-phone twice a week for two month period. I am very grateful for Dr. Hansraj help and now I can perform my daily routines.

When I went to see Dr. Hansraj, I had already seen a number of other Spine surgeons. They all said the same thing! Their is nothing that can be done to relieve my neck pain. I had hurt my neck in 2001 and I was to the point that I could not bear the pain. Dr. Hansraj looked at my MRI's and told my wife and I he was confident that he could relieve my pain. Dr. Ken is an excellent doctor who gave me my life back.I don't walk with any pain shooting down my legs.I enjoy taking hikes again and can enjoy going on vacation again! There is no other Dr. out there that will ever do the outstanding work that Dr. Hansraj does.He wrote his own book,signed it and gave it to me.That alone meant the world to me!
