Dr. Marcia Anne Dover, MD

I am being neglected as a patient here and I couldn't recommend starting with another neurologist more. I have called numerous times within the past two or so months about something Dr. Dover was previously made aware of. I need to be prescribed 90 days' worth of a lessened dose of my medication before leaving the country. Initially, the office would never call me back to follow up with more information. Lately, I keep getting the run around because Dr. Dover tells her office staff that I have already been prescribed what I need (false) and that if I haven't been, I should just split the pills I already have (which are not made for splitting, and are not 90 days' worth.) Recently, I requested that my general doctor reach out on my behalf. There are only three weeks left until I leave the country for 15 months. I am likely going to have to stop taking my prescription cold with the risk of suffering side effects because I do not have time to schedule a consultation with another neurologist. A patient medicated is not a patient cured... Ask your general doctor for a list of neurologist references in our area and start somewhere professional.

Run away from this inept doctor who has zero interest in helping her patients.

The staff is rude and not concerned with patients at all. After waiting to see Dr Dover I was told Im going to see Dr Stephen. No comparison between the two. When I objected I was told to find another practice. Never go to this office !!!

Go to her if you want minimum care and rude staff.

I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Dover. She is incredibly compassionate, understanding and kind to her patients. She takes her time observing and picking up on small cues that help with providing a thorough evaluation. Dr. Dover has a genuine, sweet and thoughtful personality. I would recommend her to anyone who needs a great neurologist.

Dr. Dover has become a great mentor while I been going through my illness. Thank you Doctor Dover.

Dr Dover did not answer calls, questions, or requests for more information from me or my other doctors. Her staff would not fax reports or results when requested. RX written with missing information and hospital had to request revisions several times. After 3 appointments and worsening symptoms Dr Dover had a "wait and see" attitude. Talked over me, used medical terms without explanations and condescending tone. When I requested a copy of my records I was reprimanded by her and her staff. Today I received the most unprofessional letter stating to "find myself another neurologist". Letter was unnecessary; my intentions were made clear when I requested a copy of my records... RUN people RUN from Dr Dover and her administrative staff RUN people RUN

Had an appointment today. Arrived 20 minutes before my appointment as requested. Dr. Dover due to my illness was no longer able to treat me 4 years ago. I was her patient for about 3 years. After an hospital stay I was told to see a neurologist. Called my insurance company and they gave me an in network Neurologist. I did not know Dr. Stephens was in her group now. There office allowed me to make the appointment, come to the appointment and fill out all the paper work only for Dr. Stephens to tell me she can not talk to me. The staff wasted 1 month of my time waiting for this appointment which I needed. This office staff is not professional at all. They are thoughtful of the patients.

Worst dr EVER told my mom who is at the end of her MS journey (62 years) and can’t walk without her rolator that she needed to stop using it and start walking, seriously! Run people, RUN!!!

I had been seeing another Neurologist in this practice for 20+ years who retired. Dr. Dover took over a couple of years ago and I have nothing but good comments about her. She has not only monitored my prescriptions, and condition from a neurological stand point but also gone the extra distance is recommending some vitamins levels that I was deficient on that would provide a more holistic treatment for my condition.

Dr. Dover shows me compassion and treats me with profession experience and knowledge. I am appreciative of her attentiveness and manner.

I went to Dr. Dover for a second opinion since my issues were getting worse and my neurologist at the time seemed to have brushed my symptoms off to be nothing. Dr. Dover took her time with me and made sure I understood her thoughts of what may have been going on with me. She paid close attention to my medical history and my symptoms and everything I had to say. Took notes and then overviewed everything wth me in deeper detail. She treated me for what she believed was going on and I felt so much better for a few months then it all went down hill. She was prompt at sending me for tests and calling me as soon as she received my results. She even squeezed me into her busy schedule to tell me my diagnosis and didn't rush me out. She was very compassionate and explained in detail the next step. I couldn't ask for a better neurologist. I would recommend Dr. Dover to anyone! PS: the front desk lady Jill (Sparta office) is very unpleasantly rude and makes you feel as if you are a burden on her day.

Hospital Visit-What a disgrace! 5 minutes of blah, blah, blah, that was spoken so quickly, I couldn't even understand, "squeeze my fingers", and left. Insurance charges $345.00 PATHETIC!!!!!

I had one visit with Dr. Dover and did not come away with any kind of assurance that she would help me with my memory issues. I've improved since I've seen her by concentrating on issues and writing important things down. Now I have been turned down 3 times for additional life insurance coverage--all because of my ONE VISIT with Doctor Dover. I will not be seeing her anytime soon and would not recommend her services to anyone!

Doctor did a most professional examination.

Being in the healthcare industry for 35 years, I was surprised at the abruptness of the entire process; from making an appointment to seeing the physician. The scheduling staff is borderline rude and act like their billing process/making appointments are more important than the actual patient. Dr. Dover was okay, however, both my follow-up appointments were cancelled by her office. I have since went to another group as my issue hasn't been resolved.

I met Dr Dover in 2007 while I was a patient in Hackettstown Hospital. She was very professional and sympathetic when she confirmed my MS diagnosis. She takes her time with me at all follow up visits making sure all my questions are answered before leaving. She has been able to keep me practically relapse free in the six years I have been her patient. I highly recommend Dr Dover and the whole practice.

The Sparta office staff is what the problem is here. Dr. Dover is a good doctor; however her staff is beyond rude. They treat the very people who they are paid to assist like they are intruding on their time. Heaven forbit you have a special need -- (which incidentally, is why you'd see a Neurologist int he first place) -- then they are worse. They've held up perscriptions knowing full well what the affects will be.

The staff are RUDE and failed to help when they had to fax the prescription. Calling them on the phone the very nasty not nice people at all to deal with the Doctor Ran tests on my son and found the problem and was very unprofessional she didn't want to deal with the problem she sent all the information to his regular doctor when it was in her field of medicine to take care of I will never go back there horrible doctor horrible experience horrible people that work there
