Dr. Lori A Reaves

Thank God for DR Reaves and Christine Forward (not sure of spelling) Nurse Practioner. My husband suffered a devastating stroke that left him paralyzed on the left side of his body. After many months of rehab and some were terrible we decided to bring him home for the last days of his life. I had heard from a home health social worker about Dr Reaves practice and that she organizes a visiting physician practice, where as she would come to our home to see my husband, so we did not have to take him out for visits to doctors or wellness checks, ekgs, xrays etc. As he was confined to a wheelchair and had some cognitive issues. dr Reaves assigned a nurse practioner to his care. She was an angel. She helped our family keep my husband home and comfortable. Over looked continuity of care for him and as a caretaker myself I was disabeled I hurt my back and had lymph edema in both legs making it difficult to push my husband in the wheelchair etc. Christine and Dr Reaves were wonderful. My husband lived for 8 years after the stroke and I may add that he had also survived a hemicrainectomy. Well long story short if it were not for both of these caring women we would not have been able to keep him home and comfortable. Dispite the negative issues about Dr Reaves I have read let me assure you that she was a wonderful crusader for geriatric medicine and to bring health care to the patients at home.
