This doctor exploits patients and charges for things unnecessarily. I had a dexa scan done, previously done and read by all former obgyns and she charged to give me the results!! She did not alert me to this prior and months later the receptionist came after me for the extra charge. I felt like the care I received was always rushed and she really did not care about me as a person or patient. The spa aspect was clearly gaining in importance and there was a push for extra services. The doctor never called in prescriptions from my visit and this happened 3 times!! When I called to inquire, she had never written down the request! Slip shod performance. Would not recommend nor ever go back!! Awful!!
Was encouraged to have the CO2RE done (vaginal rejuvenation), then O-Shot. Spent thousands of dollars on these painful procedures. I'm worse now. I was not informed that these procedures were not approved by the FDA and in fact, may be harmful. I am still in pain, bleeding and have scar tissue as a result of these procedures. I have found another provider who is trying to help undo the damage done.
I had been considering leaving this practice because it seemed like I was always being rushed and charged extra for things that I thought should be included in exams and regular appointments. The decision was made for me. I received a certified letter stating that they are “withdrawing from further professional attendance” upon me, this past Saturday. I called the office to find out why I was being dropped as a patient and was told that it was because I cancelled an appointment for a Pap test. Now, the reason I cancelled the appointment is because Dr. Tomani had done a colposcopy after I had an abnormal pap come back. At the time of the colposcopy, Dr. Tomani herself told me that there was nothing notable, didn't even see anything to biopsy, and the reason for the abnormal pap was probably because the lab did not have a good sample. Well, why would I have a repap test done after she said this? I had to pay out of pocket for the colposcopy and didn't really want to pay for an unnecessary test! The nurse had called me to find out why I was cancelling the appointment and I explained the above. At no time did she state that if I did not have the follow up Pap, I would be dropped as a patient. I find this action as extreme and am left wondering if this was really the issue as to why I was dropped as a patient. While searching for another OB/GYN, I have since seen several online reviews from former patients of hers, with similar outcomes. I work with physicians and asked them if they have ever dropped a patient because of a test refusal. They all said no and think that this policy is very unprofessional. I would stay away from this office.
Do NOT see this Doctor, she is unprofessional, unethical, and discriminates and exploits patients to get money in a variety of ways that are appalling and illegal! Her staff is rude, harasses patients, discloses private information willingly to unauthorized parties, incorrectly bills insurance companies, and sometimes the wrong insurance companies for the wrong billing codes - this has happened to me personally by Julie, and I know for a fact has happened to others that have gone to this practice. Donna the office manager and main nurse is rude, condescending, and judgmental and does nothing to help but make the patients feel worse. Julie, the main receptionist bullies patients, gives out wrong information, and makes it the patients fault when she is the one at fault. Dr. Tomani abandons patients who are most in need, and will write them off as patients sending them letters with a "deadline date" that they can last ben seen by her, and that date is the EXACT date that the letter is dated. When I called to report the bullying and harassment that I suffered at the hands of Julie, the receptionist, I was not allowed to talk to the Doctor, I was asked personal information by the receptionist that I spoke with - to the point that I had to remind her that if she asked me any further information she was absolutely violating HIPPA, and already had. Donna, the unprofessional, and unethical "office manager," called me back and still continued to insist that I was wrong, which I had proven the day before - that I wasn't. When I asked Donna about my test results coming back she stated that they "probably wouldn't get around to it by the end of the day." It was a Friday. When I asked what I should do about the symptoms over the weekend she stated "there are over the counter medicines that I'm sure will work." When I asked about when the ultrasound would be scheduled she said she wanted to look into "my compliant" first and would call me on Monday - 2 weeks went by and Donna finally called me back, when I asked why I didn't receive a phone call and had to wait 2 weeks Donna stated - "I went on vacation, and I'm the only one that could have called you back." When I asked what was done about Julie's behavior towards me I was told "that's none of your business." Two days after this phone call I received the letter in the mail from Dr. Tomani stating that she was dropping me as a patient and couldn't see me any longer - I have a medical