The male Physician’ Assistant makes me very uncomfortable at Cedar Hill office

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! This place is horrible starting with the front desk. They have no customer service skills, rude, unprofessional, all they care is collecting your copayment. Not a very welcoming place. Dr Aftergut spends no more than 10 minutes with you and never lets you speak. He wants to do all the talking. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE

After suffering since 2013 from severe excruciating plaque psoriasis that I was hospitalized for pain control because no dermatologist in my area could treat because they had never seen a case so bad, I found Dr. Aftergut recently. I travel from the San Antonio area to his Cedar Hill office. This doctor was able to treat my severe psoriasis in a matter of days, and I am ever so thankful to his kind and caring staff for going above and beyond the call of duty to help me with getting an urgent appointment and my insurance issues. I am suffering no more people, I don't burn or itch anymore and cry from the pain. I feel human again, he gave me back my life, I can go out now and not scratch and tear up from the pain and be embarrassed. Thank you, Dr. Aftergut. I would highly, highly recommend him and his caring staff to anyone that is suffering that I way I did. Thank you over and over again Dr. Aftergut and your beautiful staff, I am ever so thankful to God for leading me to you and your staff. I am happy to show my before and after pictures.

He tries to direct patients to the pharmacy of HIS choice. That is just wrong.

I previously wrote a review regarding Dr. Aftergut's billing office and the communication is I had with them. To my surprise I received a call from his office later the same day and the nice lady told me that all had been taken care of. They wrote off the bill as they wanted to keep me as a customer and a patient which was more important to me than the money. This says a lot about this office, I always loved my PA, Bethany but I now have a great respect for this office and it's commitment to their patients.

Beautiful office. Efficient staff. Doctor took time and listened to my concerns. Was very very happy.

Told me what I had as soon as he walked into the room. . . and he was right.

I went for a rash but he asked if I would like to get my moles checked. I was very thorough. I found a suspicious spot on the my back that ended up being an early basal cancer. I didn't even know that it was there. Now I get yearly skin checks from Dr. Aftergut. He is a very kind and thorough doctor. I highly recommend him.

The best in Dallas. My PCP who I love even goes to see him. He is quick, caring, efficient and brilliant.

My psoriasis has for years been ignored by so many doctors including 3 other dermatologists. They would give me creams and a pat on the back. Dr. Aftergut asked me how much it was affecting the quality of my life. No doctor had ever asked that before. He said that treatments for psoriasis have improved over the last few years. He game me a biologic treatment. His staff taught me to give myself the infections. I went from most of my body covered in thick red scaly patches to completely clear in one month. I have worn shorts and short sleeves this summer for the first time in a decade. I highly recommend Dr. Aftergut and his staff. You will not find a better dermatologist anywhere.

I saw Dr. Aftergut based on the recommendation of my primary care doctor. He had tried several different treatments for a rash that was giving me trouble. Dr. Aftergut immediately know the condition. He said it was rare but not dangerous. He wrote the name of it down and encouraged me to do my own research on it as well. His treatment had me better quickly. I am going to bring my teenagers to him as well to treat their acne.

I came away from this experience feeling stupid for making an appointment. Aren't we encouraged to check out potential skin cancer? I did make an appointment for a spot that concerned me. The initial assistant that helped me to a room was very kind. The next one that came in with the doc was not. The doctor dismissed my concerns, cut me off in mid -sentence, told me there were over the counter items that his assistant would give me a list of, and that he would give me two prescriptions. The assistant then asked for my pharmacy. Since all my meds are by mail, I explained that I did not have a regular pharmacy and would prefer a written prescription. She then began giving me a variety of addresses of a particular pharmacy. I explained that I would need to find one and asked for a written prescription again. She responded that she would just send it to a particular pharmacy at such and such address. I again explained and finally asked, "Don't I get an option?" To which she responded that I would have to sit and wait for him to write a prescription. Like it was punishment. Like I was a bad child. When she did finally give me a prescription, she forgot the list of suggested over the counter items and told me next time to know my pharmacy's address. I came away feeling like I never want to go back there again. Between the doc being dismissive and the assistant being snippy, forget it.

I went to Dr. Aftergut since Dr. Carter was not available. My appointment was due to an allergic reaction and instead of prescribing medicine or itch cream he examined my current symptons, noticed it wasn't as bad as 3 days ago and said I can give you a recommendation for an allergy specialist, shook my hand and charged me $99.00. He spent less than 5 minutes with me. I will NEVER spend another dime with him. If he could not handle my situation the receptionist should have provided an alternative to me coming into his office for an appointment.

I had been to other docs including PCP but had not gotten anywhere with my rash. Went to see Dr. Aftergut and he diagnosed me quickly and I was better in less then one week. At my followup he suggested I also I do a full skin check to make sure I didn't have cancer and he found a precancerous mole I did not even know about. Very thorough. Will now see yearly for skin checks.

They forgot about me in the exam room for about four hours. I came out to see how much longer and everyone was gone, doors were locked, and the cleaning crew were on their way in. Not very professional.

Beautiful office at Medical City. Staff was nice and got an appointment is less than a week. I had been to my primary doctor and a Care Now with no help for my rash. Dr. Aftergut immediately recognized the rash and correctly diagnosied it. He spent time going over the condition and what to expect. Will definetly go back if I ever have a skin issue.

Took my son to his pediatrician and another dermatologist who told me to leave his moluscum ( kind of like warts) alone. They kept spreading so we went to Dr. A. He put numbing cream on them and was able to almost painlessly remove them with a small sharp device. Dr. a said it might take more than one treatment but he was clear after just one. Highly recommend.
