Dr. Matthes just did my second knee replacement. He and his team did another outstanding job. Every person was extremely professional, personable, and kind. Dr. Matthes and the team did their work and now it is important that I follow their instructions and put the work in doing my physical therapy, icing, and keeping a positive outlook. I was referred to Dr. Matthes by my normal provider after Xray. The nurse and ARNP were very thorough and courteous. Dr. Matthes used my input information and the exam results to come up with a viable plan to address immediate concerns and information to PT and pharmacy were very timely.

Got me in quickly. Would definitely recommend for hip replacement surgery. First few days of recovery are rough but improving each day.

This is my third time with Dr Matthes. He did both knees in 2011/right hip in 2015 and yesterday did my left hip. To say that I have had and still have TOTAL CONFIDENCE in Dr Matthes skills and abilities is an understatement. All three experiences were nothing but positive from initial assessment to surgeries.

I have been one of his patients since the 80’s when he replaced my knee. His bedside manner is great! He shows concern for his patients by providing the best care possible.

My visit to Iowa Ortho in Pella went well! After a recent injury to my knee, I just called and got in to see Dr. Matthes within days! The exam was thorough and my choices in treatment options were explained! The staff was professional and helpful!

It was a beautiful hospital. Everything was done exactly in time, I didn’t have to wait for anything. Dr Matthes is a wonderful doctor and has done an excellent job on both of my knees. I would 100% refer him to anyone else.

Follow up from the office staff from Iowa otho at Pella very poor.last year visit had requested additional info about surgery options twice, never received information back. Recently told a surgery date was available and had made arrangements, the received a call 5 days later stating the soonest available date is not for a month later

Dr Matthes has done both of my knee replacements and they both went very well!! I would recommend him to anyone he was so great!! His staff does an excellent job with informing you and also following up with you!! I could not be any more satisfied/happier than I am now!!
