Dr. Lisa Margarita Colon, MD

Dr. Colon delivered 2 of my babies one went fine and my last was a nightmare. She literally pulled my baby out with one foot on the bed and my daughter suffered a brachial plexus injury from her negligence and my endless surgeries I have had do to her negligence. She cares about no one but if that happened to her child or to her I'm sure she would be reacting totally different. She is horrible I would not trust her with anyone. I'm not even sure how she even is allowed to practice anymore.

She is a terrible obgyn. She has no patience. Doesn’t take her time. Besides that the wait was extremely long. She committed so many negligence while I gave birth.

I was nervous to have her do my C-section because through out my pregnancy another doctor was following me. I am high risk and last minute my doctor couldn’t deliver me. I had really bad anxiety going into it because I had only seen her twice my whole pregnancy however the morning of my delivery she made it a point to come into my room before surgery and reassure me of her capabilities and calm me down about the whole situation. She also did her best to make me as comfortable as possible afterwards by coming check on me more than just for her rounds and taking her time to answer my million questions. I always had staples for my other two sections however she did stitches and I truly believe this is my easiest recovery out of my Three. I honestly wish I would have seen her my whole pregnancy

The receptionist was cold and rude. Dr. Colon was worse!! She spent 5 minutes in the room and literally would not answer my questions. I waited over an hour for my appointment but was still in a good mood until after my visit. Dr. Colon made a rude joke at my expense with her assistant right in front of me. NEVER will go back again.

Dr Lisa colon is very nice but aside from that, she's been the worst gyn i have ever gone to. Very short with words, does not make you feel comfortable, always seems like she's in a rush. Her staff is great and they give better care than her. I went to her and she immediately said I needed surgery with no other option. I had the surgery, never saw her before or after. She didn't leave any discharge instructions or medicine with the nurse at hospital. Follow up appt I had to ask all questions cause she wasn't telling me anything. She is NOT recommend. I'll make sure to NEVER go back there. She should really consider changing her ways or she will be left with no patients.

She makes you wait for ever before she comes in the room and when she finally come she sits with you for about 30seconds. I had a horrible experience every time I went there. Most of the staff is really nice considering they are the ones that have to tell you what's going on with you. I should have paid more attention to the other poor ratings on the site. Do not go to her if you are looking for a new doctor! She's the worst very unwelcoming. If you do decide to go to her make sure ur day is clear because you will be there a while. Also done ask to many questions because she don't answer those very well save all your questions for the nurse because Dr Colon don't talk much.

I do NOT recommend this doctor. The doctor does not spend time with you or ask any questions. She makes you feel worse than when you come in.

For over a year I had issues with chronic BV and my last doctor told me I was over treated and to stop everything as I was doing per her and her staff. I was still have symptoms and being frustrated my other doctor gave up on me after seeing her for 8 years , I saw Dr. Colon without any knowledge of how she would be. Her staff is always nice and they will go above and beyond to fit you in if you have an emergency. Yes, Dr. Colon is quick and she is down to the point but if you ask her a question she will give you the truth, but be sure you have everything ready when she is in the room. She was very honest with me, suggested follow up appointments and after almost two years my BV is finally cleared !! I wish I would have seen her when all of this mess first started . Her waits can be long but to me she is worth the wait. I don't mind her being quick and to the point , I would rather have that than some fake friendly doctor . Highly recommend..

I had surgery with Dr Colon last year and had a great recovery. Her staff and her are so caring. Dr. Colon always answers all of the questions every time I go to her office. The office looks like a SPA! I can't imagine any other GYN I rather see.

I had heard great things about Dr Colon but I did NOT have a good experience with her or her staff. I must say her staff were WAY better and nicer than her (they at least seemed to remember me since I was seeing them every few weeks, then every week towards the end. Dr. Colon still always seemed very uninterested in me or my situation and definitely seemed like she never remembered who I was. She never once even asked "how are you feeling today?" Not once. I spoke with some other of her patients while waiting forever in the office all the time and they all said the same thing. I hope Dr. Colon reads this because I want her to really think... how many repeat patients do you get? I'd be willing to bet not many at all! By the time I was really fed up with her I was too far along in my pregnancy to find a new doctor, but I do not recommend Dr. Lisa Colon to anyone. I do plan on having more children but I can guarantee I will not see Dr. Colon again.

