Dr. Marilyn E Miller, MD

Dr. Miller took the time to speak with my surgeon as well as a review board before deciding on adjunctive chemo treatment. As it turned out they decided I did not need it which saved me a lot of discomfort. My initial treatment was state of the art at the time. I am cancer free 10 years now. Dr. Miller was very attentive, listened to me, and took great personal care in my treatment.

i would never go to her again they lie to you and sent you to boston there dr and they lie to you and used you like a gpig for sample hostipal bri and woman go to mass genle they are the best please stay away from them im not fooling

Dr.Miller was my oncologists for breast Cancer which I was diagnosed with at age 46. Even though I was very much afraid upon first meeting her,(my mother had died from Breast cancer at age 58), I felt very reasured by her knowledge and bedside manner. I was going through a divorce, I did not want, in the process of selling my home, but didn't know where I would be living, and couldn't work, so I had limited income coming in! These things were far more important to me than restling with the breast cancer was. All of these life crisises coming at me all at once took an enourmous amount of faith to get through. Thank God I had the best doctor I could of had to help me through such a difficutl time. Belief me she was!I can be a rebel of sorts at times and going through chemo brought it out of me. I almost never had an appointment time. I'd show up on the day I was suppose to be there, but I'd pick my own time! They called me the girl without a time! I came in when I wanted or it fit into my scheduel. It became a joke at Hudner Oncology Center. Dr. Miller was on to me..... she knew that there wasn't much in my life I had control of so atleast I could control the times I have my chemo treatments. She's deffenately a one of a kind doctor. She always had on these kooky eye glasses, you couldn't help but comment on. She's very curious also about everything in your life...no matter what it is; love life, sex life, home life whatever, with her there were no holes barred! LOL We had so many good laughs, her sense of humor is witty and dry, but oh so funny. Don't for an instent get me wrong, she was a total professional every minuete. She just tried to get to the core of you so that she could use anything she found to encourage you to keep you going. At one of my earliest appointments my younger sister went with me.I had to have some blood drawn that day also, well while I was gone there Dr. Miller was asking my sister not only about me, but she was also picking my sisters brain about her life. She asked her why my sister was going to get married to her boyfriend of several years instead of keeping things the way they were???!!!! Then she tells my somewhat dazed sister if it was her (Dr. Miller) she wouldn't get married at all! to quote her she said,"don't marry him, why would you want to do that!" Now I understood the doctors sense of humor but this was my sister's first meeting with her. Well to say the least my sister was more than a little shocked and said to me, " Boy she's pretty nosey, your her patient not me, why is she asking me so many questions?" Boy did I have a good laugh with that one! Who would ever suspect someone elses doctor to say such things to you? You'd have to have been there to appreciate this senario. I don't think I'd ever seen my sister so dismayed! Now maybe most people wouldn't appreciate this type of dialog, but in knowing her I knew what she was doing. You see she didn't only ask about my sister's love life, oh no, she also asked about me, my support systems,x-husband to be, my marrage,personality and strenghts and weaknesses! Now how many doctors can you say will go that far to find out about thier patents? Not many! Dr. Miller is articulate,decisive, and right to the point, a no nonsence person for sure. You always felt that everything about you and your life was very important to her. Nothing was considered trivial. If it was important to you, it was important to her. If you are looking for an oncologist, I highly recommend her. A little humor goes a very long way when cancer is in you life. Actually if there was a humor pill she be writing out scripts by the dozens. Find out for yourself if you don't believe me! Great doctors hard a rarity, so you need to grab them when you find them! Best of luck to you with your search and treatment. Me, I'd rather have a doctor that's a little bizzare and a little un-orthodox anyday, than an incensitive, cold, detached stuff shirt! Oh by the way, I have been cancer free since 2002!Way to go Dr. Miller!!!!!
