Please do not have surgery by this doctor.

I drove 2 1/2 hours of constant traffic from Orange County and it was worth the drive. I marked excellent in every category here because I had been to several people professional and two orthopedic surgeons before I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Dr. Hunt. The other folks were fine but there is a difference.

Takes his time, doesn't push you to have surgery

Dr. Hunt not only misdiagnosed me but he also made my back worse with his lack of surgical skill. He likes to pretend he knows what heâ??s talking about and doing but in reality he doesnâ??t. After his surgery my back hurt more than ever and I wasnâ??t able to work for months. He never admitted to his blotch job. I had to have another surgeon fix his mistake. Luckily Iâ??m better now and can function like a normal person again thanks to a surgeon who knows what heâ??s doing. STAY AWAY from this guy and donâ??t fall for his false persona of confidence and knowledge. In my opinion, he should have his medical license taken away. He is far from a â??doctorâ?? and more like a butcher.

This was the least compassionate Doctor I have ever seen. He actually said to me, â??You donâ??t need surgery, there are lots of people walking around out there that are a lot worse than you.â?? I have age related Spondylolisthesis and have been in pain for over four months. I am thankful I was only seeing this Doctor for a second opinion. When a person has received a diagnosis and is using medication they need questions to be answered. When I asked him questions he behaved as if I was foolish for asking him anything at all. He didnâ??t even review my MRI with me.

Dr Hunt performed surgery on my spine he was MARVELOUS!!! Thanks to him and his knowledge and such precision no one can even tell I had surgery. I'm doing remarkable well and feel like myself again. Thank you Dr. Hunt for your outstanding care, knowledge and ability. The Hunt Brothers are "The Bomb" I would highly recommend both doctors. What a team and great staff !!!!!

I was referred to Dr. Hunt for my chronic back pain. At the time I was about 19 years old and when I went in for my appointment the outcome was unpleasant. A young girl by herself, Dr. Hunt came into the room with another man ( without asking my permission) ,someone who was probably observing, asked me to do some kinds of stretches and diagnosed me in a sexist and chauvinistic way by saying that because I was a woman, and women were made to carry babies, our pelvises can cause back problems and many women have low back pain. I then found a different doctor who actually took an MRI of my back, only to reveal a herniated disc. A year and a half later and I'm looking at possible surgery. Dr. Hunt is a sexist and chauvinistic man and I would definitely not recommended him to anyone, especially a female.

Operated on me May 14, 2010, fusion of S1 - L4. Beyond successful - took me from slowly fading invalid to healthier than I have been in 20 years. His diagnosis was precise, he made me force him to operate on me, and performed a miracle in the operating room for me.Dr Hunt is a brilliant surgeon. I walked out of the hospital in 24 hours. Played golf in 7 months (have not told him that...) and live my life without really thinking about my back.I would recommend more highly than any other Dr I have ever dealt with.

This doctor ruined my son's life. He did extensive surgery of which my son is now in extensive pain. He doesn't even try to find help to fix his mistakes. My son would have been 100 times better off if he would have never seen this so called doctor.

Leonel Hunt looked in my eye nine months after the spine fusion he did on me and told me everything was fine. I found out a year later that he knew the entire time that the fusion had failed yet he told that I could go to the gym that my spine was fine. His lies caused me to have to undergo go a horrific repair surgery!1 Do not trust him he is a complete fake!!

There aren't enough superlative adjectives for me to tell you how I feel about Dr. Leonel Hunt. He is warm and caring (rare qualities for a surgeon) but more importantly he is brilliant. He took me from stooped-over and wheelchair-bound to standing straight and active again. I'll never be able to thank him enough. I can't recommend him highly enough.

The time came when I had to have brain surgery. Dr. Hunt was sensitive and confident. His Physician Assistant was poised and professional. When I awakened in ICU, he was there at my bedside with a caring hand. I was grateful. The surgery was a success. I no longer have a ticking time bomb in my head, and the journey was made easier I believe because of Dr. Hunt and his technical team.

HE'S NOT A GREAT DOCTOR !!A TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. Find someone else!!!!

I had a very good experience with Dr. Hunt and he was on the ball with the diagnosis. But I had issues with his support staff. It took his staff 5 working days just to issue a prescription for an MRI. I called them everyday to follow up on the status of the prescription and gave me a run around each time. I'll give Dr. Hunt 4 stars, the staff during my visit a 3 stars and the support staff who does the follow up calls with NO STARS.

HE'S A CHARLATEN!!! FIND SOMEONE ELSE DO NOT LET HIM OPERATE ON YOU!!

I was referred to Dr. Hunt by my physical therapist for an evaluation of my lower back pain that could help the PT to treat my condition. He did not show too much interest in my case probably because I was not a candidate for any orthopedic surgery. Besides his fees, my insurance was hit by Cedars Sinai Hospital for treatment room ($149) just for using the exam room. I was not seen at the hospital, just some satelite offices that they consider "teaching hospital" Beware of this doctor and the hospital greed!

I was really scared to have my cervical surgery. I put the procedure off for a year due to my fears. Dr. Hunt is the best doctor that I have ever been to and his treatment is the best that I have ever recieved. Due to his talent I have regained so much of my life and ability to perform as a normal person. I will forever be in debt to Dr. Hunt for his excelent treatment. He rocks!

Hasty diagnosis (opting immediately for invasive surgery v. alternative, less drastic options); absolutely no follow-up; no returned phone calls (forced to make repeated calls to his office to secure information); took 48 hours to coordinate treatment with outside physician (an appointment I had to make -- which Hunt's office refused to coordinate); took 48 hours to refill a prescription. An absolute nightmare. An insurance factory, not a patient-care facility.