condition and am on medicine that has to be prescribed by an OB, and my condition absolutely necessitates that I be followed by an OB, Dr. Tomani knows this. The letter stated that should I have an emergency medical issue the "deadline" that she gave me to stop seeing me should be sufficient, the deadline was the exact same date as the date at the top of the letter, which the letter was dated for, and I didn't receive the letter until 2 days after the date of the letter and the supposed deadline. If you google Dr. Tomani's name - there are other patients who document and outline this exact same situation, with the exact same events! If you are lucky enough to get into a room to see Dr. Tomani she will rush through your exam, answer zero questions, and you will be lucky to get 5 minutes with her - all the while feeling like you are an inconvenience to her and that she has better things to do. The last visit I had with this practice, I had 2 different nurses in a 5 minute window, and the last nurse couldn't even find a clean room for me. When I finally got to see Dr. Tomani she downplayed my concerns of severe pain that I was experiencing, then she put me on the exam table so quickly and rushed through major concerns that I had that I literally felt like a piece of meat afterwards! She took some labs (which were left out in the open with my name and information exposed) and told me that the labs would be back the next day - I had to call 5 different times to find out if they were in, and suffer over a weekend with the symptoms that the labs were taken for and never heard from anyone until I called again the next week! After that awful experience in the office that day, I then had to deal with Julie billing someone else's insurance and telling me it was my insurance, when I kept telling her that she was wrong she started yelling, bullying me, and harassing me in front of other patients in the waiting room! She printed out incorrect insurance information and threw the papers at me trying to tell me that it was mine. She demanded full payment for the visit when I am on a co-pay plan, and refused to let me leave, or schedule the very urgent and needed ultrasound that the Dr. had ordered to occur the next day until I admitted that she was right. Dr. Tomani walked by the back of the desk at one point as this was going on, saw and heard her employee screaming at a patient and kept walking. Julie was not right as she insisted that she was, and I had to call my insurance company from my car and have them call Julie to explain to her that she was wrong and had given me wrong information and was about to bill the wrong insurance for the wrong patient. The ultrasound tech is abrasive, rude, cold, and has zero bedside manner but also no sympathy for the pain she might be causing as she is doing your ultrasound. Dr. Tomani performed a needed surgery on me about 6 months ago and I am now finding out that I shouldn't have trusted her to do that, not only because of this latest experience with her but, that I am now having symptoms that could be a result of her botching the surgery, and that major things were missed by her and the ultrasound tech that should have been found when they sent me for ultrasounds prior to the surgery! If you google Dr. Tomani you will see multiple complaints against her that all have the same theme and the same series of events - this

I complained about two botched appointments (for which they got paid anyway by insurance) and they dropped me from the practice without even answering, while continuing to send me the bill.
They billed my insurance company incorrectly causing service that should have been covered to not be. I contacted them several times to get it fixed and they would not listen. A year later I recieve calls from a debt collector who harassed and threatened me. This office is a complete failure. The number of bad reviews seem endless.
Came across this website and decided to share my opinion as well. It seems like everyone who gave 1 star had 1 problem that was not resolved the way it was expected, and they had forgotten about years of great service here. I wish Dr. T to keep up a good work and love all her staff!
Don't let the nice interior fool you. I have been to the office for medical visits and not received calls about serious results which needed procedures to take care of. I can't believe this kind of thing could really happen, especially more than once. I get the feeling only money is important to this group. I also have been in the waiting area waiting to be seen, and listened to almost the entire staff sit there and yeah talk about another patient, extremely unprofessional and honestly disgusting behavior.
After decade of care, an oversight in reviewing my test results led to numbers of costly/invasive procedures, revealing cancer followed by immediate life saving surgery. In Jan. she was compassionate/caring, by Sept her/RN bedside manners were absent as I sat tearful, in pain/scared; neither addressing my concerns/questions; when I voiced my "disappointment", the very next day they sent a certified letter withdrawing themselves from my care! It's appalling behavior from a so-called professional!
