Incredibly rude and unprofessional. Billing practices are VERY questionable.

I went to Dr. Lana for years when she was located in R.I. She constantly ordered test and would never give results over the phone. She would always make a new appointment with another co-pay to give you the results. Always on her computer, and always ordering test. And like all the rest of these reviews I too was told I had lyme...... I wonder why she left R.I......

She a wonderful Doctor

Dr Lanna is a very good physician. She always wants to go the extra mile to figure out exactly what's going on with you to try to get you the treatment and/or specialists you need. Her office manager is very friendly and is always on the go trying to help you any which way she can.

Dr. Lanna is one the most caring doctors I have ever known. She truly cares about her patients health but more than that she cares about all aspects of her patients - physical, mental, and emothional. Her diagnostic skills are above average as I found out on more than one occassion. I could go on and on about how much I love Dr. Lanna but let me sum it up by saying if you are looking for a primary care doctor your search stops here.

inappropriate comments about pt's. I had a positive test and wanted it investigated furthur as I have multiple heath issues, and her response was "well, mine's positive too and I'm fine". Does not seem to have a very good handle on her patients, never knows why you are there. Her office manager out front does your vitals after she has handled money and credit cards, don't even know if that's legal, compassion and caring are all fake, she could care less, you are simply a payment to her. Orders labs for you and then doesn't call to say everything is ok, you will not get results until your next visit which could be 6 months away. My new comment : good riddence

Dr. Lanna is very stuck-up and judgmental. I went to her numerous times for the same issue and all she did was talk condescending to me. I was never diagnosed and she just kept re-testing me for the same thing. Come to find out I had pre-cancerous cells in my cervix and PID. Thanks for the waste! I am now fertile because of Dr. Lanna's misdiagnosis (or should I sack lack of diagnosis)

Due to the expert clinical assessment of Dr. Lanna I was diagnosed in the very early stage of malignant cancer. My prognosis is excellent for a full recovery. The surgeon was impressed by the early diagnosis and stated I was very fortunate because the early diagnosis prevented the cancer from spreading. Thank You Dr.Lanna

Very unprofessional. Went to her when everyone got a diagnosis of Lyme, finally got a 2nd opinion when she said I had to get IV meds for Lyme. Traveled to a Well-respected Dr in Boston said I didn't have Lyme. Some seem to like her based on this website...but my experience was awful.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lanna's for the past 11 years, I have always been more than satisfied with her approach to overseeing my medical needs. In addition to her expertise in diagnosing and treating any issues that I have had, she has an extremely warm/comforting approach to medicine and truly cares for her patients. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a primary care physician.

Dr. Lanna is VERY judgemental. She does not care about her patients- it is just a very well rehearsed act. Every time I went into the office she would try to test me for STDs when I had been with the same partner for years and told her this every time I came in. She constantly told me how obese I was even though I was about 30lbs overweight. Yes heavy, but to be constantly told you are obese? Come on. She does not answer ANY questions over the phone. I had to make an appointment to see if I could take sleeping pills. Seriously?! Finally, there was an issue where their billing company did something wrong and I was stuck with the bill which was illegal given my insurance. Dr. Lanna herself got on the phone and preceded to argue with me when I was trying to figure out what was going on and told me that she wished she had more time to argue with me but she had better things to do and hung up on me. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! Her staff is rude and never knows why you are coming in. Last I check the Dr. was supposed to know what you need when you come in. Maybe I'm just old fashioned. I switched to Caring for Women immediately and they are WONDERFUL! I have been with them for years and have not had a problem yet.

Please don't listen to any of these people who talk badly about Dr. Lanna. I'm not related and have no personal connection to her, simply a happy patient. She has been the first doctor I've been to out of many who has actually listened to me, been knowlegable and properly treated me. The only bad thing I have to say is that her staff rushes you out the door when you leave and don't seem to care if you have you prescriptions or not. The dark haired girl can be rude and inconsiderate. Other than that, I love Dr. Lanna!!