I had seen this Doctor quite a few times to know when it is time for her to come in she comes in examines and leaves not willing to talk about any concerns that you have. Since my last annual I was diagnosed with a condition that should have been picked up by her if she would have spent more than 5 minutes with me. I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and go back to see what would be her role in treating the condition. When I told her what the other doctors recommended she just agreed and never gave her medical opinion on anything that I asked. I asked her to explain the condition to me and she just completely changed the subject. Either she really does not know what she is talking about or just does not care at all.

The other day ,I came in to doctor colon's office to get my iud removed and I wanted her to advise me before removing it. She came to me and immediately took it off without even asking me why do you want your iud removed? The doctor wasn't helpful at all. she bearly spoke a word to me. I wanted to ask her questions ,but unfortunately, she was in a hurry and just wanted to leave the room. She just took my iud off and then she immediately throw it in the trash can and ran to the door without even talking to me. Defiantly, not going to go to her next time. She didn't show me any care. I wanted to discuss other birth control options with her but she just gave me a paper to read about another iud !

I like the atmosphere and look of the office and the doctor herself is professional and polite, but her bedside manner is quick and to the point and that's it. I will be going elsewhere on behalf of the office staff and their complete lack of communication. Most of the office is bilingual and that's great but it almost feels like some of the techs don't feel comfortable speaking english when needed. There was a miscommunication about how far along I was and when I questioned it the lady just said "yes" and repeated her wrong assumption. This was the third time they had gotten my time frame wrong and I'm talking like 5 weeks forward, then 4 weeks back, etc..not like just a few days etc. At my second appointment I thought I was going for an ultrasound but they just did a sonogram. That's cool and all but it would've been nice to know what we were there for. I was sent into a room with the lights off and had to start to get my own gown out of a drawer until the nurse stopped me and said I wouldn't be needing it because we were just doing the sonogram. They give you some informative paperwork to the appointments you will have when you go for all your prenatal appointments but none of that was ever discussed with me even though it says "this is what we will be going over at this appointment" in the first 3 appointments I had before switching. I know they need blood work but it'd be nice to know what test it's for, or for the blood taker in the back to be expecting me when I show up and don't know what to tell her except that they sent me back there. Before my pregnancy I scheduled a regular pap appointment months ahead and ended up waiting 3 hours for my 2 minute appointment. I know the doc is probably busy in an emergency or something but a little explanation as to why it's taking so long would have been nice. My boss wasn't happy about that one. The prenatal appointments have been starting right on time for the most part so that's nice but I would advise going elsewhere unless you're REALLY patient and are okay with not a lot of communication. I guess I shouldn't have assumed that since this is my first pregnancy that they'd be a little more vocal about whats going on.

After being sent into the exam room I had to wait an additional 50 minutes for the doctor to come in. While I waited I heard her outside of the door making countless phone calls! When she finally came in she was very rude and didn't give me a chance to ask a question! She examined me and got up and left! I would not recommend this lady to anyone! This will be my last visit

The staff were completely incompetent, rude and unhelpful. I will never go back to this Dr. Office ever again. I had to reschedule an appointment because of a family funeral and then a week later I received a letter saying that I was being discharged as a patient "due to my non compliance". I've never been treated with such a lack of proffesionalism and integrity at a doctors office. I would absolutely not recommend this Dr to anyone.

She needs to work on her bedside manner. Walking around with a "I don't feel like seeing patients today" made me VERY uncomfortable. Will NEVER visit or recommend this Doctor to anyone.

Great doctor! Lots of experience! Always in a hurry and 5mins is about how much time you get per visit!

Wait for an hour, Dr only speaks to you for 5 min.very impersonal

I really don't feel comfortable with this doctor. She just doesn't seems to connect with me. She never ask any questions or offers any advice. She does the pap smear and the exam and then I just leave. it's like being on an assembly line. I need a new doctor.

This doctor takes advantage of insurance companies and Medicaid. I was told I needed a hysterectomy immediately even after two biopsies came back negative and she would have to cut me hip to hip. Being a breast cancer survivor, I was scared and set up surgery date. At the last minute I decided to get second opinion and was told there was no need for hysterectomy right away and after examination was told the surgery could be done laposcoptically which Lisa colon told be my cervix was abnormally shaped and she couldnt do it this way. I had 2 biopsies and ultra sounds in 6 months and all done in her office, even a d & c in her office, I wonder how many unnecessary procedures are done in her office. Thank god I changed doctors before I was cut up unnecessarily.
