Dr. Larry Wayne Epperson, MD

I cannot adequately describe the positive experiment I had with Dr. Epperson and with his staff. He was empathetic and knowledgeable. This was my first appointment and I will continue to see him.

The first thing that came out Dr Epperson "you know Dexerdreine won't work long term for weight." I spouted back to him, "if you bothered to look at my chart you would see that I take it for Narcalepsy." He then walked over to me and put his hand in my knee and said "I'm so very sorry" After that he made no sense to me on my condition. My opinion is, he's a jerk.

I've had back issues for the past 20 years and visited several different chiropractors and other back specialists. After an MRI, Dr. Epperson found my problem and set me up for some rehab. I finished the rehab and have followed their recommendations for stretching and after 5 years my back has been much better. Highly recommend him

Dr. Epperson is one of the very best doctors that I see, and I have several. Neurologists focus on the brain, etc.. Everyone with a brain should utilize Dr. Epperson.

Dr. Epperson has taking care of my multiple sclerosis and headaches for 12 years and I think he is the best!! He is so knowledgeable and very caring. I see him regularly and so happy with his care for me. His nurse, Sue, is the best too!!

I have been taking my father to Dr. Epperson for 7 years after he suffered a stroke in 2001. We both are very fond of him, thankful he is our doctor and always look forward to his appointment. We are always treated with kindness and Compassion and I know he has helped prevent my father from more strokes. Just wanted to write how thankful I am!!

went to see him for a nerve test due to diabetes. Test was performed by his staff who were unconcerned and non-caring. Epperson came in with an intern after he read the results, and started spouting off what my problem was, which I knew anyway. He never conducted any type of physical exam and did not ask me any questions. He had an intern with him and was trying to show off, and asked me if I could comprehend what he was saying. If he had taken the time to talk to me he would have learned that I was very familiar with medical terminology, having worked in the field for over 20 years, plus had a master degree. What a jerk!! Besides, he did not offer any treatment alternatives. I have not been back and will not go back. Any future needs will be taken to UAB or I'll see one of the other physicians in that group.Just don't waste your time on conceit!

His "bedside manner" could use his mprovement. I felt he had no time to discuss my issue as he stood the entire 15 minutes hedging toward the door.

He is a wonderful doctor and a fine man.

I like Dr. Epperson but I dread going to the appointments. Every time I go there I have to wait two hours past appointment time before seeing the doctor. Once I asked Terry, the lady who worked with him, a question and she seemed annoyed and said she had other patients to see. They shouldn't say that to anyone after making them wait for two hours. My appointments always lasts for 7 to 8 minutes or less so I didn't think I was taking too much of her time. They should stop over booking.

We love Dr. Epperson!!

Wonderful Physician.

I met Dr. Epperson for the first time when my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. It was a very hard time for my family, but Dr. Epperson was kind and took the time to explain the disease to us and answer our questions. I'm thankful to have a doctor who cares for his patients and their families. My dad loved him and actually looked forward to appointments.

I was referred to Dr. Epperson 3 years ago, and he has been so kind and caring to me. I have severe headaches and Dr. Epperson has taken the time to make sure the medicine he gives me is working, and that I am getting better. He is a genius and sometimes thinks very fast, but only because he wants what is best for his patients. He is a family man and also a strong Christian. I highly recommend Dr. Epperson!

I went to Dr. Epperson for Migraine headaches and was given medication. The side effects were horrible. When I explained the problem I was told to increase the amount. He never say me or asked if I was taking another type of medication, which could have caused the problem. When he comes in to see me he never puts his hand on me, even to say hi or goodbye, just ask questions and give me more medication.

Thank goodness I was referred to Dr. Epperson by my family doctor. I have been suffering with headaches for 14 years and no one has been able to help me. Dr. Epperson was willing to try different medicines to break my migraines and this has changed my life. I am so thankful for his kindness and the time he took to help me.

I have read several varying reviews on this website and I don't understand how anyone could have anything less than a great experience with Dr. Epperson. He is the best doctor I have ever encountered. He is brilliant in my opinion. I have been seeing him for over 10 years now for Neuropathy and he is very personal with me and my family and always responds kindly and professionally to us. I honestly don't know what I would do if I didn't have him to call on. If you want to get to know him, just talk with him and ask questions at your appointment and you will love him.

I became Dr. Epperson patient for unrelenting Migraine in the late 1980's and continue to see him still in 2013. I owe a lot to him through the years for the empathy and compassion he has shown me over the years. He was phenomenal to both me and my family years later when he had to deliver the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis to me. I still suffer Migraine and MS but he and his nurse Sue have done every thing humanly possible to help with me, prescriptions, paperwork and dealing with my insurance. He has also treated the emotional part of me and I can remember one time years ago I had an appointment and was so depressed and suicidal that I could not physically get it together enough to go to the appointment so my mother went in my place and told him how badly I was doing. He took the time to pick up the phone and call my house several times until I would answer and talked to me about my suicidal thoughts and made me PROMISE to call him before I ever did anything to myself. The fact that a doctor cared enough to get personal when I needed it more than I have ever needed anything before in my life. Dr. Epperson is a straight shooter and as his patient I find it works by shooting straight from the hip as well. I try to be a good patient by doing what he asks of me and in return he has treated my illness with decisions we make as a team. He has never once let me suffer from either of my illness if he could help it. He has teared up when I have cried and he has prayed with me when I would become hopeless. I know God along with Dr. Epperson is the reason I am still walking today. I tell people if you don't think your doctor is the BEST EVER, then they are going to the wrong doctor. 20+ years and I am not going anywhere anytime soon!

For 2 months we were trying to figure out why my wife was having TIA's. Most if the tests were coming back normal, so he couldn't figure it out. Finally, my wife had what was believed to be a stroke and spent 4 days in the hospital. We went back to Epperson hoping to find some answers but he didn't have any. Instead of trying to help us figure this out, or point us in the right direction of someone who could. He just told us that there was nothing wrong with her and that we were wasting his time. I have never been so insulted by a doctor in my life. Even though she had physical symptoms of a stroke he couldn't tell us what to do. Even went as far to say that my wife was making it all up. The only thing I can figure is that since he didn't know what was wrong, he was upset and just assumed we were lying. We are back to square one and are starting fresh with a new Dr. to try and find some answers, since she is apparently a medical mystery. Don't waste your time and money unless you have a positive diagnosis to start with because he sure isn't going to spend any time trying to figure anything out that can't be solved with a blood test.

I have taken my father to see Dr. Epperson 3 times now and I don't know what I would do without him and his staff. My dad is doing very well with the excellent care he has received. But their office is very busy- The waiting room was full. But we got in fast enough and he took great care of my father. It did not take long at all, especially considering how many people they are trying to take care of.