I have been with Dr. Lanna since her days in the Wickford office building. The practice grew larger and larger, and soon the office wait became ridiculous- one- two hours at times. Staff was constantly changing, and some were downright rude. An older, more mature woman was very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. She didn't last very long, however.Dr. Lanna had her ups and downs as a doctor. She always seemed knowledgeable, but some things hit me the wrong way. One time, when she had been running very late, she boasted to me how she had made up the time by seeing many, many patients in one hour. As a patient, you do not want to hear this.Dr. Lanna had so many patients, that she did not seem to have time to review their folder or labs before you were in the examining room. So she often seemed not to know much about me and my medical history. As a patient, this is not a comforting feeling.Then, it was on to the Centerville Rd. office. The physical plant of this office lent itself poorly to abiding by any HPPA laws. One day, as I was waiting a very long time to be seen, Dr. Lanna was chastising a patient behind the partition that separated the waiting area from the examining rooms. When the patient walked up to the desk, she looked around and saw me. She happened to be my next door neighbor! She was so totally embarrassed, as was I.So many patients were diagnosed with Lyme disease at that time. As a layman I can't be sure whether all the diagnoses were correct, but a lot of other doctors and ER personnel were commenting on just that issue.From the Centerville Rd. office, Dr. Lanna moved on to Tollgate Rd. The office lends itself so much better to privacy issues. The staff still changes quite often. I am glad to see Na(sp?)back. She is very pleasant and knowledgeable. I hope Dr. Lanna appreciates her, especially paycheck wise, because I have found that that is the best way to show it with people who perhaps constantly have to watch their money situation closely. Dr. Lanna seems more calm, but does say some things sometimes that I find curious, like questioning the amount of a drug that I take that SHE prescribed.It certainly is fine to question and to change a drug, but she did this as if I had prescribed the amount to myself.Dr. Lanna has had to reschedule my appointments for whatever reason. When that happens, the office workers are so willing to call the pharmacy to extend a prescription, if needed. However, when I had to suddenly go to Florida because my stepson was seriously ill, I called the office to extend two prescriptions, and they said they would do one, but more than one would inconvenience the office! Go figure! It's okay when they need to be out of the office, but not the other way around.I think Dr. Lanna is an excellent physician. I think she needs to reassess her staff, perhaps look for highly trained, experienced people, and pay them more than what others receive in their field so that they will stay. She also needs to treat them with respect, as they are people that she cannot get along without.There are other issues that I have had, but if I reveal what they are, the doctor would know who I am, and it is not my intent to cause her damage.Overall, I see a kinder, gentler Dr. Lanna, especially since moving to the Tollgate Rd. office. I think that those who are looking for a doctor, should consider Dr. Lanna. She is very knowledgeable, and I would rather have a doctor who is knowledgeable than one with a great bedside manner, but that's all.

I can't say enough about her - I think she is fantastic.

Very unhappy with this doctor. She basicly convinced me to switch to her practice then changed policies regarding appointments, etc. Will not discuss any issues over the phone and does not like to have her opinion questioned. Has made many changes in her practice over the years which can be disconcerting. She was very angry &bunprofessional when I asked office staff to send my records to another doctor.

Other than a general physicial we go to a doctor because we have a problem. Doctors no longer focus, in and out, next one in.Dr. Lanna is somewhat typical with the difference that when you get her full attention because something is indeed wrong, you have a winner. She concentrates, listens, looks, thinks, and generally picks you apart for an answer. We as patients, of course, see this as a road to a cure, not happy when the result is another lab test and a referral to another doctor. Getting any doctors attention is the whole battle. I found Dr. Lanna to be worth the effort.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lanna for 10 years. She has met all of my needs as a patient of hers. I have never felt rushed when she mets with me. Her spirituality is comforting. I am able to speak with her about my wellness of mind and body

Perhaps just not my style, but I found that Dr. Lanna was overly thorough and often seemed to be missing the forest from the trees. She constantly reminded me to lose weight (even just three months after having a baby) and I'm 5'5" and weigh 155 lbs. It made me wonder what she was saying to her really overweight patients. She put me through a battery of tests when I first started going to her including multiple MRIs and blood tests but NEVER followed up with me on the results and she required that I always come to the office for every small question or prescription re-fill. Now a mom of two, I just don't have time for that kind of patient care when all the testing eventually just tells me what I already know. If that is a style you prefer, I would encourage you to consider Dr. Lanna but be cautious of her (and her office staff's) lack of follow through.

For all her calling me "Hun" and trying to give encouraging pats on the hand, it didn't ring true, sincere or concerned. I prefer a dr. with warmth in the eyes and voice than one who seems to be giving a well rehearsed performance.
