Dr. Lori Nelson, MD

Dr. Lori Nelson is an amazing physician. She is a very attentive, thorough and caring professional. She also has great interpersonal skills including good bedside manners.

Worst doctor ever. Incredibly rude and unprofessional. Stay away.

I've had many facet injections in my lower spine performed by Dr. Nelson. She is knowledgeable, friendly, and cautious. She does not perform any procedure without discussing it first and making sure that the patient is comfortable with the options that have been presented.

I have had back pain for many years and I have seen many doctors. I was skeptical when my PCP told me to try Dr. Nelson because I thought, "What can she tell me that all the rest haven't already said?" But as soon as she walked in the room, I knew I was in the right place. This is the FIRST doctor I have seen with who took the time to go through ALL of my options with me. From medications (risks and benefits) to PT to shots to Psychology to surgery. She actually reviewed the MRI with me personally. I have NEVER had anyone do that before. She used models and diagrams and animations to explain what was going on with my back and some of the procedures that might be helpful. She explained the purpose of Physical Therapy and did not push me into shots. If you're looking for drugs only, this is not the place to go. She explained to me that she uses narcotics sometimes, but this is definitely not one of those revolving door drug refill only practices. This wasn't a problem for me because that's not something I am interested in anyway. She explained that many times there is not only one thing that fixes your pain, but a combination of things. I actually left feeling like I was in control of this and I had options. I have referred at least three other people to her already. Two of them have gone and they told me they experienced the same thing! I can't say enough good things about her!
