Dr. Kurt Mui Hong, MD

An exceptional doctor. I have been associated with many doctors within my career.. Dr. Hong is one of the top two. He is very prompt, well organized and professional. Seldom have I found a doctor who is so very knowledgeable and who is willing to spend the time with me. I highly recommend this gentleman. If you have a problem and you have searched the field, take the time to make an appointment. Your life is worth it. I have been going to him for 9 months.

I started going to Dr. Hong because my wife was seeing him for weight loss issues and highly recommended him. I have had bariatric surgery and have a host of metabolic issues. Dr. Hong has been on top of every problem and addressing them as they get sorted out. Some have said they felt rushed, never felt like that. But, he does talk VERY fast and always has a lot of information for me. I was go to my appointment with a list of questions/concerns that I have and so I can take notes while he is talking with me. I have found both of those essential to participating in my health care with him. Like many others I am so appreciative of being able to communicate with him via email. He is always prompt and helpful with his responses. While I have another Dr. I think of as my primary physician I find myself moving toward him in that role. The one thing that would stop me from doing that is that it does often take time to get an appointment with him. Still, I would highly recommend him!

Usually i am scared of doc visit but his staff was cordial. Easy time checking in (except for first visit, had to fill out too many paperwork), but liked his office now does everything online or by email. this makes refilling my medications so much quicker. Dr. Hong is really careful with monitoring all my yearly prevention stuff so I don't have to worry. 2 thumbs up!

Moved from Miami to LA about 2 years ago. Was looking for a general internist. Was told about Dr. Hong by a friend. Very happy overall, Have seen Dr. Hong 5-6 times over the past 2 years, always professional and courteous. The doc was able to answer my usual many questions. I really find his his email communications so useful since it made things like medication refills, questions, getting appts etc. so much simpler. Happy camper here!

My husband and I have been with Dr. Hong for the past 7 years. We really like the fact that he spends a lot of time with us. I am bit hard of hearing but am really glad we found someone who genuinely cares. Because of my hearing handicap, having his personal email for access and simple questions really help to facilitate medication refills and needed referral much quicker. Will certainly recommend to others.

Been with 4 different primary doctor past 14 years, Dr. Hong is probably the most detailed and organized. Office well run and loved that he has free email access for patients to contact him anytime. Really feel like he is up to date on all the medical info and treatment recs. Will definitely be sticking with this doc!

I have been with Dr Kurt Hong, 1 1/2 yrs he works at finding the answer to your health issues. If not he finds a doctor who can. He is quick, organized, and courteous at all time, also caring to you.

Dr. Hong is a wonderful, caring, intelligent doctor. Some of the reviewers have said he's rushed but he will take as much time as you need -- just have them call him back. He will be more than happy to answer any questions

Seen Dr. Hong now about 5 times. Liked his promptness and access with email; I always have questions that I forget to ask during visit and he is pretty good with answer emails. He is good with accurate diagnosis and particularly has in depth focus on preventive care. He does a detail screening for me every 6 month on early diabetes, cancers, and heart disease. Only isssue is he does not have weekend hours but otherwise very accessible. Definitely will recommend.

Been seeing Dr. Hong for diabetes and weight issues for 2 years now. Overall happy with care and really liked his email system in communicating with me (I wish more doctors would do this). Been easy to get appointment but even better when he saves me trip to the office by answer questions by email. Very professional and knowledgeable. Have recommended my parents and sister to his care as well.

As a previous reviewer mentioned, though you may think the visit is NOT over, when he exits "he does not return to the room", as one would expect, to end the conversation or give you scrips, etc. No,his helper does that, as he's long gone by then. So any last minute issues go unheeded requiring another appt. Also, his practice is split between internal medecine and nutrition, and though he's a very bright guy, I'm not sure sufficient attention can be paid to both specialties. Thus I always feel my appt. is rushed. 10-15 minutes for an annual physical is not enough. He also seems very rushed and pre-occupied, and the follow up you expect often falls through the cracks.

Happy with how Dr. Hong listened to me. Have had previous docs who rushed the visit. Was there for 30 minutes getting me medications and making sure all my issues are addressed. Parking was a bit tough but staff was friendly. Loved his email communications which minimized playing phone tag. Highly recommend

Looking for a new doc since my previous physician went concierge. Found Dr. Hong on Yahoo and after 2 visit, really felt like he really cared about my issues. Spend 0.5 hour each visit and not rushed. Got all my questions answered. Seemed quite up to date on all the new testings and recommendations. Have referred 2 other friends.

Dr. Hong has been taking care of my family of 4 for the past 2.5 years. While his schedule can be often full, I really like his attentiveness to details when it comes to screening, testing and most importantly, taking the time to explain to me my problems and issues. He is also the only doc I know that has an easy email communication system which comes in really handy when I need refills or other simple things to be taken care of.

This doctor is smart and intelligent. My beef is this, after my visit with him, if I forget something he does not return to the room like you think he will. Then try and get him to call you back or see him soon, you get a 4 to 6 return visit. If you do not mind seeing the doctor and waiting the 4/6 weeks he then is worth your while. Also, my fault I am always running late, so I miss my appt., then have to wait 4/6 weeks to see him. I just wish he would return his calls, so I don't have to wait the return visit, which I am just paying to just talk to him relating to the last visit and by that time I forget why I am there.

Seeing my whole family of 5. I have diabetes but since Dr. Hong took over my care 3 years ago, under good control. I really appreciate that when my wife was hospitalized, he came by daily to see her.

Been with Dr. Hong for about 1.5 years now, spanning 4-5 visits. Each visit, spends at least 25-40 minutes with me. I got 4-5 issues which needs to be addressed each visit and never feel rushed. Courteous staff (particularly his MA Eva). Love his email system which allows for rapid communication back and forth instead of playing phone tag. HIGHLY recommend

Dr. Hong has been my physician for 4 years now. He was the first physician to pick up on my diabetes along with instituted better control for my asthma. Each visit I was able to discuss my questions with him in detail. Love his email correspondance as a bonus.