Amazing office, Friendly Staff always smiling and willing to help. They got me in the same day! Highly reccomended
After having several other doctor visits that were painful in the extreme, I had to find a new doctor. I had a consult with Dr. Tomani about these visits to other the other doctors and I followed up with a check up a week later. She was very professional yet friendly. I found her to be easy to talk too.
My wife's best friend recommended this office and we were very excited to start our first pregnancy experience. We had no problem to schedule an app and met most of the staff - the receptionist, nurse, ultrasound tech and Dr. Tomani herself. So far everyone was friendly and we got all our questions answered. Wish me luck to comfort my very hormonal wife for the remaining of the 6 months!
I decided to give it a shot at this office just because it was closest to my house. Staff was friendly, office is clean and modern, Dr. Tomani treated me like a member of her family. My first experience was very pleasant.
I am new to Rochester and made an app at Madonna OBGYN simply because of the convenient location, not because of the reviews. I wanted to have my own point of view on it. The original app date was offered in a few weeks although after I mentioned my problems, I got my app in a couple of days. After meeting Dr. Tomani, I was very pleased with her - all that unpleasant experienced in GYN offices she made into a very simple and pleasant trip. She gave me a few options and answered all my questions. The Ultrasound app I needed was scheduled the next day. Clean office, relaxing atmosphere, friendly and professional staff.
I see a lot of negetive reviews but I absolutely love Dr. Tomani. Yes she is fast at doing her annual exams but who wants to spend a lot of time there? She has personally called me to follow-up on abnormal ultrasound findings and was great during my first pregnancy. Her staff is wonderful too ... It feels like some of these reviews about the staff were from the old practice (not Modonna Obgyn). I had a similar experience there but the new office has been excellent.
I was literally assaulted by the NP or PA (whichever) when I went in complaining of kidney pain. She gave me a hard and quick karate style chop to my left flank exactly where I was having severe discomfort. I put up my hand to thwart off a second but she managed to get past me and do the same to the other side. I was in tears and terror. Look, I am a nurse. I expected I would go in and give a urine sample and have this type of exam. The problem was in the severity of the blow and the fact that there was no warning that she was to begin the exam. The bigger issue in my eyes was the fact that she showed no concern nor gave an apology. This happened last year and I am finally getting around to writing the doctor and this site because the last straw came today when I was not even allowed to make an appointment because I had a $10 outstanding charge on my account. That's right, not even make an appointment. If this doesn't show where this practice has their priorities, nothing does. These people have it all backwards.
Dr. Tomani is ill-informed and has a dreadful bedside manner. She made it clear that she was in rush and did not take any time to answer my questions. She had interrupted my story after 1 sentence and never let me finish. She is unwilling to put time and effort into making a correct diagnosis or figuring out alternative solutions to please the patient. Her office also had poor follow-up, forgetting to call me with results that were needed before I could begin treatment, for which I never received an apology. I would not recommend Dr. Tomani or her office if you're looking for decent care or health solutions.
I did not have a good experience at all. Her staff especially the receptionist and a blond manager that had a sour sergeant personality type; was part of the problem. I wanted out. That is the last thing you need when you are pregnant: to deal with a discourteous, uncaring staff. Madonna didn't spend much time with me... 5 minutes and I saw myself asking questions when she was getting out the door not very caring. The wait was long even if I got the first appt of the day.The app to find out about the sex of the baby I had a tech with a sour face the whole time; which ruined the whole experience. When I told about these issues to Tomani -- she asked me to go look for another doctor and defended the attitude of her staff..! I was 5 months and I got another doc; and I am so glad I did. I love him. I also took with me 2 patients I had recommended to her. Piece of advice: if you are not happy get out as soon as possible! I took too long thinking things would improve they didnt, they got worse.
I had a vaginal abscess. The staff was rude and inefficient. Dr. Tomani was distracted and actually gave a sales pitch about botox as something their clinic offered! I had puss draining from my body, I was not interested in botox! She forgot to prescribe antibiotics. When I called for a prescription they wanted to book an appointment.
