Went to see him after a fall injury that has left me with constant sorenesd and pain and was basically told to "get my ovaries checked!" Really?!!! He did not care one bit about trying to find the cause of the problem and did not care one bit about the patient in front of him. I do not recommend him to anyone, he wasted my time and money. I could have gone to someone who actually cares about his patient's well-being.

I have never encountered a more rude and arrogant physician. Why so arrogant? Why so pompous? This guy needs a refresher course in bed side manner and common courtesy.

Unfortunately, they won’t help with your required paperwork needed for your employer. If you work big oil, chemical or government you can’t get documentation filled out. Unfortunately you are left high and dry with no understanding for your work requirements . If you have a job requiring paperwork look elsewhere, don’t get pulled into a nightmare.

I am so thankful I chose Dr McCarthy to do my back surgery. He truly takes pride in his work and his knowledge. He may my talk a whole lot like us Southerners, but I tell you what, it’s cause when you are talking to him his mind is already working to see how he’s going to fix you. So from my own experience with him I give him a big thumbs up and say God Bless You and your team and staff. Y’all are the best

I was scheduled for an epidural injection that he screwed up, lied about, then threatened me over. Would not recommend; stay away!!

This Doctor Dont care about your life I was a Referal from lake hospital I have Ins and he would never do this to one of his family are friends i am 60 years old and I have a paper from lake hospital in walker to see him are Christopher and both after knowing I was brought a wheel chair but security seeing I was in pain sent me away with no help with a blood Presure at 200 from the pain

Dr. McCarthy is a wonderful physician. He fixed my many years of back pain through a minimally invasive procedure that no other surgeon in the area is offering. It has been over 2 years and I still have no pain. Would recommend him or his awesome staff to any of my family or friends.

I feel fortunate to have Dr. McCarthy as my doctor. He is focused, knowledgable, skilled, confident and respectful. After two cortisone injections and nerve medication that did not last I chose to have ACDF surgery. This was a process of learning and accepting what was and what could be with medical technology. The entire team, especially Christina Landry, helped me through this last year's journey with their expertise and capable guidance. They have proved themselves to be the very best when it comes to spinal care. Thank you all.

Overall, my surgery went well, I am happy with how my issues seem to be "fixed" after surgery and 3 years of PT. I do think he's a competent surgeon - that said, I found Dr. McCarthy to be rude, arrogant and NOT interested in "seeing" me - I only saw him once out of many multiple appointments over many months. His bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired, to say the least. I will say his assistant who I dealt with was professional, sincere and very personable, she seemed to listen and care. I would go back to Dr. McCarthy for any issues, but would have much lower expectations regarding seeing HIM and having HIM treat me. I found the rest of the staff to be pleasant and easy to deal with in regard to appointments, etc. The office wait times are horrible - period.

A year after surgery and I need to wait over a month for an appointment. Staff rude when I persisted to get an earlier appointment.

Wait time is long and check in is overkill with checking in on 2nd floor and waiting to be called to go to the 3rd floor then checking in there and waiting a long time to go to a room. If you could just check in at 3rd floor for all follow up appointments it would not be so bad. Dr McCarthy is great. He is kind and listions the nurse practitioner on the other is a waste, she always seems to have better things to do then help trest you.

Cervical injurywith surgery two levels and soon to have lumbar surgery

I was referred to Dr. McCarthy last year. I told him I wanted to be pain and drug free. I was tired of 5yrs of shots and pills to manage my life. He looked at my scans and said I needed cervical fusion and lumbar discectomy. Said he would have me pain-free in a year. So I did the cervical fusion. The recovery was hard but I felt immediate relief so I went back for the lumbar discectomy. It never bothered me that I only saw him 1 out of 5 visits. Except 2 weeks after the discectomy he decided to grace me with his presence. He sat down, told me to stand and take off my brace, he looked at my wound with its dissolving stitches and said "looks good, I'm gonna cut um" my husband asked why if they dissolved, McCarthy said "why not? It looks good". Three days later I was in OLOL with a spinal cord infection, ten days later I left with a wound vac, a PICC line, and a home nurse. When I went to his office he said it was my kids fault for spreading germs near an open wound. Two months later I have healed but my latest scans show more damage than before the operation. Run away.

When I saw Dr. McCarthy he came in and asked if I new who he was. I had always saw his nurse practitioners when I came so I assumed it was him. I told him no and I assumed it was him. He was very rude and arrogant after that. I guess I didn't stroke his EGO!! He said huh, everyone knows who I am. I figured it was a joke but he was very nonchalant after that. He disregarded how I felt. I told him the meds were making me sick that I was prescribed. He said "stop taking them with an attitude". Never recommended anything new. then when I made it to the pharmacy that afternoon, I had the same medicine called in that I told him made me sick. I will NEVER, EVER, EVER go back to see this man. His is so rude and has no concern for his patients only his pockets.

I waited appx. 2 hours to see McCarthy. He comes in goes to the computer; ask me my pain level and where I was hurting. He told me I would be injection in three places. Never explained or showed me my MRI. I have never been to a doctor with such lack of concern for a patient. I did not want to be his best friend, just wanted to be treated with respect. I cancelled the procedure because I did not feel comfortable with this doctor. When I tried to tell him my complications; he totally dismissed me. I left his office feeling very disturbed.

Do not go to this doctor if your in pain. Regardless of the severity this doctor does not believe in pain meds and will not return your calls. Also this doctor does not believe in seeing his patients, he has nurse practitioners and physician assistants for that.

I hate to say anything bad about anyone but Dr, McCarthy has ZERO bedside manners, & he & much of his staff made me feel like "just another number". Out of the 3 times I have been to the office I have seen 2 different PA's & only Dr. McCarthy 1 time for maybe 5 minutes. I think he is a very competent Dr, however, I feel very uncomfortable around him & it's very clear he has little compassion. Also, be ready to wait for a while in the waiting room.

I have had 2 neck operations with Dr. McCarthy and he is a wonderful doctor. He has always been there for me through some rough painful times in my life. Anytime of the day or anything I need he was there to provide me with wonderful care . For anyone out there suffering from a neck injury I would highly recommend Dr. Maccarthy. If you one the best care, knowledge and wonderful staff I would make your apt with Dr. Kevin McCarthy today. He saved my life!!!!
