Dr. Lloyd Dewayne Bellah, MD

I've seen many psychiatrists throughout texas, from many places in the US. This is the worst doctor I have ever experienced. I told him about my current medication and my overall progression to decrease the antidepressants overtime. and he laughed and called it stupid. I consulted my current psychiatrist before making any changes in my medication and making small changes each time throughout years. I was placed in a psych ward for attempted suicide. He seemed completely careless about my situation, as if I was as significant as an ant. He lied to me about my parents, claiming that they said, "We think our son/daughter, is still a threat to themselves." When, in-fact, I called them the night before asking if they thought it was "ok" for me to come home. Which they did. If you care about someone, do not take them to see Dr. Bellah.

Doctor Bella left with me with swollen legs no energy and no phone calls no 2 opinion Would not let me out of the hospital just said ( I guess they really want you out of the hospital. 22 day with no phone no contact with the outside world. I need to get help for how mean they were what a nightmare experience. I would not Recommend him for anyone

Don't let your loved ones be treated by this "doctor".

He was a great doctor and helped me a lot

I was not impressed with Dr Bellah. I waited an hour to see him and spent maybe 10 minutes in his office. He wrote me a prescription and told me to come back in 1 month. I will not waste my time or gas going back!

I had a great experience going to Dr. Bellah. He was very courteous and his front office staff was very helpful. He was able to figure out what medication that I needed very quickly and did not wast my time. I liked that I got back quickly when my appointment was scheduled and he got me on my way with a minimum of wasted time.

He said at his desk typing notes on his PC, seemed unconcerned about any issue I had and I left with absolutely nothing (no advice, diagnosis, etc.)

Great doctor. He helped me a lot get my medication adjusted and get my depression under control

Great doctor

I have been in treatment for 30 years and wanted to find a new doctor who could offer better care for treatment-resistant, severe depression. I attempted suicide twice in 2016 and spent 40 days in a hospital. At my first appointment, Dr. Bellah had no patients waiting and spent a total of 10 minutes with me. He wasn’t interested in learning about my hospitalization for suicide and didn’t bother to seek medical records for any previous psychiatrists. All he wanted to know was what prescriptions I was currently taking so he could write refills.

Likes to talk on the phone during your 3 minute appointment and not even excuse himself. Can't control his eating so obviously can't help you.

Waiting staff, very unorganized the two times I had appointment. One lady made coffee nervous. Dr. Bellah was late for both appointments. He did address & invite me to have a seat. The whole time I was speaking, he constantly typed n his tablet, then said ok, heres a prescription, see you in a month.

I moved to the area recently and he was the closest "doctor" that accepted my insurance. I arrived at my appointment early to fill out my paperwork. I brought in my new, still in training, service pup. I sat in the waiting room with my pup and filled out my paperwork. The receptionist did not say anything about the dog not being allowed in there, so I thought all was good. I waited for about 20 minutes past my appointment time and was finally called in. He asked me why I felt the need to bring in my dog, I let him know she is there to help with my overwhelming anxiety. I am visually anxious, nervous and shaking and he states that I need to keep her off the furniture. I comply and put her completely on my lap. She then decides it would be a good time to vomit. The vomit was only on me and in my purse, it didn't touch any furniture or the floor. He brings over some Kleenex and tells me to clean it up. I am crying and shaking at this point and he kicked me out of his office, told me to get that dog under control before I come back. I half walk half run out of the office carrying my dog, the receptionist calls out to me and asks if I need to reschedule and I shook my head no. I then proceeded to the nearest bathroom to clean up and ride out the rest of my panic attack. This man did not give a sh*t what he put me through. Later that day, after fully recovering from the panic attack, I called my insurance company and told them not to pay him if he tried to bill for the treatment. NEVER GO TO THIS CLINIC FOR MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT. I am still having panic attacks just thinking about having to go to another doctor.

Just an FYI Dr. Bellah currently practices in the DFW area. Avoid this man at all costs. I don't have to go into great details about the issues I've had with him. If you go on any doctor rating website you will notice a pattern of the same complaints from people who have experienced the horrid of having him as a doctor. Frequent observations in these ratings are: 1. He wants to get the patient out the door as quickly as possible. Many of the reviews mention how he spends as little amount of time with the patient as possible. Several reviewers mention visits lasting 5 to 10 minutes at the most. I can assure you it's true as crazy as it sounds. 2. He shows VERY little concern in regard to the mental health problems that bring patients to a psychiatrist. He is one of those humans that goes out of their way to make the patient feel dumb. 3. During office appointments it seems like he is emotionally not present. Other reviewers have mentioned the fact he appears to be bored or simply in a totally different universe mentally. 4. Several of the reviewers (myself included) have experienced him being unprofessional and downright rude. He treats me like I'm a major inconvenience each time I've had to see him. 5. He is very good at making the patient feel like they are the problem. When given a time sensitive task he assured me (and hospital staff) he would take care of it. Then he does not even attempt to do as he promised. Once asked why it wasn't dealt with he talks down to the patient and comes up with excuses as to why it is the fault of the patient not him. If you or any other person needs help do not expect to get it from this man. The sheer number of reviews stating the same issues over and over again should make it easy to see he is NOT the responsible doctor a patient facing mental health issues needs. Patients need a psychiatrist that is emotionally present and genuinely cares about the future physical and mental health of the patient. I do not feel that Dr. Bellah is a "safe" doctor to have at this time. I honestly believe that one day he is going to ignore the needs of a patient so badly it becomes a life or death situation for them.

At this moment I can not share a detailed account of my dealings with Dr. Bellah. When time permits I will share my experiences and why I rate him as low as I do.

Good doctor

A relative of mine went to see Dr. Bellah right after leaving a facility to get stabilized. He immediately took her off all the medication that helped her stabilize and added back all of her previous medication. The same exact medication that led her to be suicidal and need inpatient care. She argued that she didn't think that sounded like a good idea and he called the social worker to talk to my mom to convince her he was doing the right thing. I recommend you avoid this guy. He should not practice psychiatry.

He was unresponsive. It was like he could careless what my needs were. He was rushing me out of there and prescribed me medicine that medicare didn't cover and did not work either.

If you need a Doctor, don't go to Dr Lloyd Bellah. He is rude, unprofessional, worst Dr/Patient experience I have ever had in my life, unconcerned about my total existence, uncaring, spends no time with you. He might as well own a cattle business because his only concern is to count heads to collect insurance money! What a shame he can be a part of the medical profession.

He is acutely insecure with himself and when stuck in an office with him at Dallas Behavioral in DeSoto, he refused to listen to me, told me "I was in the wrong place," after scoring a 43 on the Beck Depression Inventory, refused to "actively listen," and promptly removed me from outpatient without so much as offering inpatient.
