Dr. Kurtis Richard Hort, MD

Dr Hort and the staff at Southeast Orthopedics have been great thru my entire ordeal with a tibial plateau fracture. Dr Hort explained everything to me from my first appt. as to what it was, how to go about repairing it, recovery time and long term prognosis. I’m very thankful my primary care Dr referred me here!

Always greeted with a professional staff. Dr Hort and Brian ARNP are always efficient and very easy to communicate with during all appointments. As usual always a pleasant experience!

Dr. Hort was courteous and efficient. He immediately identified the problem and an intervention. He also educated me on new surgical and medical techniques to address my diagnoses.

I would add my praise for Dr. Hort and his staff. All were friendly and helpful. Dr, Hort listened carefully, reviewed my records and was thoughtful about how best to address my ankle and foot problems. I appreciated his honest opinion about how best to handle each issue, one with surgery and one on hold for now. Looking forward to the surgery and further care afterwards.

Starting with the office staff, to the x-ray technician, Dr. Hort’s assistant, and then Dr. Hort, I give them all five stars! Everyone was friendly and easy to talk to. Dr. Hort listened to my concerns, had a plan of action that I agreed with and we will go from there. I feel confident in his expertise, experience, and assessment of my situation.

Made my appointment specifically with dr Hort far in advance in hopes to talk about my issues. Took the work day off and had a babysitter for my kids so that I could discuss with no distractions. Upon telling intake that my hands hurt worse than my knees, he refused to come in my room and sent the nurse practitioner instead. After 5 minutes with the NP, I was sent away with a generic prescription. Big waste of my time.

Pleasant, thorough in his explanations of need for precise, testing for accurate diagnosis of whether or not there was a fracture in my right leg. He was thorough in his gathering of facts and information to make a good decision to get an MRI of my leg. I am very grateful he was able to see me on the same day I requested an appointment

I found Dr Hort to be disrespectful, in that he did not consider it necessary to introduce himself. He was disinterested in my condition, jumping to incorrect conclusions before appreciating my symptoms. Lastly, he caused me unnecessary concern by inappropriately suggesting that I might have a life changing condition - withdrawing that only upon challenge. I would not recommend this doctor.

Everyone in their entire office is nice. If they’re in a bad mood, I cheer them up?? remember everyone is going through something you may never have to deal with so let’s be nice first! Dr. Hort is the best!

Dr. Hort is straight to the point discussing your problem and thorough. Front desk staff and back room staff all friendly and efficient. My only complaint is the people you speak to when making an appointment. Two out of three times when trying to make an appointment, they were very rude.

Retired RN here... really appreciate the professionalism and how quickly I was seen after injuring myself on the last day of my vacation, out of state...Dr.Hort and the entire staff really deserve ten stars ??????

I've been a patient of Dr. Hort's for many years now. He always runs on time. He is compassionate, explains things, great bedside manner. I highly recommend him if you are having any ankle or foot issues. Friendly and competent office staff.

Dr Hort has done surgery on bunion and hammertoe on both my feet in the 2+ years I’ve been seeing him. My feet are both fixed and I have no more pain. I am so grateful for his expertise and his kindness. The staff is all wonderful, too. Great experience

Dr. Hort has been treating me for Morton’s Neuroma for a couple of years now. He is very knowledgeable and has been spot on with his recommendations. The office staff, nurses and technicians are very pleasant and efficient. Before seeing Dr. Hort, my previous insurance sent me to a podiatrist who did not do any type of treatment but did offer to sell me some expensive shoes!
