I am very thankful for Dr. Vaccarello's fine expertise, caring manner, and excellent explanation of my surgery and ongoing care. I felt totally comfortable by his presence and thorough assessment. A fine man indeed!

If it wasn’t for Dr. Vaccarello I don’t believe I would still be here seven years after I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. He and his nurse were wonderful dealing with me and my family. He was the best!!

Beyond being a skilled surgeon, Dr. Luis Vaccarello is a kind and caring healer. I always felt that he was fully present with me and fully focused on my care. He encouraged, and was sensitive and responsive to my questions--during my office visits and through e-mail. Simply put—at every step in the process, I felt very well cared for which, I believe, is critical in the healing journey.

He was extremely kind, compassionate and provided information in which I think that I needed at the time. He may be a man of few words, but his kindness and work speak volumes. His cold hands means he has a warm heart. Highly recommended. He did not judge me, nor push me over issues I know I have, he only provided a positive, safe environment.

My Gyno in Athens found a very large tumor on my ovary. Told me he was sending me to no other than the best...Dr Vaccarello! I admit, upon first meeting him, I was a little taken by his bedside manner. He went over and beyond what another doctor might have done. He found I had Uterine cancer. I was terrified the day of surgery and he was like oh its no big deal and calmed me down. He took the HUGE tumor out and showed my family!! When I came to from the surgery, he was right there making sure I understood everything and checked on me everyday. My family and I love him! Thank you so much Dr. Vaccarello!!

My mother got recommended to him by local OBGYN because of heart problems and history of cancer. He was extremely rude because she did not have Cancer. She was in the hospital for 3 days and had to have 3 units of blood because of blood clots and lose of blood. However, this was not important to him.

Dr. Vaccarello is an outstanding surgeon. I have was referred to him my several physicians. He is precious and accurate and knows his stuff. He is a leader in the field. I felt safe and confident that I made the right choice going to him. Is staff is outstanding. They are caring and compassionate.

I don't usually write reviews, however, I must say that Dr. Vacarello took great care with my 84 year old Mom before and during her stay in Mount Carmel East. His professionalism, gentleness and kindness while she was in the hospital put our family at ease during her recovery after surgery. It is obvious he is in this profession to make a difference. Other physicians should take note of Dr. Vacarello's authenticity and the genuine care he gives his patients.

I couldn't have been recommended to a better doctor. I have the utmost confidence in him.

Although I feel he is an excellent surgeon, I did not care for his bedside manner. He is not friendly or warm. When I saw him for my very first visit, he seemed calm and relaxed. When I returned to be advised of my treatments he appeared to be irritated, short, and not warm in the least. Found the same on subsequent visits.

I am currently an ovarian cancer patient of Dr. Vaccarello. He preformed my surgery (ovary, tube removal) and set up my chemotherapy at the Zangmeister Center. He is straight to the point and direct, which I appreciate. Dr. Vaccarello, his nurse and nurse practitioner are profession, competent, and listen to my concerns. No, he is not a hand-holder: you don't need your hand held, you need somebody who can steer you through treatment and remove the cancer, which he is doing for me. I am very glad to have Dr. Vaccarello as my doctor and you will be as well. I would not hesitate to recommend him to family or friends.

I highly recommend Dr Vaccarello!! He is one of the most caring doctors I have been to. He sit down & explained everything before hysterectomy (Endometrial Cancer) After the surgery my recovery time was quick & nothing like I had imagined. I don't have one complaint, if I had to go thru it again I would want Dr Vaccarello!!

Dr. Vaccarello is my hero! He saved my life! I have been going to him for two and a half years and he always listens to me and whenever i tell him if i am having issues he usually knows what is wrong as soon as i tell him! I would definitely recommend Dr. Vaccarello!

About 2 yrs after having a hysterectomy due to endometriosis, my ob-gyn referred me to Dr Vaccarello when she discovered an abdominal mass. Dr Vaccarello was very professional, which I appreciate. He did not chit chat about the weather or my kids during exams-and always had his female assistant present during exams. His staff was outstanding, too. He surgically removed the mass. During my stay in the hospital he visited me briefly in the a.m. and then in the afternoon/evening for about 20-30 minutes every day that I was in the hospital. He answered all of my questions. I found him to be professional, caring, personable, and most importantly a great surgeon. I have had several other abdominal surgeries but I recovered very quickly from this one without nearly the pain of others. I had a reaction to one of the drugs that he prescribed and when I called his office he got on the phone quickly, spoke with me and prescribed something else which was ready at the pharmacy within an hour. I just couldn't say enough good things about him.

My experience was very bad. I had a full hysterectomy and ended up w/ an open wound due to lack of running test and 'jumping the gun' of trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Bedside manner was a 0 and he didn't feel an obligation of concern when I had complications after the surgery he performed. He appeared to be irritated and annoyed by the problems I faced. I would not recommend this doctor for hysterctomy.
